Booked online for albania to italy, very easy to pick up ticket. Booked flex ticket before that was easy to cancel. Actual ferry was appalling but don't think that was direct ferries fault lol

The booking and comparison of fares and…

The booking and comparison of fares and times was good. The only issue was trying to get prices in euros while writing in English but being in Italy while making a booking? Your IT department needs to get its head around this conundrum.

Worst experience I have had trying to change a ticket, ever.

Do not use. They are overpriced and not interested in helping you once you have paid them.

So when you contact anyone on their support desk, they charge extra for everything. And how do you pay? They send you an email with a payment link that expires after one hour. When do they send it? Good luck figuring that out. I agreed with one to send me the payment at 9 in the morning the next day; no email. Got the email 4 hours later - but at that point, I was out swimming and enjoying my vacation.

Took me a total of 7 days to change 1 date, and the cost of changing it was only a few euros cheaper than buying new tickets directly from the ferry operator.. which DirectFerries claimed was not possible for me to do.

Update: Took 7 days to change 1 date I thought after paying their amendment fees. Then they come back to me saying they can't do the change anyway because of "the ferry operator". Called the ferry operator which said yes, that change could easily be made but DirectFerries has instructed them not to change DirectFerries' tickets without their support team contacting them so they could not help either.

Totally appalling non assisting company…

Totally appalling non assisting company ,deal with caution as they don’t care
My ferry was cancelled we are now in Italy and have been told we have to wait .
Customer service non existent I have given them alternatives but have been told to wait have accommodation booked in Corfu ,but that did not concern them.
No telephone numbers to ring just an email answering
System that resolves nothing.
They need to understand that when they take your money they are offering a service and need to accept their responsibilities.

I am not receiving enough support

I am not receiving enough support. One month before the departure date the ferry company changed both the gone and the come back. The first departure date should have had as arrival the 5th of August while with the change now the arrival will be the 4th. I kindly asked to the directferries customer support to find me a solution with arrival the 5th of August. Their replies are confusing me and they are not finding me another solution. Furthermore I asked them to send me a phone contact to find a solution together and they are not giving that to me, they are just replying via email.

Scammers & Thieves

Do not use direct ferries as they sell tickets for non existent ferries. We got stuck in Pozzola for 12 hours and thank god our driver was willing to spend the day with us - for a price. We had already spent 2 hours a s 400€ on transportation.

Poor administration

Hi,

On the 26th of November I tried to board the Majestic from Palermo to Tunis. However, when I tried to board I was told I need a return ticket from Tunis as their authorities would not allow me in? Therefore, I don't understand why direct ferries did not tell me this beforehand? I did inquire a day before hand if everything was okay and they were quite relaxed!
Moreover, I wanted a refund which would only be reasonable but was told I could only get 50% back via cancellation fee?!? Furthermore, why can't I get a full refund it's the only decent thing that they could do if I can't embark onto the Majestic?

As per the terms and conditions you agreed to before completing the booking, it is the sole responsability of customers to check entry requirements for the country they intend to visit.

Travel requirements for Tunisia can also be checked on the government page at the following link:

For visits lasting less than 90 days, British passport holders do not need a visa to enter Tunisia. You must be able to demonstrate that you have enough money to cover the cost of your stay, and provide evidence of your return ticket for leaving the country.

According to your correspondence with our Customer Service team and after having checked with the ferry company, you were also provided with a direct link to submit a claim with GNV directly in the event they decide to grant you with a refund as an exception.

We advise you to submit your request at the link provided, however we cannot guarantee the outcome as it will be at the full discretion of the ferry company.

AVOID this company at all costs

AVOID this company at all costs! Do yourself a favor and book directly through the ferry company website, that way you will save money in fees, have better options (like booking a seat), and have more control if you need to make a cancellation or change.
