I took out this policy as I already have my two vehicles insured with. The main reason is your competitive pricing also the fact that I can speak to someone on the phone is really important.

Happy with the product and price, but the communication and admin was extremely poor!
I did a quote on line, but it didn’t arrive by email and that led to a 3 day comms process getting it resent, albeit it never did arrive when promised.
Had it not been for the good price and cover level, I wouldn’t have bothered.
Note: Most of this was done by webchats, as when I called customer services the 1st time, the agent said she couldn’t help, as she didn’t understand the online system???

Chirag was very helpful and always ready to give good advice by telling me that my landlord insurance would be cheaper because I had other insurance with Direct line

Their customer service is a joke really (sorry nothing personal) and this is why..
I reported a direct debit problem via the online 'report a problem' page.
I received a phone call a few days later from a customer service agent and was given an apology, £40 goodwill and told the problem which was a 'system error' had been corrected (which is clever because you can't hold a computer system to account)
2 weeks later...guess what, yes the same direct debit problem occured again, the same problem that a customer service advisor said they had sorted two weeks earlier.
I reported this same problem again through their online complaints system....
8 days later and i'm still waiting for a call back....i rang them to chase up the complaint and attempted a conversation with someone on the other side of the planet (what a waste of my time that was)
Without doubt when its time for renewal, i will looking to put my rental property insurance with a company who has a customer service dept fit for purpose.
Direct Line, when you have 5 minutes spare, give me a call and explain why you didn't do what you said you had, or do i have to report the same problem again next month?

Not happy at all. Supposedly purchased a new landlord insurance policy on 16 April. Was told I could pay by direct debit and since I am a previous policy holder they will use the same bank details. I said yes. I have just returned from holiday to find a letter sent to me in the 19th June telling me that my policy has been cancelled as I have not sent a direct debit mandate. I have had absolutely no previous correspondence from Direct Line who have my email address my mobile number etc. one letter dated 19 June which arrived on the 28 June. The day I went on holiday so didn’t see it. It took 10 days to get here by post and no contact before then. I am very disappointed and angry as it means that my property was effectively uninsured from July 7 th according to the lady who I just spoke to on the phone in response to this letter. I would expect compensation for this as you have cancelled this policy without telling me or getting in touch with me at all. I have requested that it be reinstated today and I would be happy to fill in an other DD form online. Bad service is not good business.

I checked the price for my renewal quote by entering all my details onto your website, identical, but a different email address. Your "new business" quote came back 15% cheaper than the renewal figure. Thank you for demonstrating such loyalty. Be sure it will be reciprocated.
