Having loved Dorset Cereal for years, the recent drop in quality is staggering. Where did all the fruit and nuts go? I would have gladly paid more for the original recipe, but now it’s no better tha... See more

I've been eating Simply Nutty Muesli for years & it was the best on the market but now all change, minimal nut content 6.5% it said on the packet but none that I could find. I will now be trying a different Muesli & I feel that corporate penny pinching has ruined what used to be a great product.

Bought 'Honey Granola' and 'Simply Nutty' muesli as a combo for years&years, loved it. Slowly noticed ingredients changing weights / less nuts and missing the quality that makes it worth it / new smaller box / bulking out grams-weight with the cheaper ingredient elements etc. Now even the grams are reduced. Owners take note: nut content in 'simply nutty' is tbh ridiculous. I would pay more for the original contents if manufacturing costs are the problem. Sadly all the changes above mounted up, so I'm off. Better to be upfront with consumers I reckon, as honestly the owners’ strategy has been a bit naff - it’s a different cereal.

Final straw. Used to love the honey granola. But the absence of clusters which was the best bit, reduction in honey content and now the box size reduction from 500g to 450g means we’ll be buying something different going forwards. Why not just leave the recipe well alone and put up the price.

I still like their Honey Granola, but I see they have gone the way of others by shrinking the size of their boxes. I stacked both old and new boxes side by side and there was the proof. From 500g to 450g overnight. Did we notice? Apparently they do it to make themselves look cheaper! Why bother?

Simply nutty meusli used to be a great product. Sadly, they've reduced the brasils from 8.5% to 1.5% and put a small amount of hazels in.
But recently I was in danger of breaking fillings when I found dozens of whole toasted wheat kernels which are lethal. I raised this on an online form on their website and received no answer, then emailed them with no result. They have a disclaimer saying there may be occasional hard bits. I don't think this covers over thirty.
It all went wrong when Dorset Cereals was sold to the current owners who also happen to own Primark. They seem more interested in profit than maintaining quality. I had been buying Simply Fruity muesli for years but these days there seems to be less fruit than ever before. It's just mush in my opinion. Even worse some of their newer lines are only 400 and something grams, not 630 grams even though the packaging is the same height and width. Very crafty; so be careful to read the label when you purchase! Won't be buying any more sadly.
Well the Simply Nutty Muesli is SIMPLY ALL DATES MUESLI
Hardly any nuts it’s very deceptive regular customer for years but lately hardly any nuts but an abundance of dates. Years ago whole Brazil nuts and almond and hazelnuts not anymore it’s more fruit than nuts. Quite tasteless without nuts.

Where are the luscious berries and cherries? This used to be a wonderful cereal to start the day, now the cardboard packaging may well be more tasty than the contents. Seems to be mostly sunflower seeds to make up the 33% of 'dried fruit and seeds' when it used to be full of tasty fruit. I know the cost of ingredients has increased but better to put the price up and keep the quality as I will never buy this brand again.

Bought Choc Cherry Granola. Where is the choc and where are the cherry`s?
Also, far too many hard bits. thought I had damaged a tooth. Never again.
Very disappointed in this company. I have been a customer for many years and have noticed the deterioration in the quality of the product and the brand.
In addition I used to enjoy the mini-games on the web site - there has been a message on their site since before Christmas saying the games section is under redevelopment. When I message them to enquire when it will be up and running again I am just ignored.
I'm now changing over to another brand for my breakfast cereal.
This is a company more concerned about profits than customers. Having created a good product (Simply Nutty) and a loyal following, they have quietly reduced the nut content (expensive ingredient) and increased the date content (cheap unhealthy ingredient) to the extent that it is a bare faced misrepresentation to call this cereal “Simply Nutty”. It should be renamed “Simply Datey” (and the people who made this decision should be called “Simply Nutty”). What a stupid business decision. We used to buy four boxes of this each week. Not any longer. We now buy separate ingredients and make out own: its much cheaper and much better.
Much like the previous reviewer, I found foreign matter in my granola in October, sent a sample to Dorset cereals and did not receive a response until January. When I did, it was clearly cut and pasted, making reference to glass/plastic where my issue concerned fibres that looked like they came from a hairnet. I was sent a few vouchers that were only valid for a month or so, and no refund for the cereal in which I found the item. Not impressed.
I have been a loyal customer of Dorset cereals for many years but after the treatment I have received since making a valid complaint in November 2022 I am no longer a customer. I broke a molar tooth on a foreign particle found in my granola in November. I complained and was led to believe I would be compensated for dental treatment following an investigation by Dorset cereals. 3 months later, after a lot of chasing by me, I was finally told the foreign particle was not from their production site and I was offered a few vouchers as a goodwill gesture. I complained bitterly and was then told to send in my dental treatment plan to be considered so a mutual agreement could be reached. After this I was ignored again so I complained again. I then received the same email as before saying Dorset cereals weren't responsible. I complained again, its March 2023 now! My emails are now being ignored. I've asked for contact details for someone more senior in the company but guess what, I've been ignored. I cannot believe that a reputable company like Dorset cereals ( who I've since discovered are part of Jordans and Ryvita) would treat loyal customers with such contempt. I have to have a crown fitted to what was a stable tooth which will cost me money I can not afford all because I broke my tooth on a foreign particle found in Dorset cereals granola.
I have been a consumer of the Simply Nutty muesli for many years, attracted to it because it was one of the few that didn't have any raisins or sultanas. Used to be good quality with a decent amount of nuts. Not any more. I appreciate the price of nuts of all types has gone up a lot in recent years, but this company has whacked the price up considerably over the last few years whilst simultaneously reducing the amount of nuts. Now just 6.5% of the ingredients! I don't know how they get away with it, they should be had under the Trades Description Act. It should be called "Simply Datey" as these are now 19% of the ingredients -far cheaper than nuts. You've lost my customer finally, even with the occasional promotional pricing.
Dorset cereals have been my favorite cereal for years but recently the quality of the product has become increasingly poor and bears no resemblance to what was once a really quality product. I will not be buying any of their range again
I used to love this granola from Dorset. It was always my go-to cereal choice, but the last time I bought it, it was terrible. It was no longer in granola clusters, and didn't seem any different than having oats or museli which I can't stand because it gets soggy. If the recipe or manufacturing process isn't improved I'm afraid I'll never be a customer of their product again.
I’ve been noticing over the last two years the deterioration of what was a great cereal. I agree with all the other comments. It’s just oatmeal flakes with bits of fruit. It tastes like cardboard. Sorry Dorset but you’ve lost our business. Was it worth it! Your pat response is not necessary. Quality is not there.
To be fair, when i complained to Dorset cereals recently they sent me some vouchers, but I'm so Disappointed with their product now I can barley eat it. it's just NOT the same product and they should at least be Honest enough to not sell it in the original packaging. I came on here to see if it was just me, but Obviously not. If someone could recommend a good Granola, I'd much appreciate it. Cheers.
It is a very deceiving brand. All the right packaging with a very poor product. Customer service is also terrible got in touch due to the poor quality and was told a bunch of nonsense with little concern over my disappointment. Also told I would be sent vouchers for the bad experience which of course never arrived, says it all really. The product is not the same quality from when it started out, far less key ingredients such as nuts or chocolate flakes etc probably better off buying a cheaper option and adding nuts in etc.

I could put a few nuts in a bowl of raw porridge oats!
Don’t need to spend £3.
I just chucked the rest of the box away.
