First time ever in and it all went…
First time ever in and it all went smooth and quick. No complaints here at all. My salesman James was fantastic if I went back I would certainly go straight to him.
Unprofessional
Dear DriveTime Management,
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the deeply unprofessional and disappointing experience I encountered at your Dixie Way, Ohio dealership on 3/14/26 As a loyal customer on the verge of purchasing my fourth vehicle from DriveTime and my second specifically from this location, I am shocked by the treatment I received.
My husband and I specifically returned to this dealership due to the exceptional service provided by James during our last purchase. Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite.
Prior to my visit, I called to inquire about a specific vehicle and was told to "hurry" as another buyer was interested. I drove three hours to your dealership to secure this vehicle.
Upon arrival, it became apparent that the staff had a strong preference for the other potential buyer. The sales process was deliberately prolonged without justification. The primary issue raised was concerning my current DriveTime account, which has a zero balance.
My previous vehicle was declared a total loss, and the insurance payout was sent to Bridgecrest on March 9th. The payment is currently processing and will clear imminently. I provided proof of this transaction, and your staff even called Bridgecrest for verification. A Bridgecrest representative confirmed the vehicle was deemed a loss and that the payment is in processing, leaving me with a zero-balance account.
Despite this verified information, the manager on duty (an African American gentleman who is bald) stated he was "not comfortable" moving forward. Even when the Bridgecrest representative suggested standard solutions like placing a hold on the vehicle or accepting a deposit, the manager explicitly stated he was "not interested in the sale" and preferred to "wait for the other buyer."
This is an outrageous way to treat a loyal customer. To be denied a sale based on a resolved financial matter, and to have a manager openly prioritize another customer, is unacceptable and reflects poorly on DriveTime's values.
I request the immediate opportunity to speak with a member of upper management to resolve this matter. I still wish to purchase the vehicle and believe this situation warrants urgent attention and correction.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
Courtney Campbell

Dishonesty at its finest
I bought a Hyundai Santa Fe in December of ‘25. After owning the car less than 24 hours, the check engine light came on. Valvoline read the code and said it was an evap canister. I called Silverock the next day and filed a claim. I took it to an authorized agent to get an estimate for the repair. While there, they discovered the car needed new brakes (like now) and 3 new tires. The estimate on the canister was $800. Silverock denied the claim, stating that Hyundai should cover it under their 100k mile warranty. We took it to a Hyundai dealer and they told us it’s not covered. They filled a claim with Silverock to which it was denied again. I called the customer care team to take it further up the chain, and they denied it a final time, saying the car wasn’t damaged when they sold it to us, that it was caused by a collision on our end. Hyundai said you’d had to have hit a huge object to tear it, and you’d know for sure if you did it. I drove the car 20 miles in that day and hit absolutely nothing. When I asked to see pictures of Drivetimes so called inspection they brag about, I was told they wouldn’t disclose that and I’d have to get an attorney to get any of that information.
This is the 5th car I’ve purchased from them and it will be the last. You pay extra for this amazing warranty that covers absolutely nothing.
I did not cause the tear. I was sold a car that needs about $2,500 worth of work right off the bat, and if they really do this inspection, they knew it. I understand the risks that come with purchasing a used car. I’d never expect to get a previously owned car in perfect condition. But, this is extreme.
In a world full of dishonesty, I’d like one company to actually put the customer first. Drivetime isn’t it. Go anywhere else.
