Bought a Dyson cool fan to help with hot temperatures, especially during the night. It looks nice, is lightweight and quite powerful but it's no better than any other tower fan you could probably pick... See more

About Dyson
Dyson was founded on the idea of solving problems that others ignore; vacuum cleaners that clog and lose suction, hand dryers that are energy hungry and don't work, and hair technology that relies on extreme temperatures and cause heat damage.
Since it was established in the UK in 1993, Dyson has grown from one man and one idea to a global technology company with an ever-growing team of engineers and scientists at its core.
Today, Dyson machines are sold in over 65 countries. From cordless vacuum cleaners to air purifiers to hair dryers ; a whole new generation of technology has made its way into the hands of Dyson owners around the world.

Never buy anything direct from Dyson
Ordered a Dyson V8 Absolute cordless cleaner direct from Dyson on 23/2/2026 order number 1507310698
It arrived 25/2/2026.
I carefully unboxed it and tried to use it.
Squeezed the trigger and nothing happened.
Charged overnight, still nothing.
I then noticed the battery light flashing red and searched up the meaning of the flash code.
The code indicated a battery fault!
As the unit was faulty out of the box I called the customer support number.
During the call with customer support, they used my phone camera to see the fault and serial number details.
They offer to send a replacement battery.
I declined saying I expected a complete replacement as the unit was faulty out of the box.
They said this wasn't company policy.
I said I would return the faulty unit for a full refund.
They said money would be refunded in 14 days (14 days it's ridiculous!)
They agreed and sent an email with a return code and instructions for the pick up point.
I took it to the pick up point (27/2/26), who scanned the code, took the item and gave me a receipt. (I have the receipt)
I received an immediate email (27/2/26) confirming the item had been dropped off to the pick up point.
On the 3/3/26 I received another email from Dyson Collect saying, 'Parcel returned - It's arrived' etc.
I waited over 14 working days, no refund!
Since then I have called at least 6 times.
Each time told it has been escalated and would get a refund in 5 days.
Eventually got an email on the 29th April 2026 from Dyson Owner Support, saying:
'We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Please rest assured, we have initiated a refund, and the amount will be reflected in your bank account within 5 working days.'
29th May – replied to the email from Dyson Owner Support to say I still hadn’t received a refund
2nd June emailed again with all above details
6+ calls, 2 emails and still no refund, says Dyson doesn't give a damn about its customers.
20th June – still no reply and still no refund
Dyson shows complete contempt for its customers.
Worst vacuum I've ever had
Bought a Dyson ball vacuum design is awful and it lost suction after 6 months. Called customer service and its a 4 week turnaround for a repair, exchange takes longer if it can't be repaired. I now have a month with no vacuum and a busy house of 2 dogs and 2 children. Not worth the purchase
Don't waste your money PLEASE
My partner bought me a Dyson Ball Animal for Christmas. It's my first Dyson and my expectations were very high, especially as this particular vacuum cleaner was £430 (I was horrified). Like many people, I believed this was the godfather of vacuums.
The product is unusable for me. Main complaints is the hose is very taut and doesn't stretch to get in places easily, unlike any other normal vacuum and the attachments do NOT help with this; doing a flight of carpeted stairs is a no go, as it's so damn heavy to lift up each stair and very difficult to angle it correctly to clean, so stay clear if you have back problems; the parts do not slide back in and out properly, sometimes.
Cheap plastic and atrocious design for the price.
I've had many hoovers which have ranged from under £20 to around £70 and all have served their purpose well and lightyears better than this Dyson.
On the upside, the customer service when needing a part replaced was polite and speedy. But that doesn't take the edge off the pain that my partner spent so much money on this.
It's overhyped trash.
I'm dumbfounded at the quality of this vacuum, you really do pay for the name. How they get away with selling garbage for so much is a testament to brand hypnosis.
Almost forgot to add, this product was supposed to arrive promptly and ended up being over a month late.
Dyson Refunds - Appalling Service - 14 Working Days
In May I purchased a Dyson Airstrait dryer and straightener, however, it was not suitable so I returned it.
I received an email on 3rd June 2026 confirming they had received it back.
It is now 20th June 2026 and still no refund.
I contacted Dyson only to be told that a refund can take up to 14 working days (almost 3 weeks).
and as the 14 days weren't up yet, she couldn't look to see where my refund was in the process!
After 20+ years of being loyal to the brand, I will take my business elsewhere.
Today is the 14th working day (24th June), still NO REFUND, contacted Dyson again only to be told they need to escalate the matter which will take another 3 working days - what a joke!!!
Diabolical customer service
I recently had an extremely diabolical experience with Dyson’s customer service regarding the repair and return of my Airwrap.
After Dyson collected my Airwrap for repair, I was informed that it had been delivered to an address I do not recognise and signed for by someone named “Jane.” Despite the product being worth over £400, I was simply advised to collect it myself, with little explanation as to why it had been delivered to an unknown third party in the first place.
Throughout the process, communication was poor and I was left asking basic questions that should have been answered immediately, including where my machine had been delivered, why it was sent there, and how such a serious error could occur. The situation raised significant concerns about the handling of customer property and personal information.
What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability and urgency shown in resolving the issue. As a customer, I expected a thorough investigation and proactive support, not to be left chasing answers about the whereabouts of my own device.
I have always associated Dyson with premium products and service, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I hope Dyson reviews its processes and improves its customer support to prevent other customers from experiencing similar issues.
Don't recommend
I bought a Dyson V8 Absolute Cordless Vacuum in October 2025, and it has been absolutely awful. I can only vacuum one room and a hallway before the battery runs out. The battery life has been this poor from the very beginning. I do not recommend it in any way.
Quality has fallen off a cliff
Bought a Dyson V8 or V6 a few years back and it worked great for a solid 4-5 years, after that amount of time the performance went downhill but I was happy to buy another one if it'd last the same amount of time as my old one, bought the new V8 and there was a massive difference, my original had 2 hoover ends for the floor, one for hard floor and one for carpet and they both worked great. The new one had one that is supposedly meant to do both but it was passable on both so I went from 2 heads that worked great for there specific task to one that struggled to do both even on boost mode, basically they've started cutting corners to save money and it shows, wait for a discount somewhere because there usual "premium" price isn't worth it at all
Poor products with equally poor customer service!
Poor products with equally poor customer service. Products are overpriced, marketing is gimmicky and bottom line is that the products do not perform well!! From what I’ve seen on Trustpilot Dyson appear to have poor reviews in a lot of other countries. RIPOFF company that are making millions of the back of their poor products! There is no integrity anymore!
Extremely disappointed with Dyson’s…
Extremely disappointed with Dyson’s customer service.
I ordered two fans on 26th May at a cost of £660 and paid for next Saturday delivery. More than three weeks later, I have still not received the fans or a refund.
The only updates I receive are when I contact Dyson myself by email, and each time I am simply told that the matter is “being investigated.” There has been no proactive communication, no resolution, and no clear timescale provided.
As the weather has been warm and I could not wait indefinitely, I have had to purchase replacement fans elsewhere at additional inconvenience and expense. I no longer require the original order and have repeatedly requested a refund.
For a company with Dyson’s reputation, this level of service is unacceptable. Customers should not have to spend weeks chasing information about an order that has neither been delivered nor refunded.
I would simply like my refund processed without any further delay
Dyson stick vacuum is useless
I bought a Dyson stick vacuum as I thought it was a good brand, but it couldn't be worse. The battery runs out before I have finished the third room and it keeps saying the filter needs washing when I have only just washed and dried it and put it back together.
I bought a fan for my mother and it is…
I bought a fan for my mother and it is absolutely useless…. Dont even go there!! It cost £350 and a £60 one is better!!
Not happy costumer
I bought my dyson purifier recently May 2026 via Currys. Enjoyed the fan for a week then suddenly does not work. Reported to dyson, took the unit for repair . It came back after 2 weeks of waiting. Enjoying the fan again for a day then suddenly shuts down. I am not sure whats wrong with the unit, called dyson troubleshooting done again did not work at all.
Reported to Currys wont accept replacement because apparently the unit has already been repaired by dyson.
Now have no choice to contact dyson again. They will look unto it again. Not a happy costumer at all.
Not worth buying the unit. The reason i bought it because me and my son suffered severe sneezing everytime we use a fan on summer.
Hope this will resolve soon so i will be able to enjoy it before winter comes.
No choice now but to wait and see.
Terrible return / no refund after lost parcel
I bought a blade-less desk fan during the heat wave, it broke after 24 hours. I then sent back the fan in its original packaging using the courier label (DPD) provided by Dyson. DPD loses the parcel and for 17 days after, despite phoning and emailing, providing courier receipt and online tracking number showing the parcel made it to a warehouse then disappeared, Dyson does not issue a refund to me. Instead, all I got from them was a message saying they're investigating. I would never buy another Dyson product and you shouldn't either.
Buy a Henry!
As I saw in other reviews after I had bought the Dyson I found that it has modest suction at best and no suction if you don't clean the filter every week. I bought a Henry for half the price, so much more suction and light to pull around (not cordless), and without constant maintenance. The Dyson is colllecting dust, but not as it should be!
No customer support
Dyson may sell products at extortionate prices but don’t expect any after-sales support or even an ounce of knowledge about Dyson products from its so-called “experts”.
It is beyond shocking how appalling the customer service is. Their tech experts have no training whatsoever, let alone skills.
Recent and very pricey purchase has been an absolute waste of money. Dyson does marketing well. Its products may have been ahead of the curve a decade ago but they are certainly not worth a 1/3 of the price they charge.
Shocking performance, shocking customer support.
PS: there is another page on Trustpilot for Dyson UK that shows a lot more negative reviews than on this one.
This is the worst customer service I…
This is the worst customer service I have ever received. I ordered a cordless vacuum battery through Dyson phone ordering service. DYSON processed my payment and I received the invoice by email with tracking details. However, after 10 days of waiting for it to arrive- and their tracking still showing my order as processed - I went through the painful process of using their online chat service to get more information. After wasting a huge amount of time and effort on this procedure, I was eventually told my order had been cancelled due to a glitch in DYSON‘s processing system - that I would get my money back within 5 working days and if I still wanted the battery - I could only do so by starting all over, ie: to re-order it again, regardless of them still holding my payment.
So as directed, I went through their re-ordering process and paid again, but after not receiving the 2nd order, I had no choice but to go through their untenable support process (inadequate customer service system) all over again to chase it up.
As before, there was no courtesy email nor text from Dyson informing me of any issues with my order.
As before, Dyson customer service repeated they’d cancelled the order again because of a glitch in their order processing system - without the courtesy of letting me know.
As before, I was informed I would have to re-order for a 3rd time.
However, in the meantime during all these Dyson delays, they had increased the price of my item by nearly 40%! Instead of honouring the original price I had agreed to pay - they refused me any credit and instead insisted on charging me their new price - a whopping extra 40% for the exact same item.
In a nutshell, their customer phone ordering service is completely unreliable, with loyal customers being made to spend hours chasing up orders via their dysfunctional system.
Their customer service system is also totally unreliable and dysfunctional.
But worse - being charged nearly 40% more for something that was not my fault, but totally DYSON’s own error, is unacceptable and unprincipled
The poor reviews says it all!!
What an over rated product! My mother had a Hoover for 30 years and it was still going when she passed away. I have had 3 Dysons over a ten year period and I blame myself for believing not once, but three times in a disappointing product. The components do not last. They miraculously break just after the warranty expires. The plastics become brittle over time with the result that my Dyson has been glued, taped...you name it, just to keep it operational. I can only use the low setting because I kid not...the high setting lasts 23 seconds! I wouldn't recommend a Dyson to anyone. Ever.
No refund after return
Bought a fan, it was expensive and absolutely useless. Returned it, and 3 weeks later no refund. Dyson now claim we sent them an empty box. Never imagined that I could have such an experience with such a well-known company. Avoid at all costs. Don’t waste your time or money.
If only I'd seen the reviews, first.
I recently purchased a Dyson hairdryer from John Lewis, which arrived bang on time.
I then bought a stand for it, direct from Dyson.
The lead time was stated, on my order confirmation, as three to five working days.
I heard nothing from Dyson or their courier, after the promised time scale. I contacted customer service and was given no solution and told it would be passed to the back office to investigate. I was promised a return call, but it might be up to five(more) working days.
That time has passed. After contacting customer service, again , I was given the same run around.
I was given yet another 5 day promise.
That will be 3 weeks with no guarantee of my delivery or a call back.
I wish I had seen all the reviews before I made my purchase.
This is the last thing I will buy from you, Mr Dyson! Should I ever receive it!
False advertising and misselling. Read this before you buy from Dyson
When does 'what tools ARE included' with your vac mean what tools ARE NOT included with your vac?... When you order from Dyson!
Just ordered a V8 cyclone. Within the description of the vacuum under frequently asked questions it states a list of tools included. Arrived today to find half of these tools missing.
Contact customer services who argue that the stated 'what tools are included' doesn't actually mean that these tools are included?! So what does it mean? I'll tell you, false advertising and misselling.
I then attempt to get an email for a manager of which customer services team refused me. I've tried 7 email addresses so far to find a contact to provide the evidence of this mis sell and false advertising. All emails fail to be delivered or are unmonitored. There is no way to raise a complaint appropriately.
The fact that customer service wanted to argue with me over the black and white stated fact of this from their own website is appalling. Coming from retail background you generally honour your mistakes in advertising to avoid follow-up issues and trading standards, complaints etc. Dyson don't seem bothered by this.
If no response I will write a letter and post it as seems no other way. Clearly done in order to reduce customer complaints handling as most will give up. Not me. I'm afraid you upset the wrong customer Dyson. I will persue until this is dealt with.
