No sales - No Value - Outrageously Expensive

UPDATE: - Absolutely nothing (well over 100 items of all different categories - brand new/collectible/antique/ etc.) - Have done some more research. Others have had no sales or only a few, sometimes with years of membership. Their items are nice things too. Since it originated in UK I thought most of the issues might be about shipping costs & not accepting overseas sales. Nope. Not it. I offered that on many cheaper than elsewhere items.

I even created a group for US sellers to interact with each other. To have a way for us to bring in more sales, with each other & our friends. To be able to post links to this group/items on our fb pages. I put this on their message boards. That didn't bring in more than just 1 person who is selling on ebids. Overall, the site is pretty dead.

Unfortunately, their competition is much better if you actually want to sell stuff. Many of my items, exact or in better condition on eBay are selling. My prices are lower than eBay & other sites. That says ALOT!

So, there is something wrong with ebids. Scam? Blocking because you don't pay even more for all the extras? I don't know.

Their site only brags about how many items they have for sale & the value of those items. No where does it mention actual sales & number of items sold. At this moment 74,113 listings in the last 24 hours, but how many items sold in the last 24 hours? Zero? Probably not zero, but apparently an embarrassing amount since its nothing to brag about.

When a company states they've been in business since 1999 - sales in this case is an indicator of their overall credibility to the consumer. Sale stats become more important than items available. It tells buyers, we have good items & sellers. It tells sellers, we have buyers who have bought consistently over the years. Only items listed says nothing about the overall quality for both consumers. Just that lots of people like me bought into the hype of a selling opportunity.

I'm realizing as I write this all the signs I jumped over to believe this was a good site to deal with. They claim to have the best value for sellers over eBay, but with a high cash output & no sales - its actually outrageously more expensive than eBay! If you've paid ebid for a membership, no sales means absolutely no value.

It's also not the easiest to put your listing together or immediately access your stores.

Anyway, I would definitely NOT recommend. If your urge to sign up is so overwhelming, you just must - don't take the 24-hour deal. Don't spend any money before you make some sales! If you don't spend any money, mark item to remain until sold as it doesn't hurt to let distant, future generations see what you have for sale.

If I make a sale before I die - I will update again.

Was Hoping For Better Things…

As an eBay deserter I was hoping for great things from eBid. Tried listing a few items and found the listing process rather flakey. It doesn't appear to be very stable and I have had to re-input data on a few attempts at listing. The photo upload is confusing, not intuitive and time-consuming. For example you cannot simply drag photos from you computer to the listing ; well you can but it doesn't work. I also evaluated the downloadable 3rd party app for bulk listing which is terrible and not fit for purpose. I dleted it after trying it for a while.
I had great hopes for eBid but I'm afraid I'll have to continue with eBay and pay more for it.

Very helpful and fast when you have an issue.
Thanks. Ive been on ebay for years I'm not sure who is running the show now but boy what a mess I have had 3 sales in the last 4 months now. Talk about nothing its like waiting to hit the lottery. Good Luck with that. I purchased a ebid lifetime account and have never used it 16 years ago. So I'm willing to give them a chance I hope it works out all I know is I am very tired of Ebay. Good Luck To All!

I found a bug which existed in the German site only. After sharing some screenshots, the problem had been solved quickly and everything works fine now.

Ebid staff reply promptly and are always helpful

I contacted eBid staff for help resolving a technical problem with a customer's order and they replied within two hours fully resolving my question. This is typical of the care and attention eBid staff pay to the ease of use and smooth functioning of the eBid website.

WASTE OF TIME, EFFORT AND MONEY

Joined about a year ago buying a Platinum Life membership for $69.00 CAD. Have placed DOZENS of items for auction. Top notch photos, reasonable prices...have tried every variation possible i.e.Buy It Now, Fixed Price, Make an Offer. Had two sales in the beginning. In both cases the 'buyer' never followed through with sale and I wasted a lot of time sending messages etc until I could cancel them for non-payment. At one point I sent a message to EBid asking for a refund and I was told NOT A CHANCE. I still have a pile of items with lots of views and no bites. A COLOSSAL mistake on my part. Even though EBay has changed somewhat they are still the best site.

5 days item not dispatched

5 days after payment seller did not send my items. The platform does not even let me contact him and it is not user friend at all. Ignore website go eBay/Amazon, even Wish is better than this.

Hi, sorry to hear you cannot contact the seller in question. After a sale is made all contact options and info is found in the ASL (After Sale Log) area. To make contact with the seller you can choose the "Ask seller a question" option in the drop down menu. Alternatively their full contact details including email can be found on the listing details page.

I just thought i share my experience on here.
While this may a decent marketplace, there are some shady characters using it.
I should have realized it was a scam from the start. But it was late, like 4am in the morning.
Purchase a xbox game. Turn's out its a shared account. No mention in the listing. The seller bignasty in Manchester is ashole. Just forms more opinions and stereo types. A rally of email messages, wants me to go on discord to get access to the game. Penny drop, that is when i ask for a refund. Thats when the rally started, being insulting and awkward. Under distance selling i have right to refund, and i quoted this. He wasn't having none of it. Thats when i got paypal involved.
Please avoid this user bignasty

ebid is a joke

ebid is a joke, sure you can sometimes pick stuff up cheaply there, but if you're a seller, don't hold your breath, if you have anything of value for sale (and I mean anything over, say £4), then you're better off with the likes of eBay, for all its drawbacks. And don't be fooled into thinking ebid is a serious business, it isn't, the "office" address you can find if you look is a bought-in "front" one, which means it's actually a PO Box type thing, anybody can pay to use the same address. I've also noticed over the years that the stock on ebid is going down, and the only new sellers it can attract are the easily conned ones who think ebid really is a competitor to eBay. It isn't now, it never was, and it never will be. My advice - okay for buyers, useless for sellers - and without sellers you have nothing.

Hi, our listed office address is one for correspondence to be sent to if you wish. Buyers and sellers have been meeting and trading on eBid since 1999. We do emphasise you should always ensure your listings are valid for promotion on Google Shopping and Bing Shopping to ensure more sales from the widest audience. Photos cannot have any text or logos on them, the items must be legal for sale in the local area and they do push for barcodes (UPC/EAN/ISBN) to be included for maximum visibility. Be prepared to pay 50 euro if you want to sell anything

Went through the registration process and was accepted only to find out that I have to pay 50 euro immediately if I want to sell anything. I don't mind paying 50 euro but should have been informed during the registration process. Now I have to go back in and figure out how to cancel my account and make sure that they delete my private information. Wish me luck.

You can see the reply below from eBid. Talk about missing the point. Your FREE account will not allow me to sell anything. To do that I have to pay you 50 euro which I could find no mention of anywhere prior to signing up.

This would have been a 5* review, it's got 4 purely because I found it very difficult to place my order.
However, tech issues aside, I'm very happy to recommend this company and the seller I used. Items arrived very quickly and we're as described.
I will use eBid again.

Hi, we allow auctions and BuyNow purchases to be made. Once the item has been won or you have used BuyNow there are direct links to PayPal to allow for the item to be immediately paid for. If you have purchased more than one item from the same seller these will be automatically collated into a multiple item invoice and can be paid for with one payment. Alternatively the seller can issue an invoice themselves with all the items and an agreed discount on the items and postage to allow for maximum flexibility.
