Consensus Cloud Solutions, Inc, or eFax, advertises that they provide a 7 day free trial that allows up to 170 pages of faxes. However, after improperly being charged $10 for sending 85 pages before properly cancelling, I was told that eFax actually charges by the minute. This is not listed anywhere on their webpage. In fact, everything is referred to in minutes though they do try and brag about their speed that the system takes approximately 1 minute per page to fax. In reviewing everything on their site, no where does it track the minutes you are using - only the pages. There is no clock, there is no tallying of minutes the system used per fax. The e-mail confirmation only lists pages and a consumer would naturally believe that you are charged per page - that's what their terms and conditions actually say. There are numerous sites to use and this one would NOT be one to trust. This is a classic bait and switch and deceptive business practice as the more than 200 people who took time to complain to the BBB stress about the deceptive billing processes and their process of charging by the minute (not anywhere on their website) instead of pages (what their terms and conditions say). There is no way to know how many minutes you have or how long a FAX will take. To avoid being cheated, just skip this company.

Awful. I cancelled after my october bill, still get billed for November. They refuse to refund even though I had zero activity. I would not use this outdated software. Offshore customer service team is useless. Bad brand, bad experience.

Reaching customer service to cancel was impossible and then once I did, they blamed me for not trying harder or taking time on the weekend to do it.
I tried resetting my password multiple times and it never worked, so I couldn't cancel online.

Minh was great. He identified the problem. He waited online while I re-sent the fax.
After I received an email saying the fax transmission was successful, he then ended our phone call.

Minh gets 5 stars. eFax gets 3. The eFax service was great, but I had canceled my subscription in awhile ago and just noticed my card was still being charged. Minh was able to look up my account and was indeed able to find that I had canceled my account a while ago. He was able to confirm the cancelation and submitted a refund request for the time period I should not have been charged.

They have no easy way to cancel your account. You have to CALL THEM and when you tell them you need to cancel they'll put you on hold forever, and then hang up.
They add on ridiculous $5 "late fee" charges for whatever reasons.
You can easily spend $100 in 4 months for almost NOTHING. They won't give a refund either.

Completely useless. My faxes wouldn't send and no one at support had any idea why. Turns out my pictures were at too high of a dpi. Clearly the system knew that since the faxes were failing, but I had to figure that out for myself.
Then, I tried to fax to a number in Florida and it wouldn't send because 'the long distance charges would be too high'.

I signed up for efax due to our faxing service being down. Once I got confirmation that the fax was sent out, I cancelled my account online and saw on the screen that my account was cancelled.
Efax continued to charge me for several months. The card it was charging was my work card, and as my job does not require me to purchase anything, the charges went unchecked until it hit a limit. I had not once received any invoices, cancellations, or any emails from efax during the time I "had this service"
I had called them asking them to refund me for the months it was not used, stating that I had cancelled it on the website itself.
They continually stated that I had not cancelled it and despite not using it or seeing a single login to their service, they had the right to charge me.
Their customer service has been incredibly rude. They have hung up on me, they have argued back and forth with me, they have stated conflicting things to me over and over again. The number provided is not the fax number I had from efax, but it is my number associated with the account. I myself do not KNOW the fax number I had with efax because, again, I cancelled the account right after the fax sent.
Their customer service has been salacious, mocking, rude, short, and consistently unhelpful. It has been months of me trying to call to get an update on this situation and a refund, only to be met with rude customer service, who continually hangs up on me.
If you ask to speak to a manager, they decline. If you ask to speak to the billing department, they decline.
Absolutely horrible service.
RE: Their response. I had cancelled the account. I did not receive any emails from efax post this, I saw the confirmation on the screen that my account was closed. I received no invoices at any point. I have reached out to your support team multiple times and been hung up on, been consistently spoken down to.
In reaching out via email, I have received the a generic response stating the same thing efax included in their response. If you have contacted the email in their response previously, you get kicked back a message saying their email is under maintenance.
Just because they are responsive on their reviews DOES NOT INDICATE THEY CONDUCT BUSINESS WELL.

I just recently began with faxing without an ancient fax machine...plugged into the wall you know. haha Efax has been pretty easy to manage and when I have had an issue customer service was very prompt and helpful. :D I will for sure recommend the service.

Customer service, provided by Iraia M., was easy. She made the process of canceling my account seamless. I very much appreciated her cheerful help, and professionalism.
I did NOT have any success with canceling my account online using the appropriate process on their portal; I got an error message saying the cancelation process couldn't be performed; suggested pushing the "Chat with Representative" button (which didn't work). I finally called the voice help number, and Iraia M. solved my problem quickly and easily.
I would suggest the portal needs some modification for account cancelations.

The first fax never works.
Then they AUTO ban you.
You basically paid, THEIR service fails, and THEY ban you.
you reach out? They claim you're unbanned. No, you're not. you can't even reset your password after that (the button is grayed out). No error in terms of setting the password.

If you look deeper into efax, you'll see it's owned by a parent company. That parent company owns almost all the online faxing services. Aka, they're ALL scammers.
