Archaic contract terms steer clear!
Terrible for matches, no matter how I change search critia it kept giving me matches 150+ miles away. You can't put a person on "hold" without liking their profile, so if their's is incomplete (ie no photo, or very little info) you have to permanently remove them or "love" them to see the next person.
The tie in subscription contract is archaic for this day & age, I missed the 14 day cooling off period so am now stuck paying out for 11 more months.
What a total waste of money
What a total waste of money. Thought I'd try online dating. Seen e harmony advertisements on TV.
On the site you add your pics sort your profile and you get message saying, lots of single people in your area, join now and find love. All that nonsense.
You can only look if you pay etc.
Paid my money, no one within 60miles, they say expand your search. Wtf. And the profile you see are old members not been on for months.
So after 2 days I want to cancel so they charge me another 50 quid.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES.
Poor poor site
Poor poor site. Fake accounts and subscription terms in the small print get you. Stay clear of eharmony.
l have not got started yet
Anyone reading this review should take…
Anyone reading this review should take my advice and stay clear of this site. I had no further need for this site. I tried to cancel my account only to be told that I could cancel the account but I would still have to pay the subscriptions for a further 2 years until the auto renewal ended in 2 years time (20028). This site is a total rip off. I’m now seeking legal advice.
Avoid this app at all costs.
Avoid this app at all costs.
I paid for the premium package and realised within two days that it was a complete waste of money. Many of the profiles had no photos or very little information, and every match I received was hundreds of miles away. I wasn't matched with anyone local, making the app practically useless.
I cancelled within the 14-day cooling-off period, yet I was still charged £60 for just a couple of days' use. In my opinion, that's completely unacceptable.
The app also appeared to make heavy use of AI, which made the whole experience feel far from genuine.
Overall, I found this to be a very poor service and a waste of money. Based on my experience, I would not recommend it.
I would give them zero stars if I could
I would give them zero stars if I could. Unscrupilous does not cut it, they are money preying vultures who are all set to chase their customers down for a perceived debt for a service I didn't even use. Do not use them, look at the other reviews.
I signed up to eHarmony expecting a…
I signed up to eHarmony expecting a premium dating service, but what I actually got was a confusing sign‑up process, unclear terms, and a platform that feels outdated and unstable.
The biggest issue is the way eHarmony presents its pricing. The site shows a “monthly” cost, which makes it look like a rolling subscription. Only after clicking through multiple screens do you discover you’re actually being tied into a 12‑month contract costing hundreds of pounds upfront.
The key information — total cost, contract length, renewal terms — is not clear, not prominent, and definitely not unavoidable. It feels like a classic subscription trap, and it’s incredibly disappointing from a company of this size.
For the price they charge, the app and website should be smooth and reliable. Instead:
• The app regularly throws you out for no reason
• It’s slow, laggy, and often freezes
• It crashes during basic actions like viewing matches or sending messages
• The desktop site isn’t much better — clunky, dated, and frustrating to use
It genuinely feels like using a platform that hasn’t been updated properly in years.
Between the unclear T&Cs, the unexpected 12‑month lock‑in, and the poor user experience, I can’t recommend eHarmony. For the price they charge, the service should be transparent, modern, and reliable — and it’s none of those things.
I would strongly advise anyone considering eHarmony to read every detail extremely carefully before signing up, actually I would suggest avoiding it all together!
I think the personality profiling is…
I think the personality profiling is very accurate (re me anyway!) Only signed up a couple of days ago so cant say more yet, but site easy to use.
WARNING: Misleading Fees, Aggressive Tactics & A Very Poor Customer Experience
I signed up to eharmony and cancelled almost immediately after realising the service wasn’t what was advertised. Despite cancelling within the 14‑day cooling‑off period, eharmony wants to charge me an additional £65 “value compensation” fee, claiming I had somehow “used” part of the membership simply by accessing the personality report.
This practice is, in my view, misleading, unfair, and designed to trap customers. The way the fee is presented during sign‑up is vague at best, and the way it is enforced afterwards feels deliberately opaque. It is extremely disappointing to see a company rely on tactics like this to extract money from users who are simply trying to cancel a service that didn’t meet expectations.
I cancelled the PayPal billing agreement, so they cannot take anything beyond the original £15.95, but the fact they even attempt to push this charge is, frankly, abhorrent. No reputable company should operate this way.
I have now exercised my GDPR right to have my account and all personal data deleted. The entire experience has left me with zero confidence in the platform, its transparency, or its customer care.
I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE OTHERS TO THINK TWICE BEFORE SIGNING UP.
I subscribed to eHarmony but decided…
I subscribed to eHarmony but decided almost immediately that the service was not for me. After reviewing the profiles and my experience on the platform, I requested to cancel my subscription and obtain a refund. Even though my request was within minutes after my subscription, my request was refused.
What concerned me most was discovering that eHarmony's refund policy appeared to differ depending on where customers are located. From what I could see in the terms and conditions at the time, refund rights were available to customers in the United States, while customers in the UK did not appear to receive the same treatment. I found this unfair and disappointing.
As a result, I contacted my bank, HSBC, and explained the situation. They investigated the matter and ultimately helped me recover my money.
My advice to UK customers is to be aware of your statutory consumer rights and not assume that a company's refusal is the final word. If you genuinely believe you have been treated unfairly, speak to your bank or card provider and ask for guidance on the options available to you.
Based on my experience, I would not use this service again.
Changes to how the site works to view matches isn’t great
Changes to how the site works with matches isn’t great. Only being able to see 1 profile at a time and making a decision to like or effectively blocking before being able to see another profile is rubbish.
If the site had functioned this way when I first looked at using it I would not have signed up to the subscription, shouldn’t have made such a significant change to functionality.
Horrendous
Horrendous, people assume that paying to meet someone will be better but its not. Its just a con to take money off you for a year via a contract, a contract you have to enter to see peoples pictures. Use a pay by month dating app. Absolute con.
Low quantity of matches and people in your area.
After trying to cancel within the first…
After trying to cancel within the first 30 minutes of looking at the site I hadn’t realised they are still taking payments months after .now pointing this out they won’t cancel and keep charging . Iv now cancelled with my bank and they are harassing me constantly for the money.they have also told me that it will auto renew.
What a scam stay clear
Impossible to cancel and they charge…
Impossible to cancel and they charge you subscription costs for months and months after. I ended up cancelling my DD because I their website wouldn't let me cancel and they still kept charging me. Total scammers, stay clear. Their customer service is poor and money focused. Unhelpful staff, money grabbers,
Great so far
E Harmony..Terms and Conditions that benefit them not the Customer
I signed up to a premium membership and was on the site for one day It was my understanding that I had 14 days to cancel under their cancellation rights
How ever I discovered very poor functionality with the site that resulted in significant time delays when trying to log on by email, chat and answer matches
I was charged to cancel due to their terms and conditions policy to a total of £65 The issue of functionality was not even addressed in the reply and although I cancelled my subscription and assumed my account would be automatically deleted.. not so
I was informed that I had been subscribed to a free basic membership of which I have refused due to lack of functionality and have had to formly request via email that they delete both my profile/details from their data base
My advice is do not join this site If you have an issue they do not listen and use their terms and conditions to take cancellation fees from you bank account
Utter scammers
Utter scammers. Mis-sell their product. Client base is very low. When you inquire (not request) about a refund of your upfront subscription after two days , they do not engage but merely cancel and give you 5 pounds back, keep the 65. They say this is for a compulsory purchase of a "a sophisticated personality profile" which was unwanted and unread. Then they simply refuse to engage and keep your money.
