Amazing service!!

My experience with the enercare service today was exceptionally good!!
The service person (Craig O'Quinn) was knowledgeable and professional and provided us with information about our furnace and water heater that was so very valuable. He dealt with the issues that needed attending to and left us happy customers of Enercare!! Thank you again, Enercare and especially Craig!!

To: Leaving a senior with no heat at -15 for 24hrs

To:
NickPerreten

Tue, Mar 3 at 3:00 p.m.

Mr. Perreten I had my annual check up on my furnace that I waited almost 4 month to get. The Tech guy informs me that there is a problem with a part and he can't allow me to run the furnace, because it burn the house down. (Did I mention it's 2 years old) I am led to believe that this is how the problem was handled.

Yesterday

1. Tech guy says he will order the part. I did'nt think that meant he got in his truck and left 3 oclock
2. I have no heat and it is going to be between -15 and -20
3. After numerous calls that were completly useless in my situation, I get an email stating they are aware of the issue an I not worry they will text me when they are on the way with the part
4. It becomes very clear that I am not getting this done tonight, and I was furious. I have to wait for the part to be delivered then I have to phone Enercare to book another appointment for the Tech guy to come and install it!!!!!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Is there not something that says you can't be left without heat on a cold winter night? I know I read your website. Having someone on call for times like this really eats into your bottom line. I told him that if my pipes burst tonight Enercare was going to have a bigger problem.
He say's Enercare will cover all costs!!!!!! Am I on another planet The couple of space heaters i could gather are going to triple my hydro bill.
You have trimmed your work force back that you can't possibly stand behind your promise's you offer to me and others who pay dearly for these products.

MONEY!!!!!! That's all it is about and your company is slowly getting a bad name for so many different things
I am 63 yrs old and just had back surgery, and this I did not need. When you get together at your next wonderful board meeting, please think of some people like me, left with no answers and afraid of freezing to death, or worse house damage.

Mr. Perreten stand by what you say or change your mission statement and anything else that you can't stand behind.

I would expect for something in good faith, such as not paying the next months bill or we can calculate my Hydro Bill with little space heaters on full for 9 hours.
Thank you for listening
Not a happy customer

My furnace was broken on January 24 and Feb 7

My furnace was broken on January 24, 2026 night. After I spent a whole day to call the emergency call number 1-800-266-3939, a technician showed up around 6:30 pm on January 25, 2026 and showed me the crack of the old furnance. The salesman showed up around 8:30 pm and gave me a quote. I had no choice but accepted the price. Two technicians came and installed the new furnace next day from 10:30 till noon. The installation manager came to do the inspection on Jan 30, 2026 and found the non compliance of the installation. They asked the same technicians to come on Feb 9, 2026 because these two technicians were only available on that day. Unfortunately my new furnance on broken on Feb 7, 2026 night. I booked the appointment on web which showed only available on Monday Feb 9, 2026. I called the emergency number on Sunday Feb 8, 2026 for the whole day and mentioned the urgency because my parents live with me, they are 105 and 97, However, all my efforts were in vain. I even called the salesperson and the installation manager, the sales asked me why i called him and the installation manager even did not answer my call. We experienced two nights when the temperature is below 30 degree celcius. They don't care two seniors staying in a very very cold house. The installation technicians showed up on Monday February 9, 2026. They reinstalled the furnace from 10:45 am till 1:45 pm. I can tell the original installation was not done properly. After they fixed the furnace, I placed a very bad comment on Google Review. Their Social Care Team contacted me and promised to update the installation manager review. I had been waiting for two weeks without any further update. I contacted them. They only promised to give me very minimal compensation. I asked for the review. Up to now, no installation review has been provided. This is a really bad after sales service. Generally my friends told me that Enercare service has a very bad reputation. I will rethink of Enercare when I need any heating, cooling and plumbing service. I definitely will not recommend anyone to use their service.

Their technician came for annual…

Their technician came for annual inspection of furnace. Scoped it and claimed the heat exchanger was defective. Issued red tag A and declared the furnace unusable. He then started pushing us to rent their furnace or heat pump at ridiculous prices. And threatened us if we don’t act now, the gas to the house will be shut off. Had to get independent HVAC company to install a new unit to resolve the tag. The independent HVAC confirmed that there was nothing wrong with our furnace. It cost me a few hundred dollars plus time and time without heat. Can’t believe such a large company would scam people like this.

The company failed to maintained the HVAC and respect billing agreement

The company failed to maintain the heating and air conditioner properly, on 4 visits only 2 technicians seem competent. The support staff for the billing are incompetent and not to be trusted. I had contracted a maintenance plan for heating and air conditioning to test the quality of service prior to replacement of the system this year and they failed miserably.

I spent 1 hour and 52 minutes on the…

I spent 1 hour and 52 minutes on the phone with Enercare today, Feb 26, 2026 on behalf of my mother. It was the most painful 2 hours of my life listening to the lies and deception. Buy a water heater from a reputable company. DO NOT RENT EVER FROM ENERCARE!! When my mom purchased the home in 2019 she did not know the water heater was rented. She got her first bill in May of 2024, 4 years later. No call, no bill, no notice, no inquiry... nothing. Everyone was sound asleep at Enercare for years during Covid. The bill was outrageous. We negotiated a 300.00 deduction from the rental amount owing (over $1000.00) in May of 2024. Fast forward to today That agreement. Yes have the case numbers. It was not honoured. The full amounts re-appeared on the bill. She paid it. They ALSO said the rental contract would end in 2025,November. Today I was advised by Laura, the ENERCARE manager that we owed 672.00 plus tax 739.32 to buy out the equipment and end the rental agreement for a buyout, I think... it was so confusing. I asked her to send me the details via e-mail and she explained that this was confidential information. Specifically, the model number of the water heater was confidential because there were other buyers with this model number and they could be comprimised and the contract was confidential because it was signed by the previous owner of the home and she could not share the details. Before getting to speak to the manager, we spoke to a rep who lied and lied and lied. It was great that my mom kept all of the case numbers from previous calls because once he realized he was caught, he put the manager on the call after multiple delays. One hour of... I am trying to find a manager but they are busy. He said there were no previous cases and when I started naming all of the previous case numbers he knew he was caught. They rely on your ignorance. Write your CASE NUMBER, THE DATE, THE PROBLEM, AND THE OUTCOME. KEEP TRACK!!! End result, we got the basic info we need to sell the house honestly to a new owner. Shame on Enercare who was unwilling to share information that rightfully should be shared with a new homeowner. Case number 42214176. I have no blame or anger on the previous homeowners. Bless you for geting away from this nightmare company. A new, owned, hot water heater installed costs $2200.00 taxes in. With Enercare, this contract has been $4,800 and there is 7 years left to rent. Borrow the money and use a reputable company if you must. Shame on you Enercare.

Every year these crooks increase the bills

Every year these crooks are increasing by the bills, every single year!!! Stay away from this company. We have water tank rental with them and a couple of months ago also got the water filtration system. So 2 months later after the purchase they increased the cost. Unacceptable!
