Etsy has never been more hostile…

Etsy has never been more hostile towards its sellers, offering a shallow and tokenistic appeal system of which its operators abroad simply read off the structured hym sheet with no disgression or consideration for the micro elements of each raised issue, Ironically its the sellers that bring in the money for etsy, but good sellers are being pushed aside for drop shippers, resellers, misrepresented items and AI art.....There is a huge hole being left by etsy right now and I cannot wait until somebody in the market seizes the oppurtunity and we get a better moderated marketplace to do business on and finally finish this horribly run marketplace off :)

Request for Human Review: Ongoing ID Verification - Case #[77YNX9-ZRK6E]

I highly value Etsy’s security standards, but I need assistance to resolve a technical error in my account (Case #[77YNX9-ZRK6E]). Here is the timeline of events:

1. My shop was suspended due to an expired ID document.

2. Following the direct instructions from an Etsy support agent, I uploaded my new, valid Spanish DNI on March 27th.

3. However, instead of a manual review, an automated bot triggered a "Permanent Suspension" while the human process was still pending.

As a dedicated seller, I have strictly complied with every requirement. I am currently leaving a 3-star rating as a gesture of goodwill, but I will happily update this to a 5-star review once a human agent intervenes and helps me resolve this administrative loop. Thank you for your professional assistance.

The site's customer support completely…

The site's customer support completely let me down.
I tried to send a gift from the US to a friend’s Packstation in Germany and included the customer number. However, Etsy didn’t print it on the label, so the package couldn’t be delivered.
The seller tried to reach someone from the Etsy team to at least get the tracking number so she could locate the package. But there was no response from support. As a result, the package is now lost, and I paid for nothing.
Worst customer service ever.

Fraudulent Etsy Offsite Ads

I have been a buyer and seller on Etsy for many years and this week I sold a fab 1950s Hawaiian Shirt. I was charged extortionate fees, as Etsy said the buyer had clicked on an Offsite ad.
I decided to ask the buyer how he found my shirt and he confirmed he went directly to Etsy and searched for Hawaiian shirts and found mine. I had not told him why I was interested in this.
The trouble and time involved to resolve this situation which involved chats, more chats and more chats and emails and finally an associate called me and tried to show me the stats on this purchase, which could not be correct in my view. I was informed by Etsy at this point that the buyer had clicked on the offsite ad and purchased it exactly 60 seconds later - that is simply not true!! Having pointed out to Etsy that the buyer had confirmed in a message on Etsy that he had visited Etsy direct and purchased my shirt, I was finally given a full refund for that so called click on the offsite ad, which could not have happened. I am appalled - its total fraud!
Other sellers have also experienced this and complained on Reddit, they established it was something to do with AI?
Beware - needless to say I have opted out of Offsite Ads on Etsy now, especially as I was unaware it even existed until this sale occurred. I have also completed an in depth survey on Etsy, but I may soon opt out of selling on their site too - it has been thoroughly ruined by mass producers of goods and nothing like it used to be. I feel the craft sellers and vintage people are the very fibre of Etsy - soon it will not exist unless they control their greed.

Extremely disappointed

Extremely disappointed with the customer service. I reached out multiple times regarding my order and was completely ignored. It’s frustrating to spend money and receive zero communication in return. I wouldn't recommend buying from this shop if you expect any level of professionalism.

Honest seller = Perma Banned, Scammers still active

I was an honest seller on etsy that was a star seller, had the best intentions and 5/5 reviews, I was perma banned for an overnight change in their policy against plastic props with no oppurtunity to remove the items or change, massively affecting my finances over night, and taking a succesfull business back to square one of which im still recovering today.....I then find later that there are chinese frauds using my item images and using my likeness, as well as using AI against my likness for both products and personal profiles.....making thousands out of unsuspecting buyers, yet here I am as an honest business, banned, whom only had the best intentions.....ETSY is on its way out, and unless they change course rapidly, shall be good riddance

There needs to be a zero star option…

There needs to be a zero star option for Etsy. I sell on Etsy. Well, I have sold for the lat time on Etsy. This is a company only out for themselves. They cost me a $600 sale because of a "technical issue" not sending notifications or emails about the order. When I asked them to make things right for my new customer by offering them a small discount, so that my 5 star rating and superior customer service is not tarnished due to Etsy's failure, they said they will not. They can do nothing about it, but allow my to refund them money if they chose to still accept the sale. Unacceptable. When a company will not correct their mistakes, run. Run far and run fast, because they will drag you into the mud for every last cent.

80% Drop in Stock Price Validated

This is truly one of the most egregious seller experiences I've ever had.

Open a shop, pay €16 to open it. Get charged a further €4 as a listing fee for my item. 48hrs later and my item is removed for not reaching their creative threshold.

Fine. I ask for a refund as no service has been rendered and my ad had a total view count of precisely 0.

They flat out refused. 2 weeks of correspondence with various obstinate customer service people. All refused to refund. No recognition or acknowledgement of their predatory practices whatsoever.

Ordered a card personalised from laughin hearts sent two emails had no response the card is needed by 15 April and still heard nothing about how I personalise etc, had Etsy trying to help but to no avail, basically said wait and if no response then we will try and help?

I bought some rings off this site they took way longer than they stated it would take,which was well over a month! When I finally received the rings they looked nothing like they advertised!more like if I were to buy them from a vending machine at the grocery store!I would never recommend this garbage website to anyone, maybe my worst enemy.Dont get from here they are a rip off!

Not helping small businesses at all..

Etsy might seem like a good idea bc you think you're safe with a BIG name, but really Etsy helps no one but themselves. They treat little creators absolutely terribly, taking so many fees, and hiding those fees so they don't really understand what they're paying.
And on the customer's side, it's not much better, they take fees when you click on a link that you are unaware of, and you can never get ahold of customer service, they are so unhelpful.
This is so disappointing, I thought we were helping small businesses but really it's like a dictatorship buying and selling on Etsy.

I am currently a Seller on Etsy for…

I am currently a Seller on Etsy for coming up on two years. Had star status for a while which helps sales. During the last review period three months had 11 emails. Missed my first ever email and they revoked my star seller status. Will be for three total months losing my star seller status. When I tried to contact a Supervisor the online Customer Service for Etsy was horrendous. They kept cutting me off when I requested a timeline for how long I could speak to a Supervisor. I think about 6 Customer Service Associated just left the chat because I was requesting a time frame when a Supervisor would contact me after SIX DAYS. Finally today the Supervisor contacted me did not address what happened with their Customer Service associates in any way. Then proceeded to tell me does not matter if I have only missed answering one email in 18 months would not get my star seller status back until next month. Stay away from Etsy if you want any sort of CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE
