Booked in for a service and was previously told it takes 1hr so might as well wait. When I got there I was told it would take 3hrs because the mechanics had other jobs to do.
Took 2.5hrs for a service and the car was not valeted either.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received from Evans Halshaw Ford Old Trafford after my Ford Focus broke down and was kept by the dealership for around 2–3 weeks. When I purchased the car, the salesman Jacob assured me that if anything went wrong a courtesy car would be provided, which was important to me as I am self-employed and rely on my vehicle for work. However, when my car actually broke down, no courtesy car was offered and I was left without a vehicle for weeks, causing unnecessary stress and loss of income.
Communication during this time was extremely poor and I was repeatedly left in the dark about updates or repair timelines. My interactions with Dawn and Nicholes at the service desk were particularly disappointing, as they were dismissive and unhelpful when I asked for information or possible solutions, even responding at one point with “I’m not sure what you want me to say.” The only time any progress was made was when I went into the dealership myself and spoke directly to the manager. Overall, the lack of support, poor communication, and failure to honour what was promised at the point of sale is completely unacceptable.

Great experience from Jacob buying my used car. Great guy, easy going, credit to the company. Deserves a rise, look after him.😄

The service provided was disappointing and wholly unsatisfactory.
The labour costs applied are grossly exaggerated and likely disproportionate and unjustifiable.
The replaced part "Rocker cover gasket" cost £54; however, I was charged total labour cost £447.91 (ie, two repair hours £291.90 plus an inspection fee of £156) for an issue that should have been straightforward to identify and diagnose. It is highly unlikely that such a fault would require a full hour of diagnosis. Above that, the issue – an engine oil leak was clearly reported by me prior to the vehicle being brought in.
Furthermore, billing two hours of labour on top of a paid inspection, strongly suggests duplication of effort and raises serious concerns regarding the legitimacy of the charges. This approach gives the impression that customers are being deliberately overcharged rather than treated fairly and honestly.
Moreover, my vehicle’s clutch was replaced twice within a period of three years, at a total cost exceeding £4,737.
In total, I have paid Evans Halshaw more than £8,175.93 for maintenance, parts and labour cost since September 2020, an amount that effectively exceeds the price of purchasing the vehicle.
There has been no accident or damage to the vehicle. It was purchased in September 2020 with approximately 18k miles, and the current mileage is around 55k miles (ie, average usage 7,400 miles pa).
I am left questioning whether this level of expenditure is considered normal practice for all customers, or whether my case has been treated differently?
My concerns were further reinforced by a call I received from an Evans Halshaw representative the day before my appointment, during which I was encouraged to consider purchasing a newer vehicle. During this conversation, it was stated that the 2013 Ford Focus is known to suffer from multiple issues, implying a recognised production defect. Rather than addressing such known issues responsibly, it appears that the dealership exploits them as an opportunity to maximise revenue.
Overall, this experience reflects conduct that I consider misleading, unethical, and detrimental to customer trust.
I trust this feedback will be taken seriously and addressed promptly.

Booked in for a service this morning 7/01/26 - arrived at 9am and asked the question 'will my car be valeted' and was told 'Yes it would be', went and collected my car this afternoon and the cost for the service and an upgrade on the service was £271.00 only to find clearly the valet hadn't been carried out. Really disappointed to say the least and little things (like a valet) mean a lot.

Starting from the beginning, I had a minor issue with the heating system in my car. I called up to get it booked in to be fixed as the car was still under warranty. This in itself took almost 2 days of almost constant calling as no one was answering the service department phone number. I finally got through to someone and they got my car booked in, admittedly sooner than I was expecting which I was delighted with as it being a heating problem during winter wasn't ideal.
When I received my car back after it had been repaired, I drove for approx 5 minutes and the fault appeared again. Seeming to me that the repair hadn't been appropriately tested, causing me to have to take further time off work. Costing me money. Because of my frustration with what should have been a simple situation I decided to submit a complaint to which I was told I would receive a reply in 48 hours. Withing the 48 hours I had received a voicemail early in the morning asking me to contact the service centre, I had already explained that I was working nights so I wouldn't be contactable until midday. I then spent the next 4 days trying to get in contact with the service centre to no avail. I then decided to try getting through to the used car department to see if they could put me through. They answered straight away and said they would connect me. Withing seconds the line hung up so I called back to explain that the lime went dead and could they put me back through. They answered and immediately hung up. O kept trying and the same thing kept happening. Lime answers, I hear people in the background and the lime goes dead.
Because of my frustration I kept ringing until someone answered the phone in exasperated fashion and told me they would personally take a message to the service department for me and get them to contact me.
I still haven't received so much as a call or an email. I have resubmitted further complaints and yet to hear anything.
I was under the impression that Evan halshaw was a respectable business but my impression from start to not even finish is they are only bothered about the initial sale of the car and any aftercare service isnt something they want to deal with.
I will be avoiding at all costs in the future and I will be actively telling any friends or family to avoid too unless they was amateur levels of customer service.

It's worth noting that unlike other garages you are allowed to take the car out by yourself which means you can see how it is for parking, reversing, stop start traffic etc.
The garage car park is usually full so you may prefer to park across the road at White City where you can park for free for 3 hours.

The whole business of booking the car in was great, plenty of parking and I like the re-vamp to the service reception and the car was returned to me in good condition and at the time specified and I was quite happy with the cost. Howeve the payment method is now a so complicated for a 70 year old I will probably be looking for a garage that accepts credit cards next time.

Another visit to Evans Halshaw Old Trafford, this time for a car service.
Customer service top level as always, friendly and efficient.
Wasn't keen on the hard sell for a new service plan which was just no good for me, although I suspect that this is a selling ploy that's come from higher up and is nothing to do with the branch in question.
Was quite disappointed that an outer clean is no longer included within the service without an extra fee.

Bought a used Ford Focus in 9th June 2025. I travelled from Edinburgh to Manchester by train after receiving a personal video stating the car was in excellent condition to pay and collect the car. The Salesperson did not show me the car prior to payment as he said it was getting valeted. After payment he asked me to do a google review and mention his name stating he should get a pay rise. I was then taken to the car I asked if he would show me anything I needed to know he said it’s all pretty standard and handed the keys. Upon driving out the garage the car displayed showed I had 3 miles of fuel left so desperately needed to find a garage. When I got back to Edinburgh I immediately sent an email with photos showing two small dents in the roof and a large bubbling of the inside of the front door panel. The Salesperson took months trying to get other branches in Edinburgh to fix this and failed asking me to take it to a Coachworks in Edinburgh to get the car assessed and an estimate, which I did and he then said it the cost was too much and asked me to drive the car to Manchester for them to fix it, which I refused. He then stated the faults occurred after he sold it, I then escalated to the Sales Manager. He promised to get it fixed in Scotland and promised their Coachwork people would phone me to bring the car in. They didn’t and I said I’m escalating to their CEO and I had a full audit trail of multiple emails and phone calls. He then agreed that I would put it into the Coachworks they had originally asked me to get the estimate and that I should pay for it and they would then pay me directly into my bank account. I did this and asked for the money to be paid which needed further 2 weeks of chasing as the Sales Manager was on holiday and the original Salesperson did not even respond to my emails. On 22nd August 2025, I got a Sales Executive who asked me to email him directly with the email chain and would take personal responsibility to get it paid, I was paid the money same day - so thank you Tahir you did what you said you would do. Unfortunately the experience has shown their are some real gaps in professionalism with some of the Sales People at Evan’s Halshaw and you might be lucky and get Tahir but equally you could get a very poor unprofessional service from others, it’s a lucky dip what level of service you will get.
