3 month membership scam - US bait & switch style tactics
Thieving, unscrupulous scamming shysters … end of.
Truly disappointing that this kind of practice is allowed to thrive in society… why is this bait & swich BS still traveling across the pond and taking hold in the UK.
Wake up to this pathetic business practice now employed by low rent companies like Everlast
Have nothing to do with this vermin
Horrible company
Horrible company! I have been trying to cancel my membership for 3 months now! No reply to my emails, being lied on the phone, went 2 times in person and still nothing. According to them my membership is now cancelled awaiting a refund. Two weeks later, no refund. Reporting this to the authorities now.
Fantastic gym
Fantastic gym, top equipment it’s aesthetically pleasing inside & good vibes from the staff.
Fantastic gym
Fantastic gym. Would highly recommend joining here the price is fantastic for the equipment and the classes are superb. All the staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome when you join and they make you feel like that Throughout your membership.
Everlast (Chiswick) destroyed Roko
I liked Roko Chiswick, but since Everlast took over the place has been getting worse and worse. Sauna was closed for about 3-4 months before they finally repaired it, then new steam room took over 2 months to set up. Now jacuzzi is closed for at least 3 months and they put a note “no idea when it’s coming back”.
They removed a useful squeezing machine for drying your swimming costumes, took away wet cleaning tissues and replaced cleaning team. Previously, in Roko, there’s been wet cleaning of the studio floors daily and daily cleaning of the spa area, including all surfaces in sauna and steam room. Now - forget it :(
Overall it is getting worse. And the services are diminishing. Some classes are taken off the timetable. Many people are leaving or talking about leaving, very sad state of things.
Inevitably closing down soon
Staff friendly enough, but the company clearly falling apart. Was a member at the Epsom club which closed down for being a health hazard, now moved to the Ewell one which has countless broken machines with no signs of them being fixed. This gym won’t be around much longer.
Cancellation experience with Everlast…
Cancellation experience with Everlast Gillingham (ex-Roko). Wanted to cancel early due to a redundancy and relocation. Management hiding behind rules and procedures never even communicated to the customers. Trying to squeeze as much money as they can. Zero compassion, fluffy useless words of apology. Shameless policies aimed at making money.
Disregard on rememberance day
Usually very happy with Everlast gym, however today (rememberance Sunday) there was know mark of respect with any form of silence at 11am. An absolute disgrace from staff, young or otherwise, and management who should have informed those working around that time. Should be ashamed.
Everlast Gateshead - Appalling
Great gym , lovely staff but crippled by head offices utter refusal to maintain facilities, Sauna now broken for weeks , and no sign of imminent repair , ice bath broken for six months !!
This is unnadeptqble
Dont Use
Dont use, as soon as you mobe of have problems Customer Service trys to avoid it. Also dont trust there word as they avoid you once agreeing to am action plan.
What happened to the good manager?
I moved from France for work at the end of last year and Everlast Epsom was the first gym I joined. I came over from the gym that closed to the one in Banstead Road at the beginning of the year, along with my wife.
Initially, the manager who came over from Epsom was very good with both of us and you could see he was actively putting in an effort to improve the place and make our transition good. The older manager before was also okay too, we do not remember names.
He was not there very long and I don't know why but is a shame. Unfortunately, the new manager, the tall, bald one does not seem very approachable and the rest of the team are sometimes okay, sometimes not so it is very inconsistent.
The gym is also very busy and people do not put their weight away which makes it difficult to train.
I’ve been a dedicated member of this…
I’ve been a dedicated member of this gym for four years, but recently the atmosphere has changed for the worse. The staff and overall environment have become unprofessional and unwelcoming. I was bullied by another member, and despite bringing it to the staff’s attention, nothing was done to address the issue. I left feeling disappointed and upset by the way I was treated today, especially after years of being a member.
Amazing gym excellent facilities
Amazing gym excellent facilities, really friendly helpful staff especially Ian if you want to have a good laugh I look forward to our banter daily

Extremely disappointed with Everlast Gyms. For the price you pay, the experience is shockingly poor.
Customer service is non-existent — staff are unhelpful and any complaints sent to head office are completely ignored. The gym is constantly overcrowded, mostly with young kids who seem to get in for free, making it impossible to train properly.
Cleanliness is another major issue. The equipment is filthy, changing rooms are unhygienic, and basic standards of hygiene are clearly not being maintained.
Overall, this gym feels chaotic, neglected, and not worth the money. I would not recommend Everlast to anyone looking for a professional or respectful fitness environment.
(everlast York - Previously Roko) Very poor communication- charging top…
Very poor communication- charging top dollar for old gym equipment and the spa facilities are broken more that they are available. Staff are clueless as to when repairs will happen. The pool area is very tired and needs updating. Lots of the gym equipment is broken and tired. The only upside is that its quite quiet cause all the members have left!
Avoid this gym
Avoid this gym. It’s poor value for money compared to better-equipped local options like PureGym, The Gym Group, and JD Gyms. The equipment is outdated and unsafe—rusty and unstable benches, weightlifting platforms worn through to the floor beneath, damaged bumper plates, and flooring with large bumps in it requiring hazard tape. Stairmasters don’t move smoothly, and overall, the gym looks fine but is in VERY poor condition.
Staff mention a possible refurbishment, but no timeline is guaranteed. The higher membership cost may be due to the pool, which is frequently closed. If you join in person, the 14-day cooling-off period doesn’t apply, and staff won’t inform you. Even though the T&Cs allow for manager discretion, they won’t release you from the contract despite ongoing issues.
No compassion
Been diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis and will probably need a liver transplant within the next year. Tried to cancel contract under the medical clause, told that my letter confirming diagnosis doesn't explicitly say not to attend gym, so keep paying. Thanks.
Never again! Will defos not be using them after this behaviour!
I signed up for a free gym pass after seeing one of their ads for the Liverpool gym, and for several days afterward I was bombarded with calls - multiple times a day, with numerous voicemails - during working hours. Most calls came from one person, Eunice, and one from someone else. This is excessive, completely unacceptable, and crosses the line into harassment. Even my colleagues were shocked by how relentless it was.
I reached out on Instagram about this mental behaviour and was ignored. When I leave a comment under one of their posts to follow up, it keeps being deleted. So they will spam you relentlessly when they want something, but ignore and silence you when you call them out. It comes across as desperate...
Poor leadership creates a poor user experience
There is a lack of atmosphere in the Gateshead gym which can only be put down to poor leadership. Customer service is poor, users are not greeted when entering the gym, there is negativity around the reception and management and highlighted issues are met negatively. Equipment is poorly maintained, and regularly out of service including the sauna which has not been in use for months, complete with a sign blaming customers for the problem. Classes are covered by inexperienced staff with a spin class being led by a receptionist. Multi gym access is limited to tiers and doesn’t provide the range of coverage promoted.
Rundown and dirty. Very Poor
Rundown and dirty. Desperately in need of refurbishment. TVs all not working. Many showers not working and unhygienic. Only work when you press a button on a 15 second timer. Jacuzzis have been removed. Too crowded. Cancelled my membership and told I need to give a month’s notice) only joined for s month as trial). Obviously into maximising profits without investment.
