Gym has plenty of kit but it's stiflingly warm. No air conditioning. (Doesn't work) so really demotivating. Pouring with sweat after 10 mins or so.

Gym locker broken into today and my…

Gym locker broken into today and my husbands iPhone 14 taken. Fortunately car keys not taken. 3 lockers broken into. Reported to staff who said they will speak to higher ups. They do not have cctv near the lockers so absolutely no help. Has been reported to the police and hopefully insurance might cover will find out Monday.
Shocked as this must be a member or someone has slipped in for this purpose. They had plenty of time - one of the lockers was prised bent . HEADS UP. Take care.

The WORST customer service ever

The WORST customer service ever. They take an upfront payment of the last month to avoid you canceling their membership, which means when you want to cancel their membership, if you already paid for the next month fee, it will be valid till the next month after that. It's impossible for them to issue a refund even though I'm canceling because of their frequent closure of the facility. They use auto reply to cope your complaint and had no sympathy.

Incredibly rude member of staff.

Toks Macaulay - quite possibly the rudest person I’ve ever come across in my life. Anxiously venturing into the gym for the first time, she called me “clueless” and belittled me, I left feeling small, pathetic and like I shouldn’t even bother trying. It made an anxious situation even worse. We all start somewhere - she seems to have forgotten that and gains her strength and power not from the weights she lifts, but from making people feel small and embarrassed.

Very disappointed with how I was…

Very disappointed with how I was treated today. Another customer physically pushed me in the family changing area after moving my belongings, despite me explaining I had only stepped away for seconds to collect my autistic son from his swimming lesson. Instead of dealing with the assault appropriately, the duty manager dismissed my concerns, focused on the changing room policy, failed to take anyone's details or properly investigate, and allowed the other customer to leave without apologising. I left feeling completely unsupported and deeply upset. I expected much better from the management team.

Staff who'd rather be elsewhere

Pools themselves are fine but the staff attitude is pretty grim. No instinct or desire for good customer service at all - the staff behind the desk don't take the initiative to keep the queue moving and will wander off instead and even management seem to be incapable of proactively managing situations that have gone awry. We were part of a group today that had booked months ago; we arrived to discover that booking was logged on the system for a completely different time which caused disruption and inconvenience to several people. Management were not remotely apologetic nor proactive in offering solutions to mitigate the fact that families now had to hang around for an hour with nothing to do - one of our group organisers asked if we could use the small pool as it was empty and that was grudgingly agreed to but really that ought to have been proactively offered (Ideally alongside some complimentary snacks for children who now needed to be out of the house unexpectedly right into their dinnertimes).

Later on I was in the toilets when a lifeguard came in to check them. She literally pushed open the unoccupied cubicle doors, barely glanced inside them and left again. She didn't even look at the sinks which were filthy. If that's the standard of a toilet check, it's no surprise that the changing rooms smell of stale urine.

Oh, and there was a pigeon flying around inside the building. No attempt was made to try and get it out. Not the best for hygiene (or the pigeon's welfare).

Overall the impression is of staff who really don't give a stuff about doing a good job or the customer experience. It's such a pity.

No actual tuition.

My first lesson I was quite nervous and the instructor was not very friendly or welcoming. I felt really out of place.
I had no idea what to expect and what to do. There was people of varying abilities. Some with noodles some swimming unaided.

There was Zero instruction you are expected to get in the pool and have a go yourself.
After I questioned this expressing that I expected swimming lessons to be lessons on swimming not a have a go, which you could do at any pool for regular entrance fee.
I was then mocked by the instructor to other swimmers when she thought i wasn’t in earshot, she then backtracked when she say i wasn’t next to her.
After I said my child had also attended lessons and i thought we’d be taught how to swim and have some structure to the lesson She was telling other swimmers how we aren’t kids so not going to be taught how the kids are. I don’t expect to be taught like a child but i expected and paid to be ‘taught’

I persevered for a few weeks and learnt nothing and was told to breathe out of my nose and mouth at the same time under water. No wonder I struggled as it’s pretty impossible.
If you want to learn to swim I do not recommend. If you want to practice swimming with none to basic tuition then this is what you will get.
I met another beginner swimmer there who was told she was the only one that couldn’t swim at all. This knocked her confidence too. I saw her a few weeks later and she had also left.
Really disappointed, as an adult weak swimmer it does take a lot of courage to take the step to go and take lessons. I felt very discouraged and ripped off
The description needs to be clearer that you don’t actually get taught to swim

excellent range of equipment; terrible air-conditioning

Excellent range of equipment, but ever since the gym was upgraded 3 years ago, it is cold in winter and hot in the summer - despite numerous attemots to improve matters.

The fault lies with a the heat pump -which was installed at the time of the upgrade 3 years ago - elswhere in the leisure centre, which uses conventional air conditioning, things are fine

A bad experience with Everyone active membership, no responsibility

A bad experience with Everyone active. Recently there is an swimming pool being opened in Kenilworth Abbey fields. They deducted the amount for the membership and also provided the membership details.

Absolutely, disappointing that we are unable to login and see our details and after the payment.

Also, there is no proper communication channel, proper dedicated contact number, dedicated email to resolve the queries.

Also reset password to login to account is not working.

I dont know whether it is scam ? just deducting the money from the bank account without proper set up in the website.

The worst communication set up and interaction with the registered members. Hence please every one take care while registerting for the membership .

The worst service.

Avoid

Avoid. Travelled there during rush hour . I had membership through wellhub, checked in right infront of staff, received a barcode but was denied entry because it did not show on the system. I told them its because I have not registered but instead of listening and doing there jobs they chose to unlawfully deny me and told me to take it up with wellhub even though they had a contractual obligation as a partner to let me in. Staff were also abusive yo me and another member of public.

I would like to make a formal complaint…

I would like to make a formal complaint about an incident that happened today.

My daughter has been attending swimming lessons at this centre for two and a half years, and my three-year-old son started lessons two months ago. We have been regular customers, and although there have been minor issues in the past (such as the hairdryers often not working during winter), we have always been happy to continue coming.

Today I was waiting with my children before my son’s lesson. I was holding my phone because my parents are in Ukraine. Yesterday, their home was destroyed during the war, and I am constantly waiting for messages to make sure they are alive and safe. I was not taking any photos or videos. I even showed my phone to the instructor to demonstrate that I was not photographing anyone.

Despite this, a female swimming instructor, who was not even teaching my child, approached me and questioned why I had my phone in my hands. Shortly afterwards, a security guard came over and reminded me not to take photos. I already know this rule and fully respect it. At no point did I take any photos or videos.

A few minutes later, at 6:30 pm, which is the scheduled start time of my son’s lesson, my son walked towards the pool because he saw his swimming teacher. His teacher had not yet collected the children. The same female instructor approached me again and started telling me that my son should not be there. By the time she spoke to me, it was already 6:31 pm, and our teacher arrived immediately afterwards and took my son into the lesson.

I then asked her why she kept targeting me and why she continued to speak to me in this way. I do not speak English fluently, and I had already explained this to her. Instead of showing understanding, I felt that I was being singled out and treated unfairly.

I am a regular customer with two children attending lessons at this centre, and I have always followed the rules. I expect to be treated with respect. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this incident and ensure that all customers are treated professionally and respectfully in the future.

Junior Program management

My review relates to how the junior programs are run. They have introduced a 50 weeks programs meaning that courses run continuously through summer and those who are leaving still must pay if they want to retain the spot. This is basically a way to tax parents, and then they pretend to be community friendly.
