lately there are ongoing and consistent issues with how the centre is managed, which significantly impact the overall member experience.
In particular:
• Cancelled classes frequently have no cover arranged
• Classes remain listed on the app, only for members to arrive and find they are not running
• Sessions are advertised as one thing but delivered as something entirely different
This lack of organisation is frustrating and shows little respect for members’ time, particularly for regular attendees.
At the same time, membership fees have recently increased, despite some regular classes being removed from the timetable. It creates a clear sense of paying more while receiving less. Although feedback is regularly requested via email, there appears to be little response or accountability when concerns are raised.
Cleanliness is another concern. The centre is consistently below an acceptable standard, which undermines what is otherwise a well-located facility with good potential. More effective day-to-day management and oversight are clearly needed.
Parking also remains an issue. The rear car park frequently floods during wet weather, and at peak times it can be extremely difficult to find a space. Some members have had to park in Solihull and walk to the centre.
Previously, there were some standout staff who made a real difference. Connor was an excellent HYROX coach, and Emma’s evening and weekend combat and balance classes were a strong part of the offering. Annette on reception continues to be helpful and professional. However, with both Connor and Emma now having left, the overall quality of the experience has declined further.
This centre is in a great location and has the potential to be excellent given its facilities. However, the cleanliness and overall management are a real let-down—it is consistently very dirty.
I have continued my membership largely because of a few standout instructors, particularly Bel (an excellent tennis coach), as well as Emma, who previously ran evening and weekend combat and balance classes. I would also single out Annette on reception who is helpful.
Unfortunately, since Emma left, standards have noticeably declined.
There have been several ongoing issues:
* No cover teachers arranged for cancelled classes
* Classes still appearing on the app, only for members to arrive and find they are not running
* Bookings being taken for specific classes, but different sessions delivered instead
This is frustrating and feels disrespectful, especially to long-standing members.
To add to this, membership prices have recently increased, despite some of the regular classes I attend no longer running. It feels like I am paying more while receiving less. When raising concerns, there appears to be little accountability or response, which is disappointing. They regular send emails asking members for feedback and this seems to be ignored. The centre would benefit from stronger oversight and management.
The parking situation is also very poor. The rear car park frequently floods when it rains, and at peak times it can be extremely difficult to find a space. I know of people who have had to park in Solihull and walk to the gym.
Overall, I would strongly recommend doing a trial before committing to a long-term membership.
I would give these 0 if it were possible!
This review is relating to swim lessons at Tudor grange facility in Solihull.
I moved both of my children here early February, they had 3 lessons each and I wasn’t happy with either lesson. My eldest was shouted at because he didn’t hear the instruction in the over crowded swim lane!
My youngest was in a small roped off section of a pool with an instructor in there with them but the area was far too small for the amount of children.
I found both children barely had 15 minutes actual swimming per lesson.
After complaining at reception and to the staff my concerns went unanswered so I made the decision to cancel and find alternative arrangements.
I cancelled on the 28th of February,
I had already paid £76.48 per child. This price includes
1- Remaining cost of the month (February)
2- £10 joining fee
3- Monthly cost for March
4 - £36.38 per child for April
This is a total of £225.72 for 3 lessons per child.
I have tried to chase a refund for April but because I didn’t cancel until 28th of February I was told I wasn’t eligible, I followed this up with a complaint to the general manager of everyone active Jacob Harley-Beckett but got that same response. “Check our terms and conditions”
I feel badly let down by this company, I haven’t even had an apology regarding how bad I felt the lessons were.
The only good thing to come out of this is I found a small swim group in Solihull who are brilliant and my children are both happy and thriving.
Please avoid everyone active at all costs or at least push for a free trial lesson to avoid the pain I’ve been through.
First of all The place is filthy. Dirt and mould everywhere.
As for the staff. They are so rude. Zero customer service skills at all. Can tell they don't like their job.
I took my 4 year old daughter for a swim and as we went into the small pool we were told it was closed. I said I'm not too pleased with that as we'd booked specifically for that pool as she's not a strong swimmer and the big pool is literally freezing. The lifeguard said he'd get a manager and he just left. Didn't see him again. Half an hour passed and still no manager so we went back in the small pool. Another lifeguard came and abruptly said the pool was closed I calmly explained what had happened earlier and he just said "well the managers there if you want to speak to him" I said i did and he came over. I them explained again for his benefit to which he said its fine we can use the small pool. He then told the lifeguard to watch the pool. That's obviously why they were saying it was closed so they didn't have to watch it. The lifeguard was visibly unhappy at this which did make me laugh tbh when he's giving me evils from his tennis umpire seat. Serves him right. A 3rd rude lifeguard came up to me asking if I had a problem in a confrontational way which was again quite comical as he was about 4 foot 8. The staff are rude and act like a mob which could be intimidating to some vulnerable people. So if you are I'd avoid. I won't be taking my child there again.
Lucy and Frank are fantastic
They are very helpful and supportive. The cancer rehab class they run is a life saver and is so needed by all those going through or have gone through cancer. I just wish the cancer rehab class was on twice a week rather than once.
They are also very supportive in the gym outside of the class helping to guide what I can do.
Dawn the sales manager is a wonderful, welcoming and warm person. Always ready to help and make a visit as good as possible. She does everything she can to make it a pleasurable experience. 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Cleanliness gets worse and worse. Cleaning has been abandoned. Appears that the men's changing rooms have literal bedbugs in the shower?! Absolutely filthy as is the health suite and steam room.
Ingrained grime everywhere, never cleaned. Mold is absolutely everywhere. Swimming pool changing room perpetually stinks of urine, stains and grime everywhere there, hair, chewing gum in the tiles.
It's absolutely filthy, probably the dirtiest leisure centre I've ever experienced.
It was bad before but these past few months it's appalling. I really have no idea how management can believe that this is acceptable in a first world country! Even leisure centres in rough and poor areas of Birmingham are not this filthy.
Second week running and they still have the heating on in the gym area. Most specifically the cardio area!!! The free weights area and the air con is working fine and it’s nice and cool. It’s not the first time there’s been an issue. As most of the summer the air con wasn’t working. Other than that it’s ok
Staff are great, helpful and always willing to help us. We have a regular booking with them and have a great working relationship, they act quickly to resolve any questions we ask and the Lifeguards are always helpful. When we held an event with them on 6/7/2025 the staff did everything that was asked and more, making our evening run with great efficiency

I've been using this pool since the 1970s, and I’ve never seen the water quality so bad. The water is consistently cloudy, and the pool appears to have major filtration issues. On multiple visits, I’ve seen items on the bottom of the pool including used plasters, strands of hair, mucus, and even sanitary products.
This is not only unpleasant but potentially dangerous, as such poor hygiene standards could pose infection risks for swimmers. It’s extremely disappointing to see the facility fall into this state, especially as many in the community rely on it for exercise and rehabilitation.
The management team needs to take urgent action to address these cleanliness and filtration problems. Until then, I cannot continue to swim there or recommend this pool to others.

This is a review for Fitness Classes at Tudor Grange, Solihull.
Fitness class members are poorly treated at Tudor Grange. The equipment is poor and when replaced it's with equipment that's handed down from a centre that obviously gets preferential treatment.
Classes are regularly cancelled whenever a permanent member of staff is unwell, to save money instead of paying another instructor to cover the classes (who we know are available to cover). This appears to be a cynical attempt by management to prompt members to complain about the unwell instructor, but instead it's exposing the incompetent management of the centre.
The air conditioning of the fitness studio has not worked reliably for years and when it does run (oh so very occasionally) it's not synchronised with the timing of, and type of, activity. It can very cold for a pilates class then switched off for an aerobics class.
As to how to improve the centre, Everyone Active senior management needs to take a good hard look at how they manage centres. Maybe there is not enough profit for them to run services properly or it may just be complacency or incompetence. It's impossible for the members to discern, but we know we are provided with a degraded and inferior service that's far from the service Everyone Active promotes. Here's some hints:
1. Provide cover for classes, stop cancelling them.
2. Replace worn out or broken equipment.
3. Provide air conditioning and then ensure it is scheduled to operate at the appropriate temperature for each specific fitness class. Don't just padlock the controls so members can't manage this themselves.
4. Management (especially senior management who aren't involved in the day to day running of the centre) to meet with members, don't hide behind comments forms and surveys which everyone believes are ignored.
5. Liaise effectively with Solihull council who own the building on behalf of the members to resolve issues that may be affecting the delivery of services.
6. Provide a working water dispenser (just one example of how even the little things just are not being taken care of).
If you are contemplating becoming a member of Everyone Active (not just at the Tudor Grange centre) ask the local management about the above first. I used to wax lyrical about the centre as the instructors are great but now I'm so disappointed that I'm compelled to write this damning review to warn prospective new members to be wary. Join but don't pay out for a non refundable annual membership until you know how your chosen centre is being managed.

Loved Lisa’s aqua Zumba class a really great workout . Unfortunately I have only managed to get on one class so far as they are always full . It would be great if further sessions could be added

Been going to the gym for awhile and on countless occasions it has been cancelled due to lack of staff with out any sort of notice causing 30 bloody minutes of my life that I will never get back due to the lack of consideration to younger members, is it due to tudor grange gym looking past the younger members or is it just pure inconsideration.

Our daughter continues to enjoy her group tennis lessons with Bel. He is a very good coach who manages to put the children at ease. She has been coached by Bel for well over two years.

My daughter has been having tennis lessons at Tudor Grange for four years, two of which have been with Bel. Bel has transformed the group, as well as my daughter’s approach to tennis, and she always looks forward to the group lessons. Bel uses a holistic approach - he’s so personable, and takes a real interest in his students. He makes the lessons fun, yet expects high standards in both behaviour and attitude. We’re excited to see where he takes his classes in the future.

I had a very disappointing experience with customer service. My daughter’s swimming subscription expired due to a lack of proper staff support and when I reached out for assistance, the receptionist advised me to contact the manager. I got a reply in email from Oliver Moorey, who seemed completely uninterested in resolving the issue and tried to brush off the problem without offering any meaningful help and didn’t respond to any further email.
It’s unacceptable to pay high prices, only to receive poor service and no consideration for customer concerns. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and I will be escalating the matter further. I expect better service and support from a business charging these rates.

Great opportunities for regular Lane swimming at Tudor Grange Pool. I find it’s keeping me fitter and relaxed. It’s the place where I get my best ideas when just concentrating on counting the lengths and improving my strokes!

My daughter aged 13 wanted a focused tennis sessions along with game time and we had a chance to meet the coach Bel at Tudor Grange, referred by our friend. Currently she is having 1to1 sessions which she is enjoying and learning new techniques. We can see good progress in the approach and confidence in the game. We look forward to use this indoor facility along with an excellent coach.
