Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 89 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently complained about receiving unexpected parking fines despite having made valid payments or displaying proper tickets in the car parks. Consumers expressed deep frustration regarding expensive penalty charges, poorly functioning payment machines, and completely rejected appeals by the management. Some reviewers were not happy with receiving severe warnings and official notices issued without proper prior notice or adequate communication. People also noted that customer service representatives remained completely unhelpful, ignoring clear evidence and failing to resolve parking disputes effectively. Reviewers additionally described confusing signage and difficult conditions that made complying with local rules nearly impossible.

Just watched BBC East Midlands Today

Just watched BBC East Midlands Today. These highway robbers didn’t even tell a guy they’d been pursuing through the courts for 14 months over their rip off “5 mins to park and pay”, that they had dropped the case. He showed up at Derby Court on time only to find his case wasn’t on the list.
The EMT team asked why Excel had dropped the case. After 21 hrs of prevaricating, they said they needed more time. Boycott these clowns

This is a horrible

This is a horrible, nasty company who invent penalties so they can charge ordinary, honest folk horrendous overpriced fees. Best advice is whenever you see their brand logo anywhere never park there asbitnis just not worth the bill later on

I am disgusted!

I am disgusted!
I am disabled, and have a Disabled Blue Badge.
I parked in the carpark, in a Disabled Bay, with my Blue Badges on display on my dashboard.
Apparently I was parked there from 15.42 to 17.38. The total duration of stay was 1 hour, 56 minutes and 16 seconds.
The car park times, I looked up on Google. You can apparently park there for up to 24 hours.
I did call the phone number advertised on their website to check, but it is no longer in use!
I received a parking ticket, for "Parked for longer than the maximum period permitted"!
On my way out I checked the board for information on Blue Disabled Badges. It said that they can be used for the time allowed on the badge. That is 3 hours!
If they had bothered to check, they would have seen I was parked in accordance with my Disabled Badge!
Now I have to appeal it!
I am luckily meeting with my M.P, for another reason. But will be sure to bring this situation up with him too.
Shame on you Excel Parking!
What you exactly excel in, I have no idea!

I paid via telephone for a ticket…

I paid via telephone for a ticket within the allocated time of 10 minutes of entering the car park. I was sent a PCN which stated I had not paid!! But must have paid for a different car park even though I got the details from their sign. Sent appeal but was rejected as the IAS emails were not delivered in time for me to put my case forward.
I am looking to claim the £100 fine paid through the small claims as I received a letter rejecting my request for a refund as I have bank statements and call records to support my claim
How could I make a payment for a different car park if I used the details in the only car park around. This was Fraisthorpe beach so please be careful when parking there. I will never go again or use any Excel Parking car park ever

Shocking company

Parked at Providence Street, Wakefield. Paid on the Connect Cashless app at 6.37am or so I thought. Got to work and realised no payment had come out of account. So tried app again at 7.04am at which time it took the payment of £5.20. Got a fine.I appealed and know you have a window of 10 minutes but I sent them the proof that I'd tried to pay in the carpark and the one at work when I was successful. I also left at 2.40pm but had paid till after 6pm, but of course they rejected my claim. They tell you to ring the number if a problem that's on machine, but how can you at that time when they don't open till 8am. Just a money making firm.

Nothing less than highway robbery!

Nothing less than highway robbery!
Caught out by the maximum 5 minute time from entry to payment, notwithstanding the payment machine would not take cash or card and I had to download a very shaky app (Connect Cashless). By the time I got it to work, I was over the time limit. Wakefield Council you should be ashamed of contracting your parking to these crooks.

Don't just complain here - report them to their trade body

I too have been scammed by this company for "late payment" because their system repeatedly failed my payment attempts. Their scams also featured in The Independent on Sunday.

But don't just complain here; complain too to their trade body, the International Parking Community and to UKAS who accredit their management systems. They need these endorsements to win and keep contracts, and if enough of us complain, they will have the endorsements withdrawn.

Excel parking services are the most…

Excel parking services are the most aggressive rogue car park operator I’ve ever experienced. I’ve got fined twice parking in Iceland and Albans in Disabled bays After they took over the operation of the carpark from Iceland

I used one of their car parks last…

I used one of their car parks last summer in Coventry, as it was next to Premier Inn where I was staying. The hotel website did warn about the regulations and said you needed to pay cash. When I got there, it seemed cash was not accepted, only card or device payments. I went straight to the payment machine and got my bags later, having noted the £100 penalty. However, families with children could easily be caught out by the quite unreasonable 5 minute rule. What happens if the car park is busy and it takes time to find a space??? When I did pay at the machine and entered my reg number, the machine spat out a ticket with nothing printed on it, so I had no record of the payment, the time or the reg number I entered. Completely rubbish customer service. It would put me off returning to that hotel and informed Premier Inn. Like others on Trustpilot, I feel these regulations have been engineered deliberately to generate a lot of PCNs. A reasonable company would have allowed a 10 minute window to leave the car park or pay the minimum parking charge, the penalty only applying if you left after 10 minutes and didn't pay. Avoid this company.

Imagine ...

Imagine, you park in, intend to use the paying machine that does not work, intend to pay via your mobile phone and either signal is poor or the app does not function, intend to call the company and don't get anything but a robot, ...
Imagine you car breaks down, you get a puncture, have no way to leave the car park, and can't even explain what has happend ...
Imagine you put your reg number into the hotels machine, for some reasons it does not get registered, ...
All is me.

Millions of pounds in profit parking…

Millions of pounds in profit parking services …. with zero leeway or tolerance for genuine problems … sadly the love of money rather than a human being … with dire consequences for those humans trying to be honest and work with faulty equipment is really unacceptable, unreasonable…. Without any regulation this industry is a law unto themselves… lacking understanding and mercy …. However what goes around comes around…. it’s like the Wild West … stand and deliver your money or your life … Rosey Hudson paid for parking each day but is being taken to court for £1,906 by Excel Parking …. law abiding citizen it seems according to the BBC website pleading her case … cash payment machines not working, no reception…. to process payment online … that is not the customers fault …. why would a regular user of a car park to go to work not pay to park … ? Beggars belief this society… car parking companies have a license to do as they want at the expense of hard working citizens…. granted a few customers may be rogues but mostly why would you not pay to park ? this situation of Rosey and most other customers is on its evidence and merit is not being fairly resolved…. I, over the years have had many issues with parking companies…. no payment machines, no reception, not answering the phone at the machine. Stressful and frustrating situation… power corrupts absolute power absolutely corrupts …. abusing a customer is surely not the done thing ….
