Customers frequently complained about receiving unexpected parking fines despite having made valid payments or displaying proper tickets in the car parks. Extremely dishonest & wicked company

I wanted to pay for my parking at Powis Street but the machine kept rejecting my coins and card so I ended up using cashless parking to make a payment, never left the premises. To my disappointment I was given a ticket, I appealed it with the proof of payment but this demonic, wicked company disregarded the evidence and took me to court. Your dishonesty and cruelty are just unnecessary

Excel Parking Services Limited -SCAMMERS

A company known for being a scammer, the Feetham Car Park in Darlington is renowned for issuing hundreds of tickets for vehicles breaking the 5 minute ruling which has now been abolished. Our case is one more sinister than that, my wife is the registered keeper of a vehicle which is used as a family car by our son, his partner and three children. He was fined for taking more than 5 minutes to read the terms & conditions on entry to the car park, then driving up two storey to find a parking bay. Then get two young infants out aged 2 & 5, walk down to the pay station, download the App on his phone and then make payment for the contract if parking. ALL because this took longer than 5 minutes to pay which in reality it is impossible to complete, so a process set to fail to make massive amounts of money from this scam (now no longer lawful)
In our case my wife the registered keeper was issued with a PCN and she transferred liability to our son providing his name & address to them electronically on their website. They then wrote to him at his address which to us would confirm my wife’s responsibility to lawfully transfer liability had been completed. Our son made an appeal to the PCN giving a defence that the 5 minute rule cannot be met due to no phone signal to download the App to pay. Because of his appeal which they never wrote back to him giving him any notification if the appeal was successful or rejected they simply decided to chase the PCN via my wife. She has on numerous occasions informed them she has remained in honour with regards the transfer of liability and proof of this is the letters sent by Excel to the driver our son at his home address. They have then passed this claim to DCBL bailiffs who failed to force us to pay the PCN, they then in turn passed the claim to DCB legal the sister company if DCBL bailiffs who have made a civil claim via the bulk centre court at Northampton which we have filed a defence and now awaiting a date of allocation for a trial. When we go to court and show the magistrates the letters Excel sent to the driver which we say on the balance of probability confirms the liability had been transferred and accepted by Excel, we will make a counter claim for the time, emails and phone calls to all three companies over a 10 month period which should amount to approx £3000

This car park is a trap

This car park is a trap, plain and simple. Despite paying for parking, I still received a fine because I supposedly didn’t cover my entire stay—an easy mistake to make given how unclear their system is. This isn’t about fairness; it’s a money-making scam. The signs may technically be there, but they’re designed to trip people up rather than inform. I urge everyone to avoid this car park entirely. Businesses and the public should boycott it, and the council needs to step in and shut it down. Places like this exist solely to exploit honest drivers, and enough is enough

Disgraceful company

I live next to an excel car park where a lorry tipped a load of rubbish. My son and I went into the car park to remove the rubbish and Excel caught my car on their camera. I was there for 13mins. I was NOT parking but doing them a favour. As I live not more than 50yards from the car park why would I want to park there? I appealed their decision and they refused to accept my explanation I then tried to appeal to the independent company recommended by excel and found it impossible to input their receipt number I also tried to appeal it on another site and found that they did not recognise their receipt as there was too many digits. I'm disgusted that someone doing all they can to keep their local area clean has to pay excel for the privilege. What is the point of sending emails one can't reply to? It's impossible to speak to a person. I have read the reviews of this company and they are not good. I have now written to the local MP and written to the Lord Mayor. These people should not be allowed to run a company they have no human facing person who can actually tell me why I would park there as I have a double drive on my house close to the car park so just for helping clear up their land I've had to send £60.00 or they said it would be £100.00 and they would take it to court. A disgraceful company who I don't suppose will reply to this complaint.

Positive experience

I have seen all the bad reviews, however, I had a positive experience with Excel Parking Services. I got a parking fine, even though I paid online for a ticket. I did get one of the digits of my reg wrong. I appealed, and shared a screenshot of my ticket. The appeal was upheld and the parking charge cancelled. This was done in a couple of weeks. Stress free process - thank you

Only put 1 star as zero isn't available
Had a recent experience with this company dating back to me paying to park in Newcastle avenue car park in worksop Nottinghamshire
I recieved a pcn 2 weeks after saying I hadn't bought a ticket in 0 minutes
. Not even possible! When i queried it with excel they then changed the issue reason to say I hadn't input my registration plate correctly I knew I had They Reckoned I only put first 2 letters in and nothing else.. I wouldn't do that! I appealed as it My right they turned it down as the CEO of excel Mr Renshaw Smith chairs the IAS who process the appeals and turns down 99% of them! At this point I realised I was dealing with a corrupt business
They took it all the way to court which took 16 months and even though I had a good case .. as many others have in these circumstances and I also had video evidence of their rigged machine which is designed to jump ahead to asking you to pay after inputting 2 digits of your reg .. judge at Mansfield didn't want to see it .. turns out he is intimidated By excel as they had a case where he found in the drivers favour previously over turned by another judge
So I ended up paying excel £282 !
AVOID EXCEL CAR PARKS THEY WILL AND DO SCAM PEOPLE AND THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !
IF PEOPLE STOP USING THEIR CAR PARKS THEY WONT BE ABLE TO PAY THE £80 000 PER YEAR RENT ON THIS CAR PARK
this will hit them where it hurts !
If you do get a pcn from excel join the excel parking services group on Facebook and independent people will help and support you
I also have the local mp Jo White involved now !

Scamming old age pensioners is their…

Scamming old age pensioners is their modus operandi. I would encourage everyone to ensure their elderly relatives are aware of any of their car parks are in the area. Because if they get one letter wrong when entering their registration they will invoice you for more than the weekly pension.
Remember. Not all robbers are visible. Some hide behind keyboards.

Accidentally overstayed a ticket I bought. Genuine mistake, and ticket was only 50p. To then charge a £60 fine for missing 50p is extortion and everybody knows it. I am annoyed but I don't have the time to spend hours and hours looking up the laws, and writing formal complaints to every company from here to timbucktoo. Our government needs to ban these practices. May all those who partake in these daylight robberies be judged accordingly when their time comes. Get a real job that actually contributes to society.

Only interested in profit and fines

Regularly use car park and only time in 2 years less than 39 minutes late leaving and £100 fine. Not bothered if regular user just wsnt to profit as much as possible. Would rather walk further now thrn use their parking as have no care over thsn lining pockets. Short term profit long term loss, sensible business strategy.

Drove into the car park at Pennine shopping centre Halifax and drove out agan a few minutes later. Returned after an hour or so to pick up someone. Recieved a parking charge effectivly for not parking. Only because their APNR took phto goin in and coming out after my return to the car park. Ver difficult and evesve to deal with. Anyone know of a decent solicitor who deals with complaits against this comany a lot?

I paid for 2 hours parking but failed to input vehicle reg. I wrote to them with bank receipt but they dismissed me. Demanded £100 plus £70 enforcement if did not pay. I accept I messed up with vehicle reg, but ultimately I did pay and could prove it. No idea how they get away with these disproportionate penalties. Friends in high places I suspect. Avoid Leeds crown street at your peril.

Robbers just been robbed

Great to see all charges dropped, tried it on with me, tried with 45 threatening letters over 2 years, when I actually paid for 12 hours, but took me a few extra minutes due to poor signal to download the app as the machine wasn't accepting coins.
Anyway there was no way I was going to back down, with only 2 days before court they decided to call the whole saga off.
Try an alternative carpark to Copeland street Derby, try and put these robbers in administration

Watch BBC Breakfast 12th February.

Watch BBC Breakfast 12th February.
Will Hurley chief executive of IPC stated the rules are going to change to stop some of the rip off charges, for example the 5 minute rule to pay. Also said if there are no spaces and then drive out drivers should not have to pay. He was a joke as he should have stopped this a long long time ago. Did not go anywhere far enough, but hopefully you may be able to use this interview to get off your fine. I'm going to court because there were no spaces, and got fined. I can't wait to show this interview in court. I honestly cannot wait!!!
Note though that this only applies to ANPR monitored private car parks.

And....Excel will have to change all their signage.....

Overcharged and poor customer service

Parked in Lincoln after 7pm. Selected evening charge of £3 and ticked the box and scanned my card. When the ticket came out I had been charged £9 for 24 hours. I immediately phoned the helpline who were extremely unhelpful and advised they couldn't do anything and I needed to email. Gave me an email address over the phone, bearing in mind it was pitch black. The email address was incorrect but I found one online the following day and thus emailed. I didn't hear anything so phoned and was advised it was the incorrect email address and gave me another and once again no response. Finally I managed to speak to someone called Anne who advised she would look into it. However, no response and now whenever I phone I am told she is not there and is the only person who can deal with it. I have written a further complaint and no response. Looked into taking legal action but have been advised that I will to prove the machine was at at fault which I can't do. As a company, they are poor and have no morals or ethics. I am sure that if I had failed to pay I would have been in court by now. We are now 4 months on and no resolution,

I had a terrible experience with this company. The service was impersonal, and I felt pressured into making a decision with limited options to respond. Even though paying twice for parking a fine was still issued, The lack of transparency and customer care left me frustrated and dissatisfied. This company clearly lacks ethical practices on every level.
