Visited the showroom firstly in Weybridge

I would particularly would like to specially Mention Russell and Beverley.
Absolutely outstanding service from day one. I had the pleasure of dealing with Russell, the Leeds Sales Manager and Northern Sales/Showroom Manager. He was never pushy, always approachable, and consistently prompt in responding to any queries I had. We purchased the 3-panel sliding doors and the roof lantern, both of which we absolutely love.
I would also like to mention Beverley, the Installations Coordinator, who was equally efficient and helpful. She dealt with all my enquiries promptly and professionally, which made the whole process seamless.
I would highly recommend Express Bi-Folding Doors for their exceptional service.
Thank you very much to everyone involved for all your help.
Kind regards,
Rik

We went with Express Bifolds after visiting their impressive Weybridge showroom. The pre-sales experience is good, unfortunately from there it all went substantially downhill with a 3 month delay for a replacement after a manufacturing error, leaving us with serious issues in the interim.
The biggest issue we had was the front door was incorrectly sized and cannot be opened more than about 50 degrees. With a 6 month old, this means we can’t actually get in and out of the house through the front door. I understand errors can occur, but this was installed on 16th Dec and the installation of the replacement is not until 6th March (with significant knock on impact for scheduling builders for follow on work who I had to cancel on), despite repeated chasing before and after Christmas and promises to get back to me with a date. The front door as is has also only been partially sealed, which for December and January has been particularly uncomfortable. Screws were also left all over the driveway after the install.
The sliding doors also have significant issues with cold bridging. Most months you might not notice but given the install was in Dec, it’s easy to feel by touching the outer frame (and then verify with a thermal imaging camera as I did) that it’s essentially the same temperature as outside (e.g. 6 degrees even when it was 19 degrees indoors). With large doors this is enough to make the entire room cold and make it almost impossible for a properly specced heating system to bring the room up to temperature. This is despite them asking you to install compafoam at great (>£500) expense in the cavities. Clearly that is a good idea but if the installation or the product is then substandard and you create the cold bridge the whole way round anyway, it’s a complete waste of money. Despite promises to look into this we heard nothing further from them even after chasing.

The sales person was very slow to take interest and send quotes over email or over the phone until we finally just went to the showroom, selected what we needed and paid the deposit. The sales person didn’t really engage until that point, ignoring dimension enquiries until the last. When the pre fit survey took place I decided to attend, worried that the size that we had requested would be wrong. The surveyor came with the wrong dimensions, the sales person had not handed over the correct door size. The windows and doors were delivered in the time laid out by the sales person. Our builders got one window aperture wrong, not just once, so installation of this window was slowed down. However, Express came 3 times over weeks to finalise the sliding doors, the wrong seals were brought to the job so the glass could not go in on the first install attempt, glass and parts were left on our building site, which was concerning and apparently our job to make sure these were not damaged. When the glass finally went in the second seals were not installed either. Installation was done over around 3 weeks which was only expedited by us chasing to get the job done, we needed to make our structure water tight to move to the next stage of our build. Installation started on November 29th and our windows and doors still sit unsealed to the exterior surrounds. One window has a gap all the way around where it should be a seal to finished brick, other windows and the sliding doors have not been water sealed. The installers have not turned up when they said they would, we are still waiting nearly 2 months after initial installation commenced. Waiting home and taking time off work for no one to turn up. As usual it seems beyond financial commitment, interest in customer service and completion is very low.

Absolutely brilliant. Everyone I came into contact with was so polite , informed and helpful. Dominic was so patient, never any hard sell, he just provided me with all the information I needed to make an informed decision . I chose bifolds which look great and are really easy to operate .. really good quality.
Customer service was outstanding .. I had a small scratch on the door handle and some tiny marked on one piece of glass .. these were replaced swiftly with no hassle.
Would highly recommend this company and will be using again.

Extremely disappointing experience.
I was very surprised and disappointed when my XP Slide 25 sliding door was installed. The brochure shows two options: a standard profile and a reinforced profile. It also states that smaller panel sizes can use the standard profile. My panel size falls within that range, so I expected the standard option. Instead, I was supplied with the reinforced version, which is much bulkier and changes the look of the door significantly.
I raised this as a formal complaint and tried multiple times to get clarity, but communication has been very slow and I’m still waiting for a proper response. I was later told the decision was based on the overall opening size, not the panel size, which contradicts the brochure and was never explained to me before I ordered. This was also not shown on the survey I signed, so I never knowingly agreed to it.
I also paid extra for a specific RAL colour. At no point was I told that visible parts of the door would remain black or white and could not be colour matched. I was told this isn’t something they can realistically explain to every customer, which is frustrating given the cost and how noticeable it is.
The main issue isn’t just the product, but the lack of clear communication. Customers shouldn’t find out important details after installation or be told later that going to a showroom would have avoided this. If a showroom visit is necessary to understand what you’ll receive, that should be made clear upfront.
Given the amount paid, I expected much clearer information and a better complaints process. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Edit: Following the company’s response, I’d like to clarify that my concern relates specifically to panel (sash) height, which is below 2250mm. This was confirmed to the company in writing, but this point has not been addressed or responded to. Reinforcement was also not listed on the survey I signed. Still shocked that they haven't replied to my email.

We had major problems with the fitting from start to finish. They left doors not centred which left holes at side of doors. Leaving our house open to elements. Also didn't put basic trims on. Then we have been left with drafts and I have a disabled son . Disgusting!!!

So far so excellent. Went to the showroom without appointment but was seen by Dominic who was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Efficient quoting experience too abd nothing too much bother. Placed our order and then Mark came to survey the site. On time, very meticulous and organised. Each aspect carefully explained and reviewed. What an absolute pleasure to have Mark to survey. Again nothing too much trouble informative, and a thoroughly nice experience. We still have a few things to go through and then manufacturing will start January 2026. If everything goes as it has already I’m going to be blowing Express Bi-Folding doors trumpet loudly and proudly. Great team so far!

Recommended by a friend. Showroom in Leeds sells the product and for us it was about the door being the centre piece of our extension.
The key was the surveyor who called out twice to see us and gave us very useful advice which helped us prepare. The installation team were good with no fuss or faff.
This was a big expensive buying decision for us and we got it right and are very happy.

Poor experience. It is clear the design of their solution isn't as either solid or integral as other BiFold door manufacturers. It seems from their representative, structural integrity of their door depends heavily on the fixing rather than the structural design of the doors themselves. That is not good at all. The experience with them on enquiry was also not particularly good either. So from my personal experience, I cannot recommend this supplier and given the number of other highly regarded suppliers of BiFold doors in the area, there is probably others with stronger and better designs available.

2014 after seeing Express Bi-Folding Doors on a home show in London and a short visit to their showroom, me and my partner decided to order roof panels and bifolding doors.
Unfortunately NOT so happy with the after care with clients.
November 2025 accidentally one of the roof panels was broken and we tried to have it replaced by them and they do NOT do it and do NOT advise any company to do it, leaving us with NO alternative.
WE ARE SO DISAPPOINTED and do NOT recommend Express Bi-Folding Doors!

We were a returning customer having been very pleased with a simple bifold door installation some years ago. Unfortunately this was a more complex project that required coordinating with the builder.
When (the many) problems occurred the company was quick to blame everyone else, including their third party suppliers, the builder and indeed us and reading other reviews this is a recurring theme.
I did eventually get an admission that it was their fault and a grudging apology but the whole experience left a bitter taste.
Finally, although this was not the only issue, check large windows for the installation scratches around the edges. We did not notice them until we moved in and this was (just) more that 3 months after window installation and as soon as they realised this they washed their hands of responsibility.
These are premium price windows that are good but if there are issues you will find yourself regretting your choice of supplier.
Our bifolds were originally installed around 2 years ago. All fine but had a couple of issues recently. Anita got a review organised quickly & Jerry booked in with us on his day off(!!) so it was resolved quickly as there had been an initial delay in getting this sorted. Thank you all!

Absolutely THE BEST Vendor of Our Massive Home Renovation!
(A 5-Star Experience)
We just completed a huge, complex, whole-house renovation that involved coordinating 15-20 different contractors. Choosing Express Bifolds for all of our bifold doors and house windows was, without a doubt, the best decision we made. Their professionalism and quality were unmatched.
The entire process was flawless: The sales team (James and Dan), along with Kevin, were knowledgeable and precise in handling our comprehensive order.
The installation crew, led by the phenomenal Dean, Tony, and Radu, are true craftsmen. Their customer service was extraordinary, and their attention to detail was meticulous, ensuring every single door and window was installed perfectly. They helped us realize our dream project.
We can't thank this team enough. If you are doing a large-scale project, Express Bifolds delivers excellence from start to finish.
