Wish I had found these reviews before I…

Wish I had found these reviews before I ordered from them. They definitely ship a month or two late. In in July I pre-ordered a book set to release early October. Its mid December and I still dont have the book. At this rate its going to arrive while on holidays. I did reach out to them about this but they offered no assistance, just said it was going to be late. Now I'll have to spend the holiday worried that its going to be snagged by a porch pirate at my front door. Given the other reviews on here I can't imagine requesting a return for a stolen item is going to go well either. And I still haven't been able to read the book I've been waiting on for a year. :'( The pretty covers are not worth the stress of dealing with this company.

Would give zero stars if I could. Purchased a special edition set with a slipcase. Set arrived with the slipcase damaged, the top completely sliced off. Fae Crate refused to replace, saying the slipcase was just considered “covering” and not eligible for replacement, and wouldn’t do a return because they have a no returns policy. So I paid for a horrible product and they don’t care. Stay away, do not give them your money. There are lots of pretty editions out there by companies that care about both their products and their customers.

Takes a while but the books are gorgeous

I’ve bought several special edition sets from them and loved them all. It used to take a while to get my orders, but it seems like maybe they’re getting faster with shipping. The covers and sprayed edges are gorgeous and they always find good authors to work with. Well worth the wait.

They never even shipped my orders.

I ordered two different items from them, one in April and another this month. Neither ever shipped and they apparently don't do refunds...even if they never sent you anything. That was 80+ dollars down the drain.

I’ve ordered from these guys 3 times

I’ve ordered from these guys 3 times. Over £200 spent each time and 2/3 of my orders arrived with so many printing errors. Damage to the covers where foiling had removed, really bad shadowing and raised printing on the reverse of dust jackets and just all around poor quality. I contacted customer services and had them tell me that I had passed the period of 15 days to be able to contact them, bare in mind I had to get mine shipped to the U.K.
I was told my issue would be escalated to the manager and it’s now been a month plus 4 follow up emails with no response.

Don’t waste your money, there are much better book boxes out there!

They canceled my order after I received…

They canceled my order after I received an order confirmation. The order cancellation was not seen. I order the second half of the set thinking I was getting the first have. Now they won't let me cancel the second half. Now I'll have the last 4 books in an 8 book series without an option to buy the first books because they are sold out. The author is amazing so I won't say her name or the series.

Poorly crafted books

I recently got an order from them that cost me $175. Well one of the books in the set was poorly crafted. I don't know how that got past quality control. I guess they didn't think poor craftsmanship was bad and sent the book out. Well I contacted them and the customer service was horrendous. They didn't seem to care; basically said sorry we sent you a crappy book but it doesn't qualify for replacement. They didn't offer any other solution like a partial refund...nothing. I decided right then and there I will not be supporting them anymore. The fact that they are okay with sending crappy products out speaks volumes. Good luck to anyone who gets a poorly crafted book. They will not replace that but hey if you have a dent in the corner that will be replaced according to their policy. I don't know about others but I rather a book with a dent then a book whose end paper was sticking out past the hardcover.

Was a loyal customer for almost a year

Was a loyal customer for almost a year, even though boxes were severely delayed. A box that did ship was stolen off my porch, and I have proof. They told me to submit a claim to the post office. It was denied, so I sent them the proof of that, and they said they still would not do anything. Not very good business practice, and customer service leaves something to be desired.

You'd be better off burning your money

You'd be better off burning your money, at least then you would get something, if only heat. Would give 0 stars if I could. Do not expect this to be a monthly subscription service like it's billed. I've paid for boxes for the last 5 months and have only received 1. They may have the slowest or worst shipping department of any company I've ever ordered from. There is always some excuse as to why they cannot fulfill the boxes. Be smarter than me and avoid canceling your subscription after 5 months by not subscribing at all. Avoid them at all costs.

What an awful company

What an awful company. I paid for a box in SEPTEMBER and here it is DECEMBER and I still don’t even have tracking???? I’m disputing with my bank. I’ve given enough chances. I requested updates and refunds multiple times and they only did a partial. I am still waiting for this SCAM ARTIST company to send me my stuff. DO NOT BUY HERE. IVE POSTED ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA AND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES.

Shipping is behind

Shipping is at least 1-2 months behind. Not a fan of the artists they pick (the majority of it looks like amateur artists, which I have nothing against, but if I'm paying $45+ for a subscription, I would like some more experienced looking art). If you want to skip, you have to email them directly and you only get three skips for the entire year. Items feel and look cheap, certainly not worth the subscription price.

The only pros I can give it is that they do a wonderful job on spayed edges (they're always gorgeous) and the book choices are those people might not actively seek out, so you could find some hidden gems for your personal tastes.

Planning on cancelling soon, sadly. Just not worth the price.

Horrible

Horrible. If I could give 0 stars, I would. They do not ship you product, but they will absolutely take your money. You can contact them, but they may or may not get back to you. I would give anything if I could find them on Better Business Bureau and report them. Do not waste your money!

Pray that nothing goes wrong...

A box I ordered arrived damaged, impossible to have a replacement or a refund even though it is stated that you can in their policies !
Almost a month later I still have to send them requests because they will not give me an answer or a solution to my problem.

They won't ship your order, but they're plenty happy to take your money

I joined back in June and still have not received a single box as of October. One was lost by USPS, so whatever. But the other three were never sent. I never received a single notification. Logged in to my account to figure out why the October box was missing only to discover they claim they did ship them and now I've been charged. It's past the 15 day cut off (because, you know, how am I supposed to know they didn't ship them if I never received notice that they intended to. I just assumed they were doing their job and were just behind schedule). I contacted them but have not heard back and don't expect to. So now I'm out $200 or I try my hand at a charge back. Absolutely do not recommend.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. 0/0 would NOT recommend. This is as close to a scam as you can get and still receive a product. They don't ship when they say and they always have some excuse. They also don't update their website with ship dates and keep taking orders while they are three months behind.

Worst subscription service EVER

Ordered a monthly box, which is supposed to contain an exclusive customised book (which is meant to be a new release so you don’t get something you’ve already read) and a bunch of bookish goodies. They claim to ship “in the week of the 20th of the month”. When the date passed with no word, I contacted them and they danced around the truth - they’re permanently running THREE MONTHS behind schedule. I tried to cancel, but they refused because they have a message on the website saying there “may be some delays due to covid”. It eventually arrived, three and a half months late. The book is no longer a new release, due to it being so delayed, and I can’t spot a single customisation on it. The “goodies” are atrocious. I have never received a single item that was so poor quality from any other book subscription box - but ALL of these items are abysmal. There was a water bottle with NO LID, a strip of poorly stitched fabric (purpose unknown) and basically just a bunch of bits of paper and card in various sizes. Never, EVER buy from FaeCrate!!!! They’re expensive, unpleasant, unhelpful, poor quality, and frankly you might as well just go to your nearest bookshop and spend your money there. It was such a horrible experience that I honestly think THEY should have paid ME.

Won’t be returning.

Was subscribed to faecrate for roughly 3 months and bought two of those “hang over kits.” All my purchases were made in late June/early July and it’s now December and I’ve only just received one “hangover kit.” I paid for premium shipping and they used a company called “pirate ship” to send my stuff. They supplied the shipping details when it was sent and From the US to Australia it took 2 months for one box to get here. The art on the box was beautiful and I thought that it was gonna be all worth it but it was packed poorly and had very ugly and unoriginal items that seemed to have just been thrown in together. I am a subscriber to illumicrate and fairyloot and have never experienced the chaos/lousy service that faecrate has displayed. My advice, don’t be sold by their instagram pages. The product and service you receive will leave you grossly underwhelmed.

Always get damaged items

Always get damaged items. Their customer service sucks and they're always late. They do pre-orders more than 6 months in advance or wait with shipping until you don't have PayPal buyer protection anymore and then lie about not being able to give you a (partial) refund 'because the system deletes any payment information after six months'.

Three months to ship in-stock items

I ordered items that were already in stock, but only found out after I went hunting on their site that they were shipping out items during a three-month period. I hadn’t thought to look at shipping estimates when originally placing the order because it never crossed my mind that shipping of in stock items would take more than a week or two. When I contacted them for a refund, as the items were ordered as part of an Advent calendar, they said that all purchases were non refundable. How anyone could think this shipping and non-refund policy was in any way ethical or reasonable is beyond me.

I wish I could give zero stars

sorry but I'm wondering what's up with them? So far I've experienced able-ism and gaslighting from them. Beyond that canceled my order but absolutely do not pay me back my money.

First, I fully understand the world is in a crazy situation right now. But that doesn't account for bad communication. Packages and products can be delayed, I totally understand that.

I pre-ordered a product from them back in February. It should have been send out late June/ early July. When that didn't happen I didn't think much of it. Delays can happen. For a while I forgot all about it until the end of September.

I checked my email and there was zero correspondence regarding my order. So I emailed them, just to get an update and a possible refund because this is way beyond the initial waiting time. What I got back what pretty rude. Telling me I should just read their news update emails or check social media.

I wasn't sighed up to their newsletter and their updates are basically a lot of spam talking about their newer products. Forcing you to scroll all the way down to get a tiny bit of information about the thing you ordered. Let alone that I shouldn't be forced to sign up to their social media to get updates. As someone who works for a company that sends out products too I know it's not difficult to just gather the emails of people that pre-ordered a certain product and send them a pointed email with clear communication about their product alone.

I emailed back just requesting a refund because it doesn't look like they're going to do any better or deliver what I bought any time soon. What happened next was a whole Sh!Tshow of boarding abusive message from them costumer service that doesn't respond to my actual questions.
