Slowest conveyancing solicitors in East Anglia

This has to be the slowest and perhaps incompetent conveyancing firm in East Anglia. I was trying to purchase a house in Lowestoft for which they represented the vendor. They promised things which did not take place. For example after a long wait they told the estate agent draft contracts would be sent out the following week, that they were all in hand. That took nearly a month. It took them 16 weeks to discover there was an issue with the title that meant the property was un-sellable. Unless pushed multiple times they were un-communicative

Very professional and efficient service

After unsuccessfully struggling for hours to use the gov.uk app for personal verification purposes I contacted Fairweather Law for assistance. Charlotte Fenn-Nicholls from their Ipswich office answered my call for assistance and within no time at all arranged a time for me to visit her office. She managed the verification process professionally and efficiently and Completely eliminated the stress and frustration that I had experienced in trying to manage the process myself. I was more than very pleased with the service given.

We had our offer accepted on a house…

We had our offer accepted on a house purchase on 15 September 2025 and from the begining Tom Ramsay from the Framlingham office was proactive and professional and he guided me through the process in detail and gave clarity on all the processes. Following our RICs level 3 survey and drone survey he liaised efficiently with the vendors solicitors on all matters. Throughout he made himself available whenever I tried to call - even if he was busy he set aside time asap thereafter so we could catch up on any queries. for AML I provided all the information on source of funds and didnt need to go into further detail. When I raised the matter of exchange in December 2025 he kept pushing the other solicitors to get it across the line. we exchanged on 23 December on the last day possible and we will complete later in January 2026. I have no doubts completion will happen on the day agreed. I would thoroughly reccomend Fairweather law as fantastic solicitors if you are buying a house but also if you are selling as well. Tom Ramsay always went the extra mile and ensured we exchanged when it was required. His colleague Andrew Wardle was also indispensable when Tom was on AL and ensured all matters were progressed. They are in the words of the agent for the vendors the best solicitors by a country mile in suffolk but I would argue I would use them for a purchase anywhere in england. He is also our solicitor for a house my son is purchasing and the matters are progressing well. Sometimes when you see all the facts it is so clear that they were the right choice for us and our son as well. Dont hesitate for a moment to use their services. They are mid priced so not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. You can be sure you are in safe hands with Fairweather Law and Tom Ramsay is a great solicitor in the firm but there are other great solicitors in the firm as well. I was going to wait until completion before writing the review but I saw no reason to delay as I believe and know completion will transact on the correct date of that I have no doubts.Fairweather law may be a smaller firm but they do care for all clients at all times so I would urge you to consider them where ever your purchase or sale takes place. Thank you to all the team at Fairweather law and special thanks to Tom and Andrew. We have bought our 1st home!

Highly recommend Trent Hobden at…

I was recommended Trent Hobden at Fairweather Law while in the middle of a house purchase, my previous conveyancing solicitor had been unresponsive for six weeks despite repeated follow-ups and with the completion deadline fast approaching I was worried it wouldn’t happen in time. Transferring my instruction to Trent was the best decision I could have made; from the outset he called me personally, explained the process clearly and assured me he would do everything possible to complete before Christmas, which was less than four weeks away! Throughout the process Trent and his assistant kept me fully informed. Documents were sent promptly with clear guidance making everything straightforward - today is 18th December and I’m delighted to say my purchase has completed. I’m so grateful to Trent and his team for their professionalism, efficiency and dedication in making this happen. I only wish I’d had this recommendation from the start - but we live and learn! I would wholeheartedly recommend Fairweather Law.
