For a trip we have been dreaming about for years and putting off for one reason or another, the online choice was always overwhelming. An opportunity came up for a last minute trip for a Safari, following a friends recommendation we were introduced to Lucie. After one quick phone call explaining our 'needs' and 'wants', she provided an itinerary that met with all of them.
The trip was exceptional, everyday a 'pinch-me' moment! I couldn't recommend the service enough.

After struggling for many months to know where to start booking our holiday to Kenya on my own, someone recommended Far & Wild. From then on it was a breeze. My husband and I told Ben what we were looking for and he understood the brief immediately and within a few days it was all booked. We had a 2 week adventure with our 12 and 10 year old visiting Nairobi, The Masai Mara, Laikipia, and Lamu. We all thought the holiday was amazing -a real trip of a lifetime. Far & Wild have a great app which details everything you need to know about your holiday which was really useful even when we were offline in Kenya. The team were also on hand while we were away to answer any questions we had. You really get the personal touching the trip was very child friendly. Definitely recommend.

We were so incredibly lucky to travel around Africa for 6.5 weeks in July & August 2023. We cannot recommend Alistair & Louise at Far & Wild enough. Their knowledge, organisational skills, calmness and being on hand to answer any questions throughout our holiday were incredible.

We covered lots of different things, Safari drives and walking safari in Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia self drive, chilling on the beaches in Manda Bay & Mozambique. All of this with a 14, 12 and 7 year old. The team made us feel at ease with everything we were taking on, even the things outside our comfort zone. Nothing was too much trouble and we will be using them for future family adventures.

Just back from a fabulous self-drive trip to Namibia. We were met at the airport on arrival and taken to our first night's accommodation for a personal briefing (thanks Angie) and a really useful car-hire handover (thanks Marshall) before the four of us set off on our 16-day trip. The itinerary, accommodation, information and support (which included an emergency pre-paid cell phone!) was excellent. The standard of customer service from all involved was outstanding. We had an amazing holiday and would definitely book with Far and Wild again.

We have just returned from our Safari in Tanzania organised by Alistair at Far & Wild to celebrate my 50th birthday. We cannot recommend Alistair and his team enough. Every detail was planned perfectly and the trip far exceeded our expectations. We chose to stay under canvas during our safari but to call our accommodation tents does not do them justice, all were more luxurious to many hotels we have stayed in. Waking up to the beautiful scenery, sunrises and wildlife right outside our door was absolutely wonderful. The area was patrolled all night so we never felt any concern being so close to nature. We were very well looked after by everyone, the food was fantastic and the bed turn down service with hot water bottles when we needed them was a real bonus. All 4 camps we stayed in held the same level of service. We finished off our holiday staying by the beach at Zanzibar where we switched our view from wildlife to the ocean.
Thank you Alistair for making this trip one we will not forget and we have already spoken about organising the next one with you!

So pleased we chose Ben at Far & Wild, to help us in our quest to experience our first Safari. We had the most wonderful experience, to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, (marked at both the lodge & hotel with cakes & celebratory singing & dancing for us) Every detail went above & beyond our expectations. Spending 2 nights in Nairobi allowed us to visit the National Park, Sheldrick Centre & The Giraffe Centre. Then the transition on to the Masai Mara, staying at the Leopard Hill camp for 4 nights. Absolutely stunning! I’m sure the accm & staff can’t be rivalled. We feel so privileged to see all of the Big 5, during our drives, with our expert guide Solomon. We also did a Hot Air Balloon with breakfast in the bush. Then on to The Residence in Zanzibar (our suggestion) for 6 nights. This was in itself, 5* luxury as promised, although given a choice again, we would choose somewhere closer to Stone Town. Again, a full itinerary of excursions, including a Stone Town tour, with our expert guide Latifa. A visit to Prison Island with its giant tortoise’s & a half day trip to Sandbanks, with picnic freshly cooked on the beach by our captain. (See pictures on my Facebook profile - Debbie Wright).

Lucie and the team at Far & Wild organised the most amazing trip of a lifetime for us to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Lucie took the time to really understand our requirements and budget and suggested a brilliant itinerary for Botswana. What I particularly loved was that she had visited the camps and could speak from personal experience. I wouldn't have changed a thing! Far and Wild always read my mind and provide a fantastic service with accommodation perfectly suited to my needs. Forever helpful, remarkably available often at all hours and endlessly patient in finding the perfect fit I cannot praise enough. Their knowledge of Africa is supreme and I highly recommend them for adventurous, bespoke experiences.

We have just returned from a week in South Luangwa, organised by Lucie from Far & Wild. It was our first safari and I cannot express how utterly brilliant it was. Even from the first night we arrived, I knew it was going to be the best experience.

What made it superb was the individual tailoring Lucie and the team made to our booking. She took time to understand our likes and dislikes and what we wanted from the trip. Made totally possible because these guys know what they’re talking about - they’ve all been to the camps and can tell you their personal experience. It makes SUCH a difference. There was not one thing I would change about our holiday. We are already in discussions with Lucie for our next adventure.

Epic family adventure in Kruger National Park in Aug 2023. I just wanted to say a personal thankyou to Lucie Thaxter and the team at Far & Wild.
Our holiday was exactly what we needed as a family after a very turbulent 2 years. We felt looked after, listened to, tiny details were taken care of us. I gave Lucie a budget and the team and Far and Wild located the perfect holiday for us.
Our Safari camp (Simbavati, Riverside Lodge) and experience was exceptional and my children (ages 15 and 12) had literally the best time.
Please, please get in contact and personally ask for Lucie, she is a font of all knowledge and helped with the whole holiday and experience from start to finish!

Alistair helped us put this two week holiday together and, given that we were going somewhere a little off the beaten track, it was great to speak to someone who really knew the country. Stunning scenery, gorgeous beaches, comfortable and characterful places to stay, memorable activities/hiking, lovely guides and drivers. All in all, a great experience.

Lucie Thaxter completely understood what we wanted to do and her suggestions for venues were absolutely spot on. Her knowledge and expertise are second to none. Would trust her recommendations every time.

I have always wanted to go on safari and really had no idea how it all worked. Lucie was great, advising and giving options - she worked with our budget and ticked every single box!! Our safari was sensational and above and beyond expectation…. I cannot recommend Lucie highly enough!

Lucie organised the most amazing and special honeymoon for us in Cape Town, Timbavati National Park and Mozambique. From start to finish it was out of this world and unbelievably spoiling. The time and effort that had gone into the planning was evident with every small detail. We saw the big 5 animals on our first game drive whilst on safari and the places we stayed throughout the trip were unspoilt and wonderful. We will never forget this trip and we highly recommend Far & Wild to you all for your next adventures.

We just had the most INCREDIBLE honeymoon in Kenya organised by the team at Far and Wild! Special thanks to Louise and Ben for taking the time to arrange a 2 week bespoke trip for my husband and I. They arranged 4 different lodges/hotels across Kenya, each with their own special touches. Our trip started in the Masai Mara, then to Somburu, with an added trip to Reteti the elephant Sanctuary which we highly recommend! We then went to a Rhino Sanctuary where we were the only guests in an intimate 3 cabin lodge which was super special. Finally we ended in Lamu at the glorious Peponi Hotel, the team knew who we were which meant the hotel felt like home almost immediately! We loved every second of this trip and appreciate the time taken to organise all the transfers, activities and hotels over the two weeks. They also have a great app which we could use to see our itinerary through the trip. Thanks again guys!!

We have just returned from the most fabulous trip in the world . From the moment we contacted Far and wild the service was impeccable. A tailor made trip that incorporated all my dreams . Our trip included multiple destinations and all travel was seamless .
The communication between the team and us was also fantastic and nothing was ever too much trouble . We only returned , 2 days ago and we are using far and wild to plan our next trip .
