The most thorough and comprehensive site of its kind (and I’ve used a few!)
The range of resources and now the workspaces to store materials, and the suggestions that pop up based on what I’ve researched (i.e, the history of a particular street) are always relevant and helpful in expanding my materials.

Instructions how to delete duplicate people on my tree
Jamie helped sort a problem on my findmypast tree. I had entered a family twice. Jamie showed me how to delete one of them.
This has helped me to gradually sort other parts of my tree, which I will continue with.

I signed up for the free trial and paid…
I signed up for the free trial and paid the amount asked. I then tried to see what i paid for, then it came up that i had to pay extra for this. This is a con, and it then also showed that payments were for a year.There is no way i am paying this

The date of birth on 2002-2024 electoral records are not very good and sometimes it has people on there own so you think they might have died split up only to find them living on their own at same address

I used it on a 7 day free trial. I didn’t continue as I found the information that I needed and find the subscription fees expensive. The search facilities are wide and varied but I did find certain information missing, including birth, marriage and death details for family members (including myself!) so not sure why that would be the case. If you can find the info is does take a while to work out how to add it to a family tree etc but I got there in the end

A good selection of sources and good service
FindMyPast has a very wide range of databases to search and some give access to scans of original records.
They also allow subscribers to upload trees and search other trees to aid co-working.
On the few minor occasions when I have used their support I have found it to be quick and helpful. They made it obvious that they knew what they were doing and wanted to resolve any difficulties.

Be very wary if signing up to anything…
Be very wary if signing up to anything with this company. I saw a free trial advert which I took up, understanding I would be charged after the trial (one week). As predicted I forgot to cancel before the end of the trial week, I was then charged £16.99 which is fair enough, I then went into the site to cancel and cancelled my subscription. What I didn't notice was the subscription didn't end till May 2027. So the next month I was charged again, which made me go back and look more closely.
I'd used it for a few days in the trial and a couple of times in the month I knew I'd paid for. I then had no further use for it and I knew that would be the case when I took the trial.
The free trial advert makes the monthly payment very prominent, which sort of reassures you that it's then followed by a monthly payment, and I guess I assumed that as so many subscriptions work on a monthly basis, this would be the same. It turns out to be an annual commitment.
I contacted them to explain and admit my error, they advised I could terminate but with a £35 cancellation charge.
I appreciate the terms are there to be read but I think they are on thin ice with the structure of the free trial advert, and no mention on the main ad of the cancellation fee.
The site itself is excellent, it's a shame it's let down by such a subscription system, which to be honest feels a bit underhand. I haven't decided whether to take it further but just be mindful if you sign up. I also note I'm not the only one to have this experience.

A really useful family tree research site…
A really useful family research site which is easy to use and navigate. I have been a subscriber for many years. My only complaint is that some sources which were accompanied by images of original documents now seem to have been reduced to transcriptions only, thus bringing in another layer of possible error.

This is so much clunkier than a particular competitor I shall not name. Trying to edit family relations when the AI gets it wrong is less than intuitive. And the Help Centre didn't seem to give me anywhere to ask the simple question, "How do I correct a family relationship?" Plenty of guidance on sources of information, very little on manipulating a complex tree.
