Second Time, same result

RE: Store manager Dean. Appointment on time for Oil Change, Alignment, Rotation, A/C Service. Quoted "a couple hours" told him quoted last time same but after 2 hrs nothing had been done. He said he was fully staffed and should be done as stated. I came back 3 hrs later and again, NOTHING had been done. Didn't seem concerned, only Fernando offered to personally see to service if I came back again.

Bad Faith to Unsuspecting Customers (Snakes)

I scheduled an appointment for my Volvo For an Oil Change, Transmission fluid drain and refill, and a top off of fluids. I also asked the internet how much an oil change cost because the website does not tell you. Well the internet said a High Mileage full synthetic oil change should be around 49.99 at Firestone. The next day I went to my appointment and gave them my car. However I was not given a price just told we will call you when it is done.Given the ads the internet showed me and the reddit community that told me there last oil change was 49.99 I left my vehicle with them thinking I was in safe hands.

1. When I returned to the shop I asked if the price I seen online is the price I will be charged I was laughed at then immediately apologized to and told it hasn't been that price for a long time.

2. When I looked at the email with the bill I told them I was in sticker shock at the price they were charging me which was like $126.00

3. They told me my transmission in sealed for life and they would not service it. Upon hearing this I called George's Volvo in Omaha and Transmission Pro's in Lincoln both these shop told me that is not just a myth but a total lie my specific transmission is sensitive and must be changed every 60,000-80,000 miles so sending me out the door with that advice with a car at 104,000 miles I could have easily gernaded the transmission off there advice.

4. They tried to tell me the reason why my Specific oil change costed so much is the type of car I drive (Volvo S60 T5). I know this car calls for one extra quart of oil and a Special filter that is often time $7-10 extra dollars but with that $20 I should have still been under $100 at most shops (N street lube $70, T.O Haus $70, Walmart $60-80). To be honest the only other place in town that has treated me like this is Jiffy Lube which is as bad of service cause they up-charge and prey on unsuspecting customers... Firestone you were very dishonest with me and used me as an unsuspecting customers that you could take advantage of.

5. Asked for fluid top off specifically my power steering fluid which was completely forgotten about I had to come back inside and ask for it. also no other fluids were checked. about the only nice extra thing you did without mention is air my tire up cool but no where near makes up for bad service.

In conclusion after coupon applied I was still charged $109.00 and to be honest after a shady experience like this I would advise everyone to steer clear of Firstone Complete Auto Care they are a bunch of snakes. I have decided to take this review to my bank and file for a charge-back as the service rendered was completely and utterly predatory.PLEASE IF YOUR SCROLLING THESE REVIEWS HEAR ME OUT.

This place is a complete scam

This place is a complete scam, and I want others to be aware of the experience I had.
On Tuesday, May 27th, I brought my 2024 Chevy Trax to Firestone for a routine oil change and tire rotation. My car had zero issues going in. The person who assisted me, a man with a mullet who I believe was the manager, handled my service. I left thinking everything was fine, but shortly after, I realized they had forgotten to put the oil change service sticker on my windshield. I returned to ask for one, and someone at the counter casually mentioned that “the techs usually forget to do that,” and that he’d “would have a serious talk with them about it.” I brushed it off saying that it's totally okay and it's normal to forget to put one on.
Later that same day, on my way to work, my check engine light came on which was strange, considering that my car is practically brand new. Concerned, I went to AutoZone that evening (Firestone was already closed) and had them run a diagnostic. They gave me a printout showing a P0171 code "System Too Lean (Bank 1)."
The next day, I returned to Firestone to report the issue. The same guy with the mullet was there. I explained what happened and that the light came on immediately after the oil change. He dismissed it, saying, “An oil change wouldn’t cause a check engine light,” and told me they didn’t even have an OBD2 scanner to read the code on my car which is shocking for an auto repair shop.
When I showed him the code I had gotten from AutoZone, he chuckled and offered me two options:
Pay $200 for a diagnostic that would take about 4 hours determining what's going on with my vehicle.
Or an alternative purchase of a fuel injector cleaner they were “promoting” for $130, suggesting it might help with carbon buildup.
At that point, I was convinced something wasn’t right. This car is new. There shouldn’t be any carbon buildup issues. So instead, I took my vehicle to Midway Chevrolet, the dealership I purchased it from. Their technician found the problem instantly: the dipstick wasn’t fully seated, a simple fix…
They confirmed it was likely left loose during the oil change and reassured me that no engine issue existed. They didn’t charge me a cent for any type of diagnosis.
The mechanic even mentioned that in some cases, third-party shops might leave something loose intentionally or not to make customers return and pay for unnecessary services.
This is what bothers me the most: many people trust shops like Firestone, a company that has been here for a long time and people who should trust them with their cars, not knowing the details of how things work. And instead of helping, this place seems to prey on that lack of knowledge to push expensive, unnecessary services. I would have paid $200 dollars for a service of just putting the dipstick back into its place that even I could have done if knowing that this was the issue.
Firestone, this is disgraceful. What you tried to pull here is unethical and unacceptable. I’m not letting this go. You caused me stress, wasted my time, and tried to charge me hundreds of dollars for a problem you created. I deserve some sort of compensation for the time wasted and the potential damage this would have caused my vehicle if I would have gone a long time leaving my vehicle unchecked.
I’m sharing this experience to warn others: Be cautious when dealing with this location.

Scheduled a fluid change

Scheduled a fluid change. Made an appointment for 10 am on a Thursday. By 4 pm hadn't heard from them. They told me they'd need another day to do this 2 hr job as they hadn't even started it yet. So, they left me without a car, scrambling for transportation to and from work for a day and weren't even considerate enough to call! These people are awful, disrespectful, and inept. Do NOT ever go there. They will not do the job and you will be left without transportation. Seriously, 2 days for a transmission fluid change? Wtf.

They closed shop early and my truck was inside garage. I got out of work drove in the hail store and no one called me they were closing early. They always take too long hours to do auto repairs on easy fixers. Because, they closed shop they did not honor my 65 rewards which, was the whole reason I went in on the day it was gonna expire. All they say, is. " I am sorry" lame excuse as always same thing with their warranty. They lie always.

Tire pressure monitors no longer work after tires replaced

December 2024 we had four new Firestone tires installed and afterwards the tire pressure monitors for all four tires did not work. We brought it back, they charged 50.00 to check the sensor, said it was fixed, brought it home and still no pressure monitor. We brought it back and again 50.00 fee and no monitor. Fast forward May 25, 2025. One of the new tires bulges at the sidewall so returned to replace the defective tire. Again, "don't worry we fixed the tire monitor" and again, still totally non functional. Terrible tires, terrible service, and no response to problems. Emailed corporate and customer service is apparently in Mumbai. I have sent the same invoices, answers to questions and data three times now and the auto reply is that they can't see the answers I am sending them.

Poor work provided on Nederland Ave in…

Poor work provided on Nederland Ave in Nederland TX. Appointments at 4 or after not recommended. Will try to talk you out of scheduling your appointment at that time. Will not provide service at their best just to rush and close. Got an alignment and saw how the worker was checking a tire while checking out. Drove to the parking lot across the street after rcvn services to see what the working may have been spraying over, found a nail in the tire the worker was spraying over/chkn. Assuming because they were ready to close he did not find it important to mention the sight of the nail. Went back the following week to get the nail removed and have another alignment done. In btwn time I lost absolutely no air from the tire per psi. After rcvn the tire repair my tire began to loose air the same day per psi. Returned the following day to have the tire checked and instead of fixing the poor repair they claimed there was a new puncture. Without trying to explain the type of puncture/show it, they insisted I should get a new tire and that they could not repair it. I cannot wait to clear and close my account with Firestone.

Bought my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT…

Bought my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT new at 2016. In October 2022 water pump gave out just 20 ft. from firestone so I got a new water pump at firestone. May of 2025 water pump went out again. Took it back to firestone and got confirmation. They said the warranty is only for a year. Keep in my I been doing at least 50 miles on average a day give or take. My O.E. pump lasted about 6 years and some months. The pump they installed (which i was unaware was a Napa part) lasted a little over 2 years and by the way the Napa part was over 230.00 dollars at 2022. An O.E. pump (Mopar) is 117.00 dollars at 2025. They was going to charge me over 600.00 dollars for a new pump and service. They was not going to try and give me a discounts for the over priced bad part that could not operate at least a full three years. This was firestone at Smyrna D.E. I am highly disappointed but this does not reflect the mechanics. This is strictly for the management that felt no responsibility for the bad experience. Time to find another repair station

Firestone Installs Incorrect Parts, Will Not Resolve Problem

Do not go to this location to have your car serviced. See below for why.

On January 12-13, 2023, the previous co-owner of my vehicle (2015 Jeep Patriot) had a front right axle replacement performed at Firestone Complete Auto Care in Rio Rancho, New Mexico (Store #014443). The incorrect part was installed at this time.

On April 28, 2024, I purchased the vehicle from the previous owner, a friend, who did not realize the incorrect part had been installed.

On March 3, 2025, I took my vehicle to Autonation Chrysler Jeep West in Golden, Colorado. There, it was diagnosed that Firestone had installed the wrong front right axle, damaging my transfer case. Total repairs were cited at roughly $2,400. The previous owner confirmed in a written statement that since the January 2023 work by Firestone Rio Rancho, no other work has been done to the right front axle.

On March 4, 2025, I spoke with John Flores, the general manager at this location. He said he needed time to look into it. On March 13, 2025, I spoke with John again, who said there was nothing he could do and that I should escalate this to Firestone Corporate. On that same day, I filed a formal complaint with Firestone Corporate customer service. On March 19, 2025, Jason H., Firestone’s New Mexico Area Manager, stated that he could not do anything. On March 20, 2025, Firestone corporate informed me that Regional Manager Farzan would contact me by March 24, 2025. No response was received. On March 27, 2025, Firestone Corporate informed me that the issue had been escalated to a division manager. No response was received.
As of this date, Firestone has failed to provide a resolution or respond to this issue.

I plan to file a case against Firestone in New Mexico civil court, but I hope that this can be resolved before that point. All information on the incorrect part and evidence has been provided to them. Although I was not the owner of the vehicle at the time Firestone performed the incorrect axle installation in January 2023, I am the current owner, and I am suffering direct and documented harm as a result of that negligent repair. This is not about a breach of contract, but rather negligence at this Firestone location, specifically, the improper installation of an incorrect axle part by Firestone that led to damage to the vehicle’s transfer case, totalling $2,400 in repairs now needed.

Do not get any work done at this location.

Screwed up my braking system

I took my Prius in for an alignment and when I picked it up there were three (3) warning lights on my dash! The "brake" light, the "traction control" light and the "ABS" light. NONE of these lights had been on when I dropped my vehicle at the Firestone on South Cooper in Arlington, TX. My regenerative braking no longer works; the battery continuously pushes power to the wheels even when I am stopped with my foot on the brake and my mileage has dropped from 450 miles per tank, to less than 300 miles due to the engine having to run more often to recharge the battery. I contacted Firestone and they told me that they were not going to fix the problem because they did an alignment and did not touch the brakes. However they DID overfill the brake reservoir - which they denied until I showed them the pictures of the overfilled reservoir. They spent 3 hours trying to reset the computer, but failed. I took it to a Toyota dealer and was told that for around $3000 they could fix the problem. Firestone refuses to do anything. I even bought the parts myself (at a cost of more than $1000.00) and asked them to simply install them - they refused. Firestone Complete Auto Care has failed to respond to 2324 complaint(s) filed against business according to the BBB. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST!

S. Main St. location in Akron, OH

I've been coming to this location for decades....and sadly watching it's decline. The store and waiting areas are filthy and trash is overflowing. Don't even bother going into the restroom.
They treat everyone as if customer expectations are unreasonable. It doesn't matter if you have an appointment or not...you WILL wait a long time. You ALWAYS need an alignment unless you have purchased their Lifetime Alignment, in which case you NEVER need an alignment. The entire experience is insulting, really. I will never go back again.
Poor Harvey Firestone must be spinning in his grave. :(

Thieves!

I brought my truck in for warranty tire service on 3/23/2025.I just noticed on 3/30/2025 that my transmission fluid dipstick was missing (stolen) because I check my fluid levels on Sunday nights. This is the only shop where I left my vehicle for service in the past 4 years, so I know it was taken here! I had to pay $85 for a replacement part!

Dave at Firestone in Forney it's great

I went to Firestone in Forney, TX. I usually check the reviews before I go to a place but I was busy with my 5-year-old that morning and I totally forgot. But I called and asked a price it was reasonable and cheap. I had them out for new tires that I had bought for my Jeep, they had a few people quit too that day I believe and then one resigned and one was sick. I believe he's the store manager his name is Dave, real cool guy, real helpful, real patient with me. And he was very professional but he was very caring and soft spoken. After I dropped it off he had called and asked if I could leave it because they had somebody else call in. I figured okay no biggie whatever as long as it gets done right? But he was still cool calm and Collective after all those people called in and quit. Never sounded or looked frustrated. It was just hey this is life it happens and I got to do what I got to do. But I saw all the reviews for the one in my town and they were terrible and this was after I dropped the Jeep off. So I was a little apprehensive to say the least lol. But I didn't get none of the negativity none of the bad work or attitude or anything else negative that everybody else was saying about that place. So I'm leaving them five stars and I just called them again to do an alignment on the same vehicle. So I'll definitely be using them again, especially if Dave is there

Beware of Upselling Tactics – Get a Second Opinion Before Agreeing to Repairs!

Firestone, East Lake, 2075 Roswell Road, Marietta, GA. 30068

I have a Lifetime Wheel Alignment with Firestone. On February 20, 2025, I received an email reminder from Firestone stating that it had been six months since my last alignment check on my 2017 Toyota. Since I have the Lifetime Wheel Alignment, both the check and any necessary adjustments are free.
I booked an appointment and visited the Firestone location at 2075 Roswell Road, Marietta, for my alignment check at 9 AM in March 2025. The process took about an hour. Afterward, a technician informed me that they had found a nail in my right rear tire that needed to be removed, costing around $30. While this seemed a bit pricey, the fee covered both removing the nail and repairing the tire. The technician also recommended replacing the brake fluid, stating that it appeared hazy, which would cost approximately $126. I was surprised by this since I had my brake fluid changed just three months ago.

Additionally, the technician claimed that my front brake pads and rotors needed replacement. He explained that Firestone recommends replacing both when pad thickness falls below 4mm, and they do not replace pads alone. The total cost, after a discount, would be about $500. However, I had my car serviced three months ago, during which the brakes were checked and deemed in good condition. I was advised to check them again after 5,000 miles, but I had only driven about 700 miles since then. This raised concerns about how quickly Firestone claimed the brake components had worn.

Feeling uneasy about these recommendations, I sought a second opinion. Before leaving Firestone, I inspected the nail in my tire—it looked like a new, silver-colored nail. I then took my car to Discount Tire, where I had purchased new tires a few months ago, and asked them to inspect and repair the tire. When I showed them the nail, I noticed it had turned black, no longer looking new. Discount Tire technicians examined the tire and found that the nail was only about 0.5 cm long and had not punctured the tire. This was a relief, but it also made me question whether the nail had been placed there intentionally.

Next, I visited the shop that had performed my maintenance three months earlier. Their technician inspected my brakes and found them to be in the same condition as before. The brake fluid was not hazy, and he explained that he typically recommends replacing brake pads when they have only 15-20% remaining. He also reiterated that I should check them again after 5,000 miles.
Final Thoughts:

My experience at Firestone left me skeptical about their recommendations. The discrepancies between their findings and those of other trusted technicians raise concerns about whether they were genuinely looking out for my vehicle’s well-being or simply trying to upsell unnecessary services. While I appreciate the free alignment check, I will be cautious about returning to Firestone for any additional services in the future. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to costly repairs.

Avoid the Round Rock Firestone—they’re dishonest and incompetent.

They damaged working parts, lied about it, and refused to fix the issues they caused despite us spending over $2,000, then gave an absurd quote to repair their own mess.

We took my son’s car there for an overdue oil change (maintenance light on, no other indicators). As regular customers, we trusted their courtesy check-up citing worn tires, a weak battery, and brake pads, which we replaced all since he was returning to school. The next day, the tire pressure light came on during his drive home, though the tire pressure was fine. I called Round Rock, noting the sensors were fine on arrival, but they denied touching them despite charging for a TPMS valve service kit. A different Firestone found two broken TPMS sensors and contacted Round Rock, who falsely claimed the car arrived that way—a lie, as I’d driven it issue-free the day before, and their own report mentioned no warning lights.
