Upon arrival, we greeted your staff and received zero response. One staff member was sat behind the counter on his phone whilst the other looked asleep with her head on the desk! My partner tried to speak with them a second time and was met with a blank stare and zero communication once again. Lots of dead fish in tanks and the staff do not seem at all bothered. Absolutely appalling service, won’t be visiting here again!

Recently I have sought advice for problems I was having with my pond. The advice given has been invaluable. Ben, the assistant in the Windlesham shop, has been excellent. How refreshing to get someone who is enthusiastic and helpful. He really knows his stuff and was only to pleased to give me lots of information. I will be very keen to purchase my new fish and pond products from this store.

Wasn't going to write anything but felt just to get off my chest here goes. I'm new to aquatics but as anything I choose to do in life, If I'm gonna do it il do it properly and become an absolute geek in the topic. I'm hooked already and really look forward to the precious 1 day I have off per week to do "fishy stuff" I've spent over 200 quid in your store at DOBBIES Nuneaton in the last 2 weeks but promise I won't be spending a penny more. After the 1st visit I thought maybe your staff are having an off day but 2nd visit today and no it wasn't they just cannot be bothered. 3 staff stood behind counter in a tiny store do not engage with people you have to go get them from the counter if you want something. Today one of the guys even raised his eyes in despair that I was asking him to come get some fish for me to buy. I manage a retail business obviously not the same area but if my staff made someone feel the way I did trying to SPEND MONEY in your store today, they would be on warning and retraining being done. The 3 in there do not care, aren't bothered about customers if they spend or not. I'd be interested to see if they are one of your better selling stores because I'd put my FISH on it they are down at the bottom half of your spreadsheet. Anyway I've never found it so hard to spend MONEY. And in this store inparticular will never again. You gotta do better than this guys. And if the guy wants to know who I am then I'm the guy asking silly questions about shrimp that seemed to have annoy him !!!

Ordered a wave maker as mine died and they advertised next day delivery.
I didn't get next day delivery. It turned up 2 days later.
It turns out they're just a drop shipper and their supplier actually fulfills the order on their behalf.
They offered a £30 refund to compensate the corals I lost. Which would not cover replacement, I emailed them picture of the corals and they dropped their offer to £10. I replied highlighting my disgust and they have not bothered to reply.
Don't order from them if you need an item urgently.

I first visited here (Worcester shop) 18 months ago straight after I had to sadly say goodbye to my 14 year old Rottie, Benny.
I bought a beautiful red tailed shark and quickly named him Benson. He's thriving!
Fast forward to today, me and my wife drove from Gloucester, to take a look at possible new tank mates. We weren't greeted at all on arrival, no biggie, just not good customer service or at all polite.
We continued to browse and came across a few very murky looking tanks. A little further on, there was a tank with about 20 fish of which 5 were on their sides on the bottom, struggling. I went and said to one of the staff that there were a few casualties in said tank. The response I got was unbelievable! " Yes, we know. We had 40 delivered yesterday and that's all that's left, they were poorly."
I was enraged! A life is life even if it is only a poor little fish. Why were they not removed, just left to be gorged on?
It really upset me and I will never return.
I sadly was too angry to take photos. I wish I had. Maidenhead Aquatics need to choose staff that care!

Purchased a piece of driftwood along with a new tank, got home opened the new tank and realised the piece was going to be too big. Took it back to the store to exchange and was informed that they wont take them back because we could have got it from anywhere! even though we had a receipt and the guy remembers us buying it! its a non returnable item.... but no sign up in the store to say this nor were we told it! Very disappointed loyal customer...... poor management decision!

I have kept fish for many years. The Huntingdon store was very impressive. Clean tanks, healthy stock and friendly staff. Wheelchair accessible. Highly recommend

Well, not far from appalling.
First I was sold a pump either damaged or not suitable for purpose..
Emailed to ask advice and frankly they weren't serious about helping me..

Been to several Maidenhead now due to having 3 large fish tanks to stock, each and every store has given either wrong or different advice…. On several fish, staff act as if they know what they are talking about but most make it up as they go along. Seem friendly but are only interested in the sale. Each store have different time on how long tank should be established before adding live stock. I’m not a first time tank keeper and being told what I can and can’t do ect when had more professionals speak up on this. Like keeping several shrimp breeds coton maidenhead stated I have to have only one bread of shrimps to not cross breed, where as Milton Keynes sell cross breed shrimp and happy to sell different breeds together in same bag! After stating they to be seperate for 2 different tanks.

Excellent service , excellent advice , had everything I needed . Busy on weekends ! Don’t know how the staff stay so positive and welcoming - amazing !!
Visited a few times in the weekdays and it’s a far calmer experience, but whether weekend or weekday the staff are helpful and positive with friendly knowledgeable vibe .

Really helpful staff at the FairOak branch - got us up and running with a garden pond, and prices not more than buying online because they operate online too.

I went to the Leicester store and a guy called James was amazing! So knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for helping me set up my salt water aquarium. Your advice has been incredible. Will definitely be coming back.

I went to Maidenhead Aquatics in Woburn Sands. I was setting up an Aqua Oak large cube aquascape aquarium for the first time, the first time I went to Maidenhead I spoke to William, he was really helpful advising of the things I would need, answering all my questions. When I was setting up I went back and again spoke to William, he was really on the ball with his information and helped me pick the right things for a successful Aquascape aquarium. The store is well stocked and the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. I am currently waiting for the new set up tank to settle and will be going back to get my fish in a couple of weeks. I would highly recommend for any serious fish keepers ! Thanks Maidenhead !

Popped in today for a few bits. Have recently moved to the area so only second time been in. A nice selection of fish and all looked well tended, although there were a couple of dead Sterbai corydoras in tank. Shop was busy, so I don't suppose anyone had noticed.
However, what really disappointed me, was hearing a member of staff recommend to who was obviously a very novice fish keeper, to do a 'fish in'cycle. Really? And with a Betta, too. And do you really think a Molly would be a good tank mate? No. I wasnt clear what size tank the gentleman had ( who appeared to be buying for a child), Im not sure the staff did, either.
These are living creatures, they deserve better. It is not hard to cycle a tank without using fish, and far less upsetting than seeing stressed fish dying due to ammonia poisoning!

The Brigg one is appalling, I went the other day and the condition of the stock was not good, the manager seemed to be spending more time with a female member of staff than the customers. It's a shame as they had a nice, helpful man in there earlier in the year, he advised me on suitable plants for my pond and how to look after the fish I was given. Will not go back as the manager made me feel very uncomfortable.

Purchased fish and garden products from several outlets. Met up with Craig Saunders at the Cheddar store who made our day. Seems to know it all ... certainly helped us so, so much .... also can crack a joke or two. Unfortunately he is only at the Cheddar store on Thursday and Sunday.

Very good aquatics retailer that we have used for many different things over the years. They have to deal with all sorts of customers, but I've always seen them do the right thing. The only minor criticism is that the different stores can be highly variable in terms of what they stock, but this is also due to size. Service generally always good though, and livestock in good condition. If you find a good local one you can always rely on them. Special mention to the (fairly) new central Sheffield branch which has an excellent range of wet and dry goods, and all fish we've sourced from there have done really well.

good layed out shop first purchase of fish today they all look healthy and the staff at polhil seem knowledgable and very polite helpful. litle dispointed as took a couple of very healthy big fish a salvini cichlid and a jack dempsey but didnt get offered a swap or even a discount. my own fault as should have asked first and they were already put in they big tank or would have got the salvini back as not a common fish and in very good condition but my other aquatic shop didnt have space at time. never brought a cichlid back and not got credit wont be doing that again as i like to grow them out to a good size and return if they get a bit to much of a bully.
As you should know no 2 are the same nature so if I have a fish that is stressing my others out I will sell them on normally to breeders or local fish shops for credit. I’ve been keeping and breeding them over the years 30 plus so yah lying it your advise but I don’t get fish I can keep on current tanks. These two were causing mayhem hench me getting rid of them but my local shops hasn’t got room for a couple of weeks and local breeder wasn’t interested in the JD and I only had a male salvini cheers
