Very frustrating experience as a freelancer
I had a very disappointing experience using Fiverr as a freelancer. The platform feels flooded with spam messages and potential scammers, while it’s extremely difficult to find real, serious clients.
Many messages I receive are vague, generic, and clearly not from genuine buyers. There seems to be very little effective protection or filtering against this kind of activity, which wastes a lot of time and creates constant uncertainty.
At the same time, getting visibility for legitimate services is challenging, especially for newer sellers. It feels like the system is not balanced in favor of freelancers who are trying to build real, honest work relationships.
Overall, the platform needs much stronger moderation and better protection against scams, as well as improved support for freelancers trying to find real clients.

Urgent Help Needed; Fiverr Withholding My Funds After 90 Days
I am writing to seek urgent assistance regarding my experience with Fiverr.
My account was disabled, and despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue with their support team, I have not received any meaningful help. I have contacted support several times, but no positive action has been taken.
It has now been over 90 days, which is the period Fiverr states funds should be released. However, my earnings money I worked very hard for are still being withheld.
I have also seen many similar complaints on Trustpilot from other users who experienced the same issue, which is very concerning.
This situation is extremely urgent for me. I am currently seriously ill and need to undergo surgery. I depend on these funds not only for my medical treatment but also to care for my child.
Fiverr informed me that my account was reopened, but it is still not functioning, and I am unable to access it to withdraw my funds.
I kindly request Trustpilot to help escalate this matter and reach out to Fiverr on my behalf so my account can be properly restored for withdrawal or my funds released immediately.

I was prepared to buy the premium package. The seller told me not to, saying she wanted to make sure I did not pay for anything unnecessary. That made it sound as though my needs might fall into a lower package, or at least somewhere near the prices shown on the gig.
I also specifically warned her that I had dealt with freelancers before who advertise one set of prices, gather project details, and then come back with a much higher quote. She assured me that she does not do that and that there would be no surprise price jumps.
After I sent a detailed video explaining my project, she quoted me $650.
So the problem is not confusion. The problem is that she said the right things to keep me engaged, then did exactly what she said she would not do.
That is not transparency. That is not respect for a buyer’s budget. And it is certainly not a good-faith way to begin a working relationship.

I had a very frustrating experience with Fiverr as a seller.
My account was temporarily restricted, which I understand can happen if there are policy issues. But the real problem started after that.
Even though my account was not immediately permanently disabled, Fiverr completely blocked my ability to withdraw my own earned funds. These are payments I received from clients after completing real work.
I contacted support multiple times over several weeks. Most of the time, I received delayed responses or no clear answers. Eventually, they told me my account was disabled due to “violations” and later mentioned “suspicious activity” related to my payout method — without providing any clear explanation or proof.
What’s most concerning is this:
They are holding my money and not allowing me to withdraw it.
As a freelancer, that’s unacceptable. This is income I worked for, not some bonus or credit.
Support responses feel generic and final, with no real way to resolve the issue or even properly understand what went wrong.
Fiverr might work fine until something goes wrong — but when it does, you realize how little control you actually have over your account and your earnings.

If you hear Fiserv or any 3rd party working for them just run run and never trust them!! You will end up losing so much money
⚠️ Business Owners Beware of Fiserv and Their Third-Party Agents
Fiserv allowed a third-party company called Private Client Leasing, owned by Joshua, to open a merchant account under our business name without our authorization. The salespeople claimed they could lower our credit card processing fees, but we clearly told them not to proceed and kept our Clover account.
Despite that, an account was still opened through Fiserv, and our bank account started getting charged every month. The charges were small at first so they went unnoticed, but by the time we discovered them they had taken more than $2,000 from our account.
When we contacted Fiserv directly, instead of helping resolve a clearly unauthorized account, they refused to assist and kept sending us back to the same third-party company that caused the problem — Private Client Leasing.
We called repeatedly and no one at Fiserv took responsibility or helped fix the situation. The third party ignored calls and never refunded the money.
Allowing third-party agents to open accounts under a business name and then refusing to intervene when something goes wrong is extremely alarming.
After researching this further, we discovered multiple lawsuits and complaints against companies operating this way.
We are now pursuing legal action regarding this situation.
My advice to every business owner:
If someone claims they can lower your processing fees through Fiserv, be extremely cautious. Some of these third-party companies appear to be using Fiserv’s system to trap businesses into accounts they never intended to open.
This situation cost us over $2,000 and months of frustration.
Be very careful before giving any financial information to companies connected to this system.

After I cancelled, Fiverr said it will take another 10 business days just to get my money refunded. I couldn't even leave a review for the waste of a freelancer after. This is really bad business

I placed an order worth $1,490.72 on Fiverr (Order #FO7295522C5C5) for custom icon design services. The seller delivered icons that were clearly copied from Pinterest and other public sources. These same icons are already being used by other people online, proving that the work was not original.
When I tried to resolve the issue, Fiverr disabled my account without proper explanation. This prevented me from contacting the seller or requesting a refund.
This is extremely unfair. Fiverr allowed a seller to deliver copyrighted content and then blocked me from resolving the issue after taking my money.
I have full proof, including screenshots showing that the delivered icons are not custom and are publicly available online.
I am requesting a full refund and proper action against the seller.

A nightmare. The freelancer I hired showed up for only one of two work sessions (billed at $45.70 each) but I've never received a refund from FiveRR. A small amount but it's the principle. They keep stalling. Worse, they advised me to drop the dispute I filed against them with Citibank and so I did. But now, Citi says there's nothing they can do. I used Fiverr to find a French-to-English translator for translating my diploma for my university application abroad. Unfortunately, the translation was very poor. I am not a professional translator myself, but even as a fluent English speaker, I noticed numerous mistakes. It seemed like the translator had relied on Google Translate. Fiverr is not a platform for high-quality translation services.

Very disappointing experience with Fiverr. I joined the platform as a buyer and paid for a website service in good faith, expecting professional support and protection. Suddenly my account was restricted without any clear or reasonable explanation. At the same time, the website I paid for stopped working, which has affected my work and caused financial stress.
I have contacted customer support multiple times but the responses have been slow, unclear, and not solution-oriented. Instead of helping a paying customer resolve an urgent issue, I feel ignored and unfairly treated.
This situation has made me lose trust in the platform. Buyers should feel safe when making payments, not worried about losing access to their account or services without proper communication.

Fiverr doesn't vet their jobbers. Waste of time and effort
Too you can't give Fiverr negative stars. Their customer service will lie to you.
I spent more than a week getting information from one of their jobbers. We settled on prices for several projects and the offers were forthcoming. The next morning before I could get to the bank and transfer funds, the jobber vanished. At first I thought it was a computer glitch on their site because they sent me a email prompt to finish/accept the offers. But nothing worked except for 'Elvis has left the building' dialog box.
In other words, I spent a week trying to qualify someone for a gig with a jobber Fiverr hadn't vetted. Either the jobber was a crafty bot or fraudster. Either way Fiverr didn't do its job.
After dozens of messages to customer neglect, they only gave me a partial answer--essentially a lie by omission. Even more suspicious I suddenly had dozens of hits for my job. Originally there'd been only a couple jobbers that fit my description.
Luckily I didn't lose any money, but a did waste a whole bunch of time on their site. I can't get back my time.
I delivered the work, client got refunded. Fiverr didn't contact me.

I used to really like Fiverr, but it looks like they are not doing any screening against AI / Chatbots. I've contacted a designer and based on the responses it does not seem to be a human. It's a pity because the idea of the platform is great, but this is frustrating, especially as the account also had good reviews.
Customer support does not exist
I just spent two hours trying to make a payment for an offer that I received from my accountant. Whenever I clicked "Accept" it showed me the message saying "An error occurred. Please try again or contact support." I looked up this problem on the internet, asked all AI bots, I even tried contacting fiverr's own AI agent, which they generously call "Customer Support". No result whatsoever, all I got was general recommendations to clear browser, use a different browser, add/remove payment methods, use different payment method. Finally I decided to try iOS app. Now, surprise, surprise! The mobile app shows "Offer expired" and the browser still shows the offer is active and acceptable. I really think that fiverr should give me credit for finding and reporting this bug.

I was permanently banned from selling on Fiverr because of old accounts I created years ago as a teenager — not with any fraudulent intent, just immaturity. I invested significant time building a professional seller profile: gig videos, thumbnails, service descriptions, everything ready to launch. When I appealed honestly, explaining my situation and the innocent mistake, Fiverr refused to reconsider with a blanket policy response. No human review, no second chance. I'm a young freelancer from Kerala, India trying to build income for my family through genuine skilled work. The platform's rigid, automated enforcement punishes people with no malicious history the same way it punishes actual fraudsters. I deserved at least one fair human review of my case. Fiverr lost a hardworking, quality seller over a teenage mistake. Extremely disappointed.

I had a very disappointing experience with Fiverr regarding a website project.
In December I hired a Vetted Pro seller to build a WordPress website for my business. I deliberately chose a vetted professional and paid around €1600 because I expected reliability and quality.
At first communication was good, but later I discovered that large parts of the website were hard-coded, which made it impossible for me to edit important content or add legally required information. As someone without technical knowledge, I only discovered this when I started trying to update the site myself.
I had already sent the freelancer a list of issues on December 23, but the problems were never properly resolved. Eventually the freelancer stopped responding completely for more than 5–6 weeks.
Because my business could not stay offline any longer, I had to rebuild the entire website with help from someone else.
What disappointed me the most was Fiverr’s handling of the situation. Despite providing screenshots, proof of unresolved issues, and proof that the freelancer stopped responding, Fiverr stated that they could not issue any refund because the order was outside the 14-day grace period. Their only solution was Fiverr credits, which are not helpful when you no longer plan to use the platform.
I expected more protection when hiring a Vetted Pro seller. Unfortunately, in my case Fiverr’s policies seemed to protect the seller rather than the customer.
I hope Fiverr improves how they handle situations where freelancers become unresponsive and deliver work that clients cannot reasonably use.
