Steer clear!! Had a really terrible time with this…

Had a really terrible time with this company who are administrating my uncles estate. Terrible communication, very disorganised, lack of knowledge about the basic HMRC processes. Have lodged a complaint and are currently about to go through legal ombudsman. Steer clear!!

Shoddy service throughout.

Shoddy service throughout what should have been a straightforward sale of my mothers property, constantly having to chase up to get any progress of any sort. Communication or lack of would be my biggest bugbear, and on the rare occasions I was able to speak to my representative, I was spoken to in a way I found condescending. This company should refocus on communication.

I think 1 star is to much to give to…

I think 1 star is to much to give to Fisher Jones Colchester, Gayle very rarely answers call or emails,
I reviewed all the correspondence again in this file and it looks like the buyer’s solicitor Gayle missed our emails with management pack, protocol forms and freehold register and plan. They have also missed our emails with replies. Various emails were sent in August and September. I have saved automatic acknowledgments from Gayle when these emails were sent, so I know they were received. Gayle does not reply to me. This is from a vendors solicitor, who have repeatably re sent replies to enquiries.. I have now had to threaten reporting her to the SRA as she is about to lose the purchase for her client who I might add will be homeless at the end of this month due to her incompetence.
The writer of this email is a senior sales progressor in central london with 10 years experience.

Technically competent but zero for client care or courtesy

Technically competent. That’s about all I can say. Transactional, cold in communication and unwilling to support their clients through tricky processes. They do what they need to be able to invoice and that’s it.

The culture of a lack of customer care seems to go all the way to the top. When I complained to their MD he shared a review from a happy client (anonymous of course) as if that invalidated my experience.

Avoid.

Would avoid. FJG Colchester

Overall. Very Poor - would recommend anyone to stay clear.

We are first time buyers; this process was made very long and stressful due to FJG for something that should be relatively simple.

We experienced many issues when working With Gayle Fordman, some are listed below:

- incorrect documentation/ files (wrong names and other information – was not checked)
- Incorrect email communication (resulted in us updating Gayle advising this isn’t applicable to us. This is surely the solicitor’s job and not ours?
- Slow progress. Over the 1st month, nothing was actioned on our case (we have time stamps of this) FJG had not contacted the Sellers Solicitors within this time frame. It took us to chase daily right to the very end for progress to be made. Constant pressure via emails was the only way to get this moving.
- Lack of care or attention, FJG did not want to chase. Was advised by Gayle that they are not a “Sale chaser” although it was just the case of following up with the sellers to see if they had made progress after several weeks. We were advised third parties had been trying to contact FJG but FJG advised they will wait to hear from them rather than following up despite us advising. We also received a few blunt and rude emails. This also included blunt emails to third parties.
- Lost documentation, our Mortgage Deed which was delivered to FJG Colchester was “lost” for over two days.
- Complaint email – with our complaint address to the COO, very little improvement was made (if any). With 9 separate concerns addressed in depth, we saw no improvement in our case.
- Something raised at the beginning of the process was only noticed by FJG near the end. This delayed us by a month.

Would not recommend. I could go in depth into the issues, but I would be here for days. Going with FJG resulted us moving out of London, us to incur additional costs due to them not assisting with us within a respectful time frame.

Would have just been easier them advising that they did not have the compacity. We were advised we were on the top of the pile for priority which we saw no improvement.

Would not recommend using them.

Excellent service…

Lorraine and Evie have been nothing short of amazing during our house buying process. Nothing has been easy from start to finish however they have gone absolutely above and beyond to ensure that I was kept updated and in the loop at all times. They’ve kept me reassured and kept me sane throughout what has been the most stressful experience of my life, they’ve responded promptly and professionally throughout and have given me as a clueless first time buyer the best advice and suggestions they possibly could have. If I ever decide to put myself through the trauma of moving again, I will ensure to use Fisher Jones Greenwood again without a doubt. I unfortunately have nothing to compare it to, as I’m new to this process. However from what I’ve seen my friends and colleagues experience with solicitors and the house moving process; this firm have been amazing and always as I say, gone above and beyond. Thanks guys!
