Taken our Money and Run

This company has taken our Money and run Ignoring the law and it’s own terms and conditions.
They emailed us cancelling our holiday to Crete costing 2k in April and stated we needed to claim via our insurance which is absolutely incorrect.
Calls to them are terminated and emails ignored.
Please be warned

unlawful Trading

This Company cancelled our holiday by email a month before we were due to travel (not till 25 April) due to Coronavirus. Fair enough. However, they referred us direct to our Travel Insurer. I believe this breaches the Law. Our money - paid to them only last month, will not yet have been paid on and should be held in trust. Our options - under their own Terms & Conditions (our contract), industry guidelines and legislation should include a full refund. Try to contact them - impossible. Emails also ignored, no paperwork (e.g. cancellation invoice) provided. I appreciate this is an unprecedented situation, but other Companies in the same situation are complying with their obligations and not exacerbating an already fraught situation for customers. They don’t deserve to survive this crisis - and I suspect bankruptcy will Ultimately be declared and all our money lost. Then they can open up under a new trading name. ABTA are a waste of time - see their website - they are also uncontactable. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.

Fleetway are lying to my face!!!!!

(Covid-19)
So Fleetway have been lying to me over the phone, they told me that ABTA had directed them to give no refunds, I have been to ABTA myself and ABTA have said 'LEGALLY' as it still stands they have to offer me a 'REFUND'. Jenny at fleetway went immediately quiet and placed me on hold twice. They told me I have to contact there customer services email but they are not responding to anything so that I dont get my money back. I am currently raising a complaint with ABTA to recieve a refund.

Absolutely disgusted

Absolutely disgusted with customer services. We phoned due to our holiday been cancelled because of COVID19. We asked if we could have a full refund back as they cancelled the holiday. The lady on the phoned laughed as us and told us no. She kept shouting at us down the phone and told us to be quite. I'm in absolute shock about her attitude and behaviour. I understand they are under a lot of pressure but there is no need to be so rude!
Im also very upset that they are refusing to give us our money back. The lady on the phone laughed and said it was in their bank account and we couldn't have it back. When it very clearly states on their policy if the holiday is cancelled due to a major incident we would receive a full refund.
I feel let down, upset and shocked by the whole situation.

Not really a holiday due to Coronavirus.

Unusual times which were hardly the fault of Fleetway due to the Coronavirus epidemic.
Our holiday, which was a present from our son, didnt really happen as we were told by locals almost on the first day that flights were being cancelled and the hotel was may be closing. Sadly our brief time was spent worrying and arranging a return to the UK.
Have to say though, the hotel and staff were magnificent and very supportive. They continued to create as normal an atmosphere as possible even though there were only 3 couples in the entire place so well done Donna Carmella.

ABTA/ATOL must act niw

How are ABTA/ATOL not jumping all over Fleetway Travel for denying refunds in accordance with Package Holiday requirements? Fleetway are immediately telling customers to claim on insurance when Fleetway will be receiving refunds from both airlines and hotels.
They are offering to confirm cancellation documents for insurers but these insurers will merely refer you back to the travel agents.
Are they bankrupt or merely corrupt?

Prague, Danube and Vienna

Prague, Danube and Vienna. Travelled 10-17 march, We arrived in Prague and stayed at the Red&Blue hotel. booked a walking tour of the city for the next day only to find all the palaces, museums and churches were closed, and it rained all day. We left Prague on Thursday just as the Czech border closed. The ARosa Donner boat was ok but very noisy going through the locks x8 and loos flushing all night. Vienna was stunningly but quiet and yes everything was closed. We missed Linz as this was now closed and we raced for Engelhartszell where we picked the boat up. Our holiday was cut short by one day and new flights organised via Munich. Again we raced over the border to Germany before the 0800am closure and sat at the airport for 8.5 hrs. Fleetway - I chased them several times for our paperwork which I was assured had been emailed. I had to make do with a booking reference to get flight boarding passes, it finally arrived day two of the holiday after more requests. We checked with the other people in our group and they experienced the same thing. Holiday amendments, new flights etc were organised and communicated by a very helpful lady Charlotte Jackson. Thank you. ARosa Donna - The crew were very supportive and we had several meetings about the daily changes. Thank you. So all in all I'm glad to be home. Would I do a river cruise again no it was too noisy, but I would definitely visit Prague and Vienna as a city trip.

Unfortunately yet another unsatisfied customer

Unfortunately yet another unsatisfied customer.
No customer service just an agent telling you that it's not their policy to refund of reschedule your holiday. You the customer must contact your insurance company and claim off of them!
When you explain that that is not in their T&C they simply talk over you, ignore you and continue with the narrative that "its not their policy"!

We were due to fly today and advised late yesterday that our holiday was cancelled. Totally understandable in the current climate and on FO advice. However Fleetway have determined that although you have a binding contract with them and that contact states that:

Cancellation: We will not cancel your travel arrangements less than 60 days before your departure date, except for reasons of force majeure or failure by you to pay the final balance. We may cancel your holiday before this date if, e.g., the minimum number of clients required for a particular travel arrangement is not reached.

If we have to make a major change or cancel, we will tell you as soon as possible and if there is time to do so before departure, we will offer you the choice of:
i. (for major changes) accepting the changed arrangements;
ii. having a refund of all monies paid; or
iii. accepting an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us, if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value).
where we make a minor change;

I've written a formal complaint to Fleetway and will take the matter to ABTA if this is not resolved with in 10 day.

IF you're unfortunate enough to be dealing with Fleetway "Caveat Emptor" applies.

Disappointed

Got caught up in Italy exodus. At no time did Fleetway contact me to let me know what was happening. Made our own way back, which meant we could claim a refund on our air fare. Have rung Fleetway regularly to ask if this has been done, they are unable to let me know if this has been done, or the the amount. Was promised an email to confirm payment but no email forthcoming

Booking 796829 NO REFUND?

Booking 796829 - MS E WEAVER and ANN PEQUIGNEY
Flights/Car and 7 nights in Gubbio Italy

We booked a 7 day package holiday to Italy on March 17 2020 with Fleetway Travel.
We finally received an email today that our booking was cancelled.
We are happy to rebook the same holiday later this year or next year.
We are being told to contact our travel insurance provider.
I have ALSO done my homework and know that there is a minimum protection law Under the Package Travel Regulations 2018 to state that even if there is a force majeure that a refund has to be an option. It is the customer’s decision which option they choose. Even in Fleetways small print it states “if we have to make changes we will offer you the choice of:
i. Accepting the changes arrangements
ii. Having a refund of all monies paid or
iii. Accepting an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us, if available (we will refund and price difference if the alternative is of a lower rate)”
In Fleetways terms it mentions a Force Majeure with regards to compensation NOT a refund. I sent them quotes from the Package Travel Regulations law from 2918 but they ignored it.

I will be taking this up with a solicitor.
Please advise.

River cruise and Prague stay

Fleetway were prompt and helpful when faced with potential cancelled flights as a result of the coronavirus.

Unfortunately the entire trip - Prague stay and river cruise - was disappointing. We arrived at the hotel at 9pm on the first day, were picked up at 7am the following morning, and then were told the journey from Prague to the river cruise was 5 hours! This information hadn’t been in any of our pre-holiday information. Once dropped off at the ship, we were then told we couldn’t go onboard for a further 3 hours, and were left cold and in a small town where everything was closed on the Sunday.
So the Sunday, technically the second day of our holiday was another wasted day. The river cruise was a good service, and the breakfast was enjoyable. Unfortunately there was a lot of wasted time on the trip, and it didn’t feel like a good use of time. Then on Thursday, when we were disembarking, we had to wait until 12 midday for the coach to arrive from Prague (set off at 7am with the next phase of guests), and then another 5 hours back - so another completely wasted day!

We then had two nights in Prague itself, which was lovely, but due to the coronavirus all tourist sites were closed, and restaurants were closed from 8pm on Friday night ongoing.

I’m aware how the coronavirus affected our holiday cannot be helped, however we were very disappointed with the actual holiday and why it was planned to have so much wasted time throughout the week - we effectively lost 3 days from our week break! I would not recommend this trip for that reason.

Greece trip suspended, but not refunded.

Our trip to Greece booked last December is scheduled to leave tomorrow. My prepaid tours go to the archeological ruins that are shut down. Greek restaurants are shut down and Greek people are in their homes. (Our flights to and from Athens are canceled by the airline). Still, Fleetway Travel has notified me at my request, after travel restrictions to Greece were known to them, telling me our trip safe to go on. There will be no refund!

I do not recommend booking with Fleetway. They do not answer the phone and have not communicated with me since. They do not seem care about their product or traveler safety. Traveler safety aside, they apparently do care about keeping the our $3,500 for a trip that I do not see how they are going to be able to provide.

Finally your on board with the seriousness of this pandemic. Ok so your going to cancel all bookings. I was due to go to southern Italy on March 22st. Does that mean we’ll get our money back???

"Magic of Spain"

We had great time during our "Magic of Spain" package in the last 12 days. Fleetway (Adele) was prompt acquiescing our demand for some hotels change so we can stay longer in beautiful Seville and Malaga. Also, Adele was able to find a minivan with automatic transmission accommodating our party of 4 with a supplement.
Most hotels are beyond expectations for the price we paid in this package. Good location, 4-5 stars during half the trip. We found that included breakfast is a good formula and they are very good in all the hotels with a variety of choices.
We found that the "Del Paso" car rental company that Fleetway booked is to be avoided. They charged us a 72 euro for "Gibraltar car tax" which we found out later was a SCAM. They also charged a 40 euro fee for returning the car too early (3am) not during business hours. Furthermore, they are not in the airport with long waiting time for their shuttle. Fleetway should not do business with this car rental company.
All in all, we had a great time.
Will post another review soon after talking to Fleetway about the rental car scam and a extra night charge.
