Foxtons were eager to get the property up for sale. After that communication and feedback were poor

Commendations to Charlie Weisfeld
We are very grateful for all the help , support and kindness shown to us by the team in purchasing our property. Charlie in particular (Camden office) was excellent and very good in answering all our questions however small it was. Even after the sale he was very helpful and checked on us. We are so thankful to Charlie and all the team at Foxtons.
Absolutely appalling service by all…
Absolutely appalling service by all staff. It’s been almost a month and we’re still waiting for our deposit back. I’m having to chase them several times a day. They’ll send emails confirming repairs/blinds fitting etc. and we wait all day but no one turns up! I’ve left voicemails, emails, sms but no one responds. They’re only interested in taking your rent and are clearly on the side of the landlord. I’d give them ZERO stars if I could.
Foxtons Peckham is all talk no action…
Foxtons Peckham is all talk no action in trying to arrange a viewing of any sort. I have walked in to the estate agent & rang them to arrange viewings & it is non existent. They will take your details, promise someone will ring you & never do or in the estate agent, *busy*. When you ring them to try check up on a viewing appointment .. Oh I was meant to ring you, but I got caught up. Excuses. Then when you actually do a viewing the estate agent spends all his time on his phone. Arranging another viewings & sorting out his work life. Foxtons Peckham are absolutely useless, waste of time, unprofessional, awful at communication yet forceful when you have seen one property of do you want to offer. If I could give 0 stars I would.
If you're a landlord needing an agency to manage a property, you can do better than Foxtons.
My Landlady manages the property, so Foxtons only has 2 jobs: Getting the money and dealing with the process of finding new tenants now that we are moving out. Remarkably, they don't do either well.
I had to set up my Standing order to the 10th because if, god forbid, the 15th fell on a Sunday or a Bank Holiday, they would immediately shoot out an email to the landlady saying we hadn't paid our rent. Not that setting it up to the 10th is a big issue for us- though it would be 5 extra days, the money could be gaining interest in the account- but the fact that the system can't account for bank holidays and give a 1-2 day window for the money to come through seems idiotic. Then, when we moved out, they started emailing us for visits. We told them our availability, and despite that, they kept on asking us to have viewings during hours we told them we couldn't. As if this wasn't bothersome enough, I'd say their ratio of booking-to-visit is 10 to 3, and that their ratio of cancellation-to-letting us know is roughly 2 to 1.
Having an agency handling the property has become more work than actually having to do it ourselves.
If you're a landlord needing an agency to manage a property, you can do better than Foxtons.
Useless.
Useless. I have viewed so many properties with them and they always try and force to make a video offer instead, and then they tell me my offer is declined only for them to reduce price even more
Disappointing experience
As recent newcomers to Sutton, we chose Foxtons to facilitate our relocation, and unfortunately, our experience has been far from satisfactory.
From the very first viewing, I made it clear to the agent, Armani, that I have a strong appreciation for cleanliness. She assured me that the property would undergo a deep cleaning and receive a fresh coat of paint before our move-in. We even signed the contract on this basis, with these requirements specifically noted. This makes it all the more concerning that Foxtons failed to ensure these contractual obligations were met.
Despite signing the contract over a month ago and remaining flexible with various requests, including adjustments to utilities, the apartment was not prepared as agreed. On moving in, we found the property in an unacceptable condition: the bathtub was clogged, dog hair from the previous tenants, and both the oven and fridge were extremely dirty. This forced us to move in under very unhygienic and stressful circumstances.
We still had our previous flat for another week, so we could have postponed the move had we been properly informed. Unfortunately, Foxtons did not communicate this, leaving us in a difficult position.
To add to our frustration, our primary contact, Suganth, has been unreachable for several days. When we finally managed to speak with the agency, we were told to raise the matter directly with the landlord. This is highly unprofessional and not something that should fall on new tenants. But because the flat was very dirty state, we ourselves suggested to the landlord that they either book a professional deep cleaner immediately or allow us to arrange one and invoice them afterwards.
After several unsuccessful attempts with many agents, one agent, Hidaya, was at least helpful enough to provide us with the landlord’s details and email them directly to raise the situation. While we appreciated that, it still reflects poorly that such basic accountability was not handled by Foxtons from the start.
We hope that Foxtons not only improves their service for future tenants but also takes immediate steps to enhance our experience, as we plan to live here for the next two years.
Even worse than expected given Foxtons’ bad reputation
Having now completed our purchase, we can honestly say this was the worst buying experience we’ve had in London. Foxtons Maida Vale were consistently unresponsive, obstructive, and left us doing almost all the work ourselves.
The seller’s solicitor, Fionan Foo at Burlingtons Law, ignored emails for weeks. Burlingtons was recommended by Foxtons, which makes it even more disappointing. It’s clear Foxtons do no real due diligence on their sellers or the firms they involve—they had no idea who they were dealing with or how difficult they would be.
Our agent, Ronald, was unhelpful throughout: unresponsive to calls and emails, going on holiday at a critical moment with no handover, and generally making an already stressful process harder at every turn. While one colleague did try to step in, the overall service was careless and dismissive.
In the end, our solicitor had to push the entire transaction forward almost single-handedly. For an agent that charges premium fees, Foxtons provided little more than delays, stress, and frustration. We would strongly advise buyers and sellers to think twice before trusting them with such an important process.
Unprofessional bighead people
I had a very poor experience at the Canary wharf branch of Foxtons. The staff I dealt with were unprofessional, rude, and dismissive of my concerns. When I asked to speak with a manager, my request was refused, which made the situation even worse.
It was clear that the staff lacked both knowledge and customer service skills, and their attitude came across as arrogant rather than helpful. This experience left me feeling disrespected and frustrated.
I hope Foxtons takes this feedback seriously and improves the training and professionalism of their staff, as this level of service is unacceptable
We are a construction company assisting…
We are a construction company assisting with lettings. Foxtons are ok, but when it comes to conflicts, they always seem to be OUT OF OFFICE...
Sad really, as tenants rely on Foxtons and all I hear is terrible stories about Foxtions, hence my review.
Pinner Office doesn't answer the phone…
Pinner Office doesn't answer the phone and doesn't call people back.
I am a landlord and they don’t transfer…
I am a landlord and they don’t transfer rent on time paid by the tenant. They are providing false information and keeping money on their accounts to collect additional interest from your money. I still haven’t got paid money for renewals, which claimed to be paid to Foxtons one month ago. Renewal manager telling different stories all the time and simply ignoring me. This is the most expensive agent in UK and worth i ever seen.
Unauthorized Entry
We leased a flat through Foxton's and they are also the Manager of the Flat. While we were on a holiday, a Foxton's photographer entered our flat, took pictures of all of our items in the flat and left the flat unlocked when they left. The next day while traveling we were made aware that the flat was for sale by an agent attempting to line up a viewing, The pictures the photographer took were all over the sales listing, including our family photos, our valuables and our private information. We do not know what other pictures were taken by their photographer nor were we ever informed that they were going to enter the property.
Absolutely hopeless - on every level
Immediately after a high pressure "selling job" to us, the person that valued our home, promising full after care and a "one stop shop", left Foxtons. Shocking care since then. Staff are chaotic at best. Very poor communications. They never replied to a call in less than a week, one time taking 4 weeks, and blaming holidays. Just wanted to keep lowering the price so they could say they sold it. They claim to sell approx 30% of properties before they hit the internet.. all nonsense.... They charge Rolls Royce prices for a Mini Metro service. Do not use.
Worst house hunting experience
I signed a tenancy agreement with this agency, paid what was required, and made arrangements to move in. At the last minute, they refused to let me move because they were “not satisfied with guarantors” — despite this not being stated clearly in the signed contract.
As a result, I was left without a place to live and had to pay for an Airbnb out of pocket. The whole experience has been stressful, unprofessional, and completely unfair. Communication was poor, and the landlord and Foxton showed no concern for the inconvenience or costs caused.
I do not recommend this agency
Shocking experience trying to see flats…
Shocking experience trying to see flats - turned up and sent away despite me chasing them for confirmation on the same day? Waste of time
Georgia was a breath of fresh air
Georgia was a breath of fresh air, an absolute pleasure to work with.
She listened to my needs, acted on them, did what she said she would do and was professional at all times.
Audacity and disregard
The worst letting agent from the lot. Please stay as far away from this company as possible. I've had a tenancy with them for the last four years, and I was amazed beyond words by their ignorance, audacity, and carelessness. The so-called landlord was supposed to manage the property, but the absolute lack of awareness from this person has been beyond shocking. Apart from not doing repairs and not answering my requests, they completely ignored the noise issues I was having with the upstairs neighbour, which, over the four years I lived there, almost ruined my physical and mental health and turned me into an insomniac. No one cared about my pleas for resolution and mediation, it all fell on deaf ears. At the end of the second year of the term, they also increased my rent by a brutal 27% and didn’t even bother checking affordability.
The common areas of the building were in disrepair, unhygienic, and dangerous to health, but again, no one could have cared less. When I finally had enough and they failed to negotiate renewal with me, they started harassing me with a multitude of viewing requests daily - on weekends and outside normal working hours. I was receiving emails, calls, and messages from pushy and audacious agents every day, with complete disrespect for my privacy and rights. They even wanted me to surrender the property three days before the official end date of the tenancy and were bothering me in the late evening with requests to release the apartment early.
Now, 12 days after the end of my tenancy, the deposit still hasn’t been released, and they are not answering my questions or providing updates. I am shocked beyond words by my experience. This agent should not be allowed to operate on the market, and in my opinion, their licence should be revoked. I’ve never seen anything like this in my entire life, so beware when dealing with them.
Foxtons Took Instructions from the wrong ‘Seller’. We lost thousands.
Our experience with Foxtons has been a nightmare. The Stratford branch listed and accepted our offer on a property without confirming that the person instructing them had the legal right to sell.
Months later, we discovered that the actual owner never authorised the sale, leaving us thousands of pounds out of pocket in legal and survey fees. This is a basic regulatory requirement they completely ignored. As a result, we’ve lost thousands and endured months of wasted time and stress. Foxtons’ actions show a disregard for regulation, transparency, and customer care.
If you are selling a property stay away from Foxtonserty to sell -We contacted…
We had a property to sell -We contacted Foxtons and went with the price exactly as they suggested. Few weeks later they asked to drop the price by 10% - We wanted to sell quickly so agreed a reduction of 15%.
Was told they would sell it in 2-days at that price.
3 Months later they came with offers 25% less than asking and advised us to accept.
They strategy on selling proprieties is to give you a high valuation so you go with them and follow that with constant price reductions.
After wasting over four months we withdrew.
They are not honest or reliable.
We moved out of the apartment over…
We moved out of the apartment over three months ago and left it in perfect condition. The rental agreement stated that our deposit should have been returned within 10 days, yet we are still waiting. Despite repeated follow-ups, nothing has been resolved.
This experience has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I strongly advise anyone considering working with Marina to be very cautious, as our deposit has not been returned even after months.
