Good company well worth it looks amazing
Ordered a 19x9cm oak floating shelf it arrived within 2 weeks and looks amazing. Any questions I had were answered by an AI against (standard now a days) but then replied by an actual human within the working day much better than I was expecting. The only things I’d say they could improve on is giving an idea of the weight, completely caught me off guard that the shelf would weigh over 30kg luckily I over engineered the supporting frame and it held fine. And the seconds the mounting holes for the shelf, the email you get prior to delivery and instructions to mount the shelf looks like they’re going to be central across the beam but they weren’t they were spread 2 top and 2 bottom which I needed to adjust the mounting framing for after construction. I get some items they sell maybe in a straight line and understand why it’s done it would have been nice to know ahead of time for our project.

I ordered a bed from Funky Chunky…
I ordered a bed from Funky Chunky Furniture in January 2026, which was delayed by three months. When it finally arrived, it was defective, and I had to hire a builder at my own cost to assemble it.
I requested two complimentary shelves as a goodwill gesture, considering the inconvenience, delay, and extra expense. The company refused, offering only a 5% refund. While they acknowledge my attempt to resolve the issue, the response feels inadequate for the disruption caused.
Additionally, Funky Chunky promotes sustainability, but in this instance, the defective product and delays led to unnecessary waste and effort, which does not align with their stated values.
I hope the company reviews its customer service and delivery processes to ensure future customers don’t face similar issues.

4x6 oak mantel beam
Ordered the 4x6 oak mantel beam, which looked great tbh, and colour was perfect. Onky criticism is the measurements are not exactly true to size, and the fixed tear drop brackets were not exactly in line and central. Only a few millimetres out but made the fitting a little awkward. It would have also helped if they included a template.

As we work with solid natural timber, we do manufacture to a tolerance, which can result in slight variations in both dimensions and fixing positions. We have ordered a mantle online.
We have ordered a mantle online.
The product took over two weeks to arrive and upon opening the package the mantle looked damaged which I have raised with customer service with photo evidence.
I have been told the crack is a rustic feature of the mantle - this has not been on the website and haven’t ordered the “rustic” mantle either.
After two days the mantle further dried and warped on the wall - it is now 2cm off the wall on the bottom part and there is a massive crack across the beam in the middle splitting the mantle.

All of our mantels are made from solid timber and are designed to retain a rustic character, which can include features such as cracks, splits and movement in the wood. These characteristics are outlined within our product descriptions.

Lost Order
My order was returned to factory due to insufficient paperwork - I had to chase and chase - they couldn’t find my original order so are remaking them - the order would of been forgotten if I hadn’t chased them terrible service will not be using them again very disappointing - very difficult to communicate also 😡

If I could leave zero stars...
If I could leave zero stars, I would. We ordered a bed, at which time the website said it would take 3 weeks to arrive and then the courier would be in touch to arrange a suitable date for delivery. After nearly 9 weeks, I finally received a message to say that the bed was being delivered. There was no opportunity to discuss suitable dates. The bed did not arrive that day (a Friday) and the tracking details were not updated. The bed was delivered the following Monday. It was stacked upright on a pallet, which had broken under the weight and the bed was damaged beyond repair. Nobody is replying to my emails and there is no phone number to call. The service is beyond awful.

Good quality furniture, no problems with the actual items, although the "oak" floating shelves are just stained soft wood.
The fittings that were meant to arrive with the items weren't. It's since taken 3 times to get the correct fittings and project has been delayed for a good few weeks as a result of this. Customer service (once you get past the bot) is good, just wish it hadn't taken 3 attempts to get it right.
Probably would use again though.

I'm impressed with the oak mantel we…
I'm impressed with the oak mantel we ordered, nice quality and good price, very pleased. However the order took a week longer than expected so I've had to cancel the building works and rearrange due to this, and whenever I contacted for an update I just got AI responses and no real indication on a timescale, that was a bit frustrating and disappointing. But of you're not in a massive rush then I would recommend.

Absolutely beautiful, solid, forever bed
Ordered the Coleridge tall bed in king size at the end of December. It arrived on Tuesday and what a beauty. Delivery was very smooth and once we unpacked and checked it we couldn’t wait to put it together. That was also very straightforward. Night one we noticed there was a wood on wood squeak when we moved in the bed, we worked out it was coming from where the slats sit in the notches of the frame so you need to make sure there is a small gap between the end of the slat and the side of the bed. We thought some cushioning would be a great back up so we wrapped the end of each slat in some old material temporarily which worked a treat. We’ve since sourced some self-adhesive felt tape as a permanent solution. This is the only reason we haven’t given it 5* and it’s no real issue but a definite potential improvement which we’ve fed back to the Funky Chunky team who were really responsive to the idea. We found a minor issue with a split in one of the slats which I’ve since reported and I’m confident will get sorted. Overall, we are really happy. They really are beautiful, sturdy, forever beds. ❤️

Shocking company to deal with
Shocking company to deal with - gave 1 star because I can’t give it 0 stars.
Ordered a mantel which arrived but it has 2 different colours, company states it is natural variation but it is HIDEOUS and unusable. Company point blank refuses to accept responsibility or send a replacement and insists I pay any return costs!

As previously explained, the variation you are referring to is a natural characteristic of solid oak. This is clearly outlined within our product description, particularly for our unfinished oak, where tonal contrast and grain variation are more prominent. Each beam is unique, and uniform colour cannot be guaranteed with natural timber.
We appreciate that personal taste plays a significant role in how these natural features are received. However, as the item is not defective and is representative of rustic oak, our returns position remains in line with our stated policy.

Dissappointing
After hearing about Funky Chunky Furnitures products I thought I would give them a go, but have been let down. Ordered a standard Floating shelf, no customisation, on the 7th, followed up after the 3-5days as suggested for my items lead, to still be ‘unfulfilled’. 11 Days later and still no progress on my order being processed or shipped for delivery…very disappointed.

I would NOT recommend…
I would NOT recommend Funky Chunky Furniture. Do not buy from them unless you want a massive hassle.
I ordered a mantle beam on 5th January. I did not receive the product until 21st January, I understand there was a 3-5 working day lead time with addition 3 working days for Christmas delays, however I received the product after 12 working days. I did query this with the team and at the time was told I was incorrect, and it fell within their lead time (which was not correct, as it was well after the lead time). When the mantle arrived, it was significantly damaged, as the packaging was not sufficient to protect the product. I then contacted the team again and was offered a wax care pack. I felt this was more of an insult, firstly I should not be expected to repair a brand-new product, but secondly the wax care pack would not repair the damage. A replacement was sent, again this arrived damaged due to the same issue. Finally, a third beam was sent (I requested them specifically to ensure the packaging was sufficient) which I received on 11th February (27 working days after my original order). This time the product was not damaged, however they did not include the fixings, so I had to request these to be sent separately.
Contacting customer service is awful and takes at least a day for them to reply to a single email, so when trying to resolve an issue, it can span over multiple days. I feel this company should have expressed sincere apologies for this, I have not received any form of gesture of goodwill offer or anything similar for this massive inconvenience. Do not buy from them unless you want a massive hassle.
