They did a bait and switch on a bed or the quality is so inconsistent that it is not the same as in the store.. They will tell you to wait since it won't feel the same as the one in the showroom. IT NEVER FELT THE SAME. I thought it was my mistake, I went back and felt the bed I thought I bought again and it is.not.the.same bed. I do sleep research. I know what I'm talking about. do not buy a bed from here.
Purchased 15,000 dollars on bed and furniture and was told they would haul old bed away for free. We purchased on the condition of the old bed being hauled away for free. When the guy got here he refused to take the bed because it had a tiny dead bug shell on the side of it. When I called G-W they refuse to do anything saying it was policy (One we were never told about). Then they blocked my text messages so I could no longer communicate with them. Beware. In the future we will purchase from a company that will honor their promises made.
We had bought a kitchen table from Gardner White in October 2019. We bought the warranty on the table. There were some scratches on the wood on top from some wearing and the nails fell out of one chair. Called for there company to come to the house and fix it. The man that came out said it could be repaired. Then about a week before they were supposed to come they called and sisd we cant repair it because its been more then 5 days. They font tell you they hire a different company to repair and it was the highest part of the pandemic. I don’t want people in our house during a pandemic! So we waited till it got better. So we went to the store and talked to the manager. Didn't get anywhere with her. I will never buy anything else from them. Art Van were are you when we need you??? They fixed everything!
Beware small print. If you return a mattress after one night and buy a different one that costs less ($1500 less), you have to pay for the more expensive one. No one mentions this when they tell you you can return it. Go to Macy's. Just as inexpensive.. Less sneaky.
Sent us damages couches, forced us to pay for them to pick them up, waited 5+ months for replacement. Offered us $80 to keep the broken couches.

Bought two couches from here. They were significantly damaged and obviously used (big of chips in wood, stains on seats, holes in couch, and back not attached to frame). We went back and ordered two new couches in April. They were to come in May. In May they said June, June they said July, July they said August, and in August they said they don't know when they'll be delivered.
I called to ask them what the heck was going on. They forwarded me to corporate, who said that, for the damaged couches we can refund you $80 (5% of one of the couches). We bought more than $5,000.00 in furniture, got two heavily damaged items that were clearly used, waited almost 6 months, and were offered $80.00 to be quiet.
They then wouldn't fully return our deposit. They needed to take out around $130.00 for "delivery fee." On broken couches, they wanted us to pay for them to take them back.
Would never do business with this company. Very bad, and dishonest. Would do anything for money.
Let’s begin with the fact that my order was charged twice. I called customer service to tell them I was double charged they said there was no record of it. My credit card bill said otherwise. My husband had to call a different agent and get reimbursed our money. Our order was also backordered so they told us we had to wait till the end of august to receive our sofa, we said that was ok. I got a call today (august 2nd) to set up my delivery and was told I had to pick between tomorrow or Friday, I asked if I could do the following they stated no it has to be within 7 days of this call. My only other choice was next Tuesday. It is bad customer service to make someone wait over a month for a sofa and not have the flexibility to go over your 7 day policy, I am not sure if your aware but most customers have other things going on then sitting around waiting for a sofa.
The first and last time I shop with this store Garner White, I ordered a marble dining table through epic pay at the end of February and its now July 22nd and I have not still received the table. The online and phone service is horrible.. JoVan Russell unhappy customer..
I went into the Gardner white furniture store in Auburn Hills Michigan on July 14,2021. I was there in the store for at least 50 minutes and yet not one sales person had approached me the whole time I was there because they was either sitting around on the floor furniture talking or on their cell phones to notice that I wanted to be serviced. The reason for this review is because the same thing happened to me last month in June and I thought well it was kind of busy that day plus they was having a meeting, but it was the same thing again. So I will never ever go there again.

A recent purchase of a dining room set at Gardner-White furniture in Taylor, MI resulted in delivery of a broken table top (delivery of this was refused), a damaged server, and five dining chairs now sitting in our family room. After contacting the store on 7/2/2021 (delivery day), the customer service representative informed me that they would set up service to fix the buffet and have someone call me back that day regarding the table. After receiving a call about service, we waited patiently for a call about the table top but nothing. I called the store again on 7/6/2021 and spoke with a sales person, she called me back later to let me know that there weren't any tables in stock and that they could fix the broken one and deliver it or I could wait for another shipment which may be the end of July or later. Since I have been waiting for a chair from Gardner-White since March, 2021, that has been on back-order per monthly email updates, I asked about returning the set as the pieces I had weren't going to be useful by themselves. I was told that a refund would be no problem, just come into customer service and request the return.
On 7/7/21 we went into the store and requested a return, we were informed that someone would call in 24-48 hours to schedule pickup. Again, we never heard from Gardner-White so I called and was told that a return was never put in and the service call wasn't canceled as requested. I was given corporate contact information to see what could be done.
I called corp. customer service & was informed that they could set up a pickup and that there would be a 25% "restocking fee" since I decided not to take the furniture. After explaining that I did not change my mind about the purchase but was left without the ordered and paid in full furniture due to a company/product problem, I was told that they would only charge restocking fees for the 5 chairs and damaged server which will be more than $500 and makes no sense to me. I've asked to speak to a supervisor and was told someone would call me, I'm still waiting for this to happen.
Terrible business practices, customer service and overall a slimy company!

Is the worst company I’ve ever worked with in my life. I ordered a bedroom set only part of that arrived. Three weeks later I have a mattress on the floor I’m 74 years old I can’t get up off of that mattress. I sleep in my car at night because I don’t have a bed to sleep on. I called the company they said that they would That they that I could pick another one I go to the store and they say oh no you didn’t buy the insurance you can’t but you’re stuck with it. Now I’d like to know where the bases to my bedroom sad so that I can put the mattress on the adjustable bottom they said that it will be delivered sometime this week I bet?? Very unsatisfied customer I did vies no one to shop in the store.
Customer service is non existent at the novi location. Still waiting for the manager to call me. Bob was my sales man. Besides taking my money he did absolutely nothing. Worst sales man. Bad products. Poor delivery. God I miss art van.
I attempted to buy a love seat and a sofa online, but for some reason they make you provide a picture of your ID and your credit card front and back, when I did in hopes to confirm my order. I got a terribly vague email denying me. When asked why I was declined I got zero help over the SMS service and when I called they put me on hold twice before they took my my number then hung up with no call back. Absolutely terrible service with little clarity and little assistance. Then they had the gull to ask me to come into the store to finish my online order? Then what is the point of having online ordering in the first place.

Received damaged furniture in April and still have not received replacement. No on at Gardner White is responding to our inquiries. All contact made has been by me to them. They keep saying they will inform us via email or phone but never do. Still NO idea when we will receive the replacement.
I'm posting this just to THANK all those who unfortunately purchased from Gardner-White & relayed their experiences. We definitely will NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM GARDNER-WHITE!!!!! I almost fell for their appealing advertising & went there. Thank you so much for saving us from a horrible experience!!!
Ordered a living room set - sectional, side chair and ottoman - in July, 2020 from the Macomb Twp. store. Picked the fabrics I wanted (special order). 4 months later it was delivered WITHOUT THE OTTOMAN. First Gardner White said there was no ottoman on my order so I showed them my receipt. OOPs - guess they didn't order it. Expecting another 4 month wait they said they'd handle it. Here it is, July 2021, and still no ottoman. They've pushed out the delivery date so many times I can't count. I left a message at the manufacturer (Bauhaus) to see if they even have an order for this piece. I should give GW my resume - they need a manager who knows what they are doing.
I have been waiting 4 months for the rest of my beach Croft patio set, was suppose to be here 5 different times, no call to tell you what’s going on, you have to call yourself. I’m not sure why they would promote a product that they don’t have…..No discount, no extending the warranty, I have to pay on it but yet they don’t have to keep they’re part of the bargain. They’ve already deleted my other review on their site because they don’t want their customers to read unpleasant experiences. I have been buying my furniture from there for almost a decade and they have never made me pay for my furniture until I’ve received all of it but now since they can’t keep up with demand different story. Bought dining set November 2020. They told us delivery by mid Jan. End of Dec they called and let us know that we should prep for delivery. We sold old table and waited. Never showed up.
We called back and were told that parts were on one truck and parts on another so it would be a few more weeks. Weeks turned into months.
Husband went into Brighton store and spoke to sales rep and was told April.
We started to wonder if they were in financial trouble like art van. So I went Into the store in Jan. and asked our SAME sales person about the table. He didnt remember me. (Masks and all). I told him I loved this table and asked how soon i could get it. He said March. I called him out for lying and cancelled our order right there.
By Feb or so we decided to try order again as husband went into the novi art van and they assured him it would come but he had to pay all the money upfront otherwise we would "lose place in line". Wait, what?
He did and they told us April, then May, then June. And now everytime I call back I get a two week update. The call center just gives you a two week update. So they transferred me to Novi where the average age is about 23, and I spoke with a guy and asked why I was given a new date in July. Another 2 week extension. I said, hey, if there is a hold up give me actual dates. He said August.
Also said he had "no idea who I was talking to who'd be giving me these dates." They are all deeply full of it. I think canceling may be the wisest at this point as they are behaving like a company that may be going belly up. Either that or they have a nice little ponzi scheme going.
Worse part? I google the table and they are hawking it on-sale. Redlined prices.

Worst experience I have ever had - nothing was on time, quality horrible, no accountability, no manager call backs - no call backs from anyone who promised one actually. Ordered living room 5+ weeks ago and every week, deliver was pushed a week. Still don't have it and now they say it will be another 4-6 weeks - MAYBE. Nightmare - I have probably made 40 calls and talked to 35 different people and not one of them fixed anything or followed up. They just keep quoting policy. Buyer Beware - estimation on their website ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE.
