Visited the George & Dragon recently and had a really enjoyable time. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. Everything was freshly prepared and arrived quickly despite the pub being fairly busy.

It's the kind of place that feels comfortable as soon as you walk in, whether you're stopping for a meal or just a drink. Great selection behind the bar as well, and the service throughout was spot on.

Will definitely be back and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a good local pub with great food and a friendly atmosphere.

The service was ok a little slow at the start but improved ,the food was very good and really nice choice. Our only negative was that it was freezing in there it was just getting warm as we left 4 hrs later.

My 84 year old Mum has lived locally for over 50 years. The George and Dragon is, or rather was, one of the favourite pubs her and her friends would meet at for lunch and dinner. However, the pub has now employed a car park management company, called "Smart Parking". After her recent visit for lunch, she has now received a demand for £100 for parking there, and the rhetoric in the letter is rather threatening about the consequences of non payment. On my visit today, i found this frail old lady is in tears, scared and confused about what she did wrong. "All I did was park and have lunch" she keeps saying. I had to ring the pub and they said they would talk to Smart Parking to try and get it cancelled. This is adding a little anxiety for Mum, as the parking notice threatens extra charges and baliff action etc if not paid within 28 days, so she wants to pay up, just in case. I have told her to wait and see, and I will update if this situation continues.
