Goodybags are fair value but it would…

Goodybags are fair value but it would help if they started at £5 not £10. The app can be a pain when you don't look at it for a while and have to put all your details in again. That period could be at least doubled. I also found that switching the SIM between phones can result in a text message charge even when no text was sent. Even though that might be only 10p, it means that if your credit is £20, you then can't buy a £20 goodybag when the credit drops to £19.90.

Staying with Giffgaff

Value for money and frequent upgrades / freebies are excellent.
Ease of contact with giffgaff if ever there is a need + their keeping you informed on all issues.
Network coverage works well for me and travelling overseas has presented no problems.
*I take a £10 monthly goody bag which covers more than I need.
I am frequently reminded by giffgaff that I could go lower on the amount I purchase but as it represents such good value and with the free extra allowance at £10 per month....I just let it run.
Been a customer for about 5 years + now
Never been any issues.....
£120 a year for almost limitless mobile? Perfect!

"Terrible Customer Support and Delayed Number Transfer - Panic and Risk of Losing Number!"

"I am extremely panicked, frustrated, and disappointed with giffgaff's pathetic customer service. I purchased an express number through the 'Create a Number' service, which provided me with a PAC code via O2's network service, and I paid good money for it. Giffgaff even sent me a confirmation email stating that yesterday was my number transfer day and that if it didn't complete, I should contact an agent.

However, your support system is completely broken and useless! The link provided to contact an agent doesn't work properly, your automated HelpBot just loops in circles, and there is no direct live chat or phone support to talk to a human. My old network SIM is showing as inactive, and my giffgaff SIM is still only showing a temporary number because the transfer is stuck. I am terrified that my personal phone number—which I paid for—is going to be permanently lost or wasted because of your system's failure.
I demand an immediate resolution from a live agent to secure my number and complete this transfer right now!"

Really bad at replying to emails

Really bad at replying to emails, they dont even bother to read what the customer is saying, all they do is just send you the same email template every time to fill in! Customer service is non-existance! Try to cancel my sim that I'd lost last year but they are still charging me!

2.5/5stars

2.5/5stars. Never had a problem making calls or hearing via them but the very rare times, I switch data on due to ni WiFi the Internet they offer is very poor or none existent. I had better phone Internet 2 decades ago. There Contracts are hit & miss and appear to change after sign up, there was no way to contact & leave message without selecting Bereavement on chat. Customer service is hit & miss with actions being taken at the wrong time causing further hiccups but , I acknowledge at least went to, then other times complaints responding 2weeks later to issues and marking complaint ticket closed 30 seconds later before a customer can even respond which is irrisponsible.
It's was fine when I had no contract but allowed a monthly roll on £6 debit as I only needed phone for calls. This worked well for years so maybe avoid their sketchy contract offers & poor Internet connection

£996 for Screen Repair - Under Warranty

I reported a fault for my 2025 Google Pixel which is under warranty. I sent it to Giffgaff for repair/ replacement.

Giffgaff refused the repair under warranty, citing the warranty was voided as the device was damaged (it wasn't). They also cited issues with the device that were non existent such as debris in the charging port (the device charged perfectly fine).

The issue I reported was a flickering screen, a known issue with these phones.

To repair this issue, and to clean the charging port, Giffgaff quoted me a fee of £996.34 !!!!!!!

The phone was purchased from Giffgaff last year, brand new, for £809 but to repair the screen of the year old, used device it is more expensive than the 2026 model BRAND NEW.

Charging a grand for a screen repair is laughable. I refused the repair. I'll be cancelling my contract and I'll not be using Giffgaff again
