Apparently it happens a lot, Came in for some socks and left with a £200 basket and still wanting more !
I was served by Felicity on the till and she was remarkable! Seriously, I’ve been working in retail management for years and she was exactly the example of a respectful, charming and funny customer service worker.
The range of clothes was exceptional, and I will be back for more

I visited the Barnstaple store last Sunday 15th March and was served by Kacey.
She was so professional, polite and helpful. I asked her for more than 6 or 7 size 5s in hiking shoes and she was polite all the time, helpful and knowledgeable.
She went over and above to help me. A delivery had just arrived at the store and she went through the delivery to find what I wanted. She was excellent.

Went to Go Outdoors looking for some trail running Shoes for an upcoming trip. Had a lad called Leo who was very helpful and had him fetching a few different pairs before settling on one that was right. No grumbles from him ( which I had in the Exeter store the the other day ).

Overall, good service and a good selection of shoes/boots. The ramp is particularly handy to test them on especially for feeling the bottom of the soles over rough terrain/rocks.

It's a good store generally and staff always seem happy to help.

Jeremy was very patient and helpful (as were other staff) with in store today.

I returned some newish pair of walking boots as they were leaking. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Friendly, polite and efficient.

I was greeted by a happy smiling Julie as I walked through the door.
When I asked about the details of a jacket Julie suggested we go over the the counter and scan the item.
Unfortunately the data was not there so Leo did another search to find the answer.
Following this I was happy to buy the jacket.

I went to Go Outdoors specifically because they are a Paramo stockist. The Paramo range is limited, but something is better than nothing. I also found a reduced pair of Innov8 trail shoes, another niche brand that I’ve had to get online in the past. Back to the Paramo. There is an opportunity to capitalise on being the only major North Devon stockist as, in my opinion, Paramo is unbeatable for our wet, mild, windy, changeable weather conditions. A lot of people are put off because it doesn’t feel right, but my experience and a whole host of YouTube videos attest to its superiority. Go Outdoors could set up a dedicated Paramo corner, train up their staff so they can talk about how they work and how to look after them. I watched one YouTube video where a retailer bought Paramo jackets for his staff. Sales subsequently went through the roof.

I went shopping to Go Outdoors today in Barnstaple. I was met by a really nice, friendly guy called Kevin who was extremely helpful, if only more people throughout the world was like Kevin, the world would be a wonderful place. Well done to Kevin, we will definitely shop again at Go Outdoors again, great kit, and very reasonably priced, friendly , helpful staff 👍😁.

Popped into Go Outdoors today and just wanted to shout out Ben.

He was genuinely lovely from the moment we walked in. Super friendly, easy to chat to, and clearly really knows his stuff. We went in for trail shoes, an Osprey backpack for our travels around South East Asia, and a bunch of camping bits for an upcoming trip, and he took the time to talk everything through properly without rushing us or pushing anything we didn’t need.

You can tell when someone actually enjoys helping people rather than just selling to them, and that was definitely the case here. We left feeling confident we’d bought the right gear and properly excited for the trips ahead.

Also, I really hope Ben ends up going on his dream trip to Australia one day and keeps enjoying the outdoors the way he clearly has done for years. Big thanks to him. A real credit to the store and hopefully this makes its way to his boss. He deserves it.
