Excellent service when I needed a bag quickly
I needed a new bag at short notice for a scramble on Tryfan. The shop assistants were polite, helpful, and knowledgeable, and gave me good advice on the different options available.
After considering all the choices, I bought a lightweight 22L Lowe Alpine backpack, which turned out to be perfect for the job.

A simple transaction
A simple transaction, one inexpensive walking stick, and a friendly respectful member of staff. Didn't patronise me (old lady) and we enjoyed a conversation yn y Gymraeg- me a learner. The little moments in life that can be much more than a commercial transaction! Diolch yn fawr iawn.

Excellent service
We have just been to your store as my wife needed a good raincoat, as she was reduced to using mine. We were greeted by a gentleman called Phil, who we believe was the manager. Phil gave some expert advice to my wife after she explained the issues she has with wearing heavier coats. He also took the time to assist me, in between other customers and a stock take, with how to ensure that got the right size footwear. Phil is truly an ambassador for your company, and I would have no hesitation in returning to any of your stores if all the other managers have the same professionalism. Thank you.

Walking pole advice
Just returned home after visiting the Porthmadog store. I went for some walking poles to help with rehab following a hip replacement. I was given excellent help and advice from someone may be the manager and a younger colleague. They could not have been more helpful. Thank you very much, Diolch

I bought more than expected as I…
I bought more than expected as I noticed you could use Klarna. When I got to the check out I asked the member of staff if I could pay with Klarna, she said yes but then put in the whole amount and wasn’t sure how to do it, she reluctantly called for a supervisor who claimed they had issues with getting internet in the store so better to go outside. Despite trying this, it wouldn’t download due to the lack of connection. The member of staff offered no further assistance so I just had to pay in full. I asked her to pass this issue up to management as if a service is offered and the internet signal in the area is not good enough to use the Klarna app then maybe the store should have Wifi. She just replied “it’s not our fault the internets not very good” Her attitude throughout reminded me of asking my teenagers to tidy their bedroom!! This was on the Saturday visit when I bought a tent and windbreak. I returned the next day to buy some maps and although no issues to solve at least this other member of staff was polite and happy!

Found what I needed. Was able to try on. Price good with card( which I didn't have) so joined. Man who signed me up could have been friendlier, hence only 4 stars.

Your staff are always friendly and helpful despite being busy every time I visit your Porthmadog store. I bought a "wash and reproof in one go" on their advice after using the two separate liquids for years. Have yet to try it.
