Be CAREFUL.

Be CAREFUL.. A week ago, I signed up for a free trial, then £10 a month, but they took a full-year subscription from my account. I could afford £10 a month but not £120 in one go. I am a pensioner, so I have to watch every single penny. I can not talk to any human, so they are misleading people.

Rubbish application.

Grammarly is among the worst tools available. The application prioritizes informal English and often makes grammatical mistakes it never used to make, especially concerning the overuse of commas. It flags perfectly fine sentences and suggests awkward rephrasings. The tool can diminish the quality of your writing if you accept all suggestions. It will sap the life out of your writing. The tool flags random words for “clarity” and replaces them with awkward suggestions or synonyms, making your writing artificial and robotic. It also has a personal vendetta against creative writing. The algorithm spams you with tone suggestions, regardless of the words you are using in your writing. It will omit random words and botch the sentence structure.

Beyond the listed issues, the product itself is deeply flawed. The AI grammar checker repeatedly misses obvious errors, causing students to submit substandard work and face serious academic consequences. The improved text is equally unreliable, often producing incomplete or nonsensical sentences.

The premium suggestions for enhancing clarity are godawful. Every suggestion is riddled with mistakes and poor structure. I’ve spent more time rejecting them than accepting them. The tool is more of a hindrance than an aid, as it’s only meant to disrupt your work and distract you. I cannot believe people are paying $144 for such a poor tool that ruins their writing. No matter what paraphrasing tool you are using, Grammarly will keep flagging those sentences for so-called “clarity” and suggest robotic and poorly structured rephrases. The tool doesn’t improve your writing but ruins it. There are far better, more advanced alternatives that do their job better than this junk. Save your time and money; don’t bother using it. Grammarly sucks!

Be Careful

Be Careful! Grammarly marketed to my daughter on her school computer and I got a bill for $500. The pricing is confusing and kids think they are getting free service or $12 after the trial. I was hit with $500 and have no idea what it is for.

⭐ 1 Star – If I Could Give Zero, I Would

Grammarly has just delivered one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever dealt with.

They charged me for a full 12-month subscription, even though I cancelled my membership a year ago. When I contacted support, they admitted the mistake, cancelled the subscription, and promised me a refund within 2–10 business days. I also asked for written confirmation — they told me I’d receive it.

Of course, nothing arrived.

And now? Their chat support is doing everything it can to pretend none of that ever happened. It keeps telling me I “don’t have a subscription” and trying to blame it on me forgetting my login.
What a joke.

So let’s get this straight:
You remember my payment details well enough to bill me without permission, but when it comes to actually fixing your error, suddenly the system “can’t find anything”? Convenient.

The customer service is absolutely pathetic — scripted replies, no record of prior conversations, no accountability, and complete refusal to address the actual issue. Instead of helping, they sent me a useless generic help link like I’m the one who messed up.

At this stage, the only part of this company that seems to run properly is the part that takes your money.

If you value your time, money, or sanity, avoid Grammarly. I’m now preparing to lodge a chargeback with my bank because it’s clearly the only way to get them to deal with their own screw-up.

Embarrassing company. Embarrassing service.

Grammarly is not recognising British UK…

Grammarly is not recognising British UK spellings, seems like this is not the first time. As I write in British English I will not be using Grammarly anymore. I test this out with simple words that American English use a Z and British English use a S. As I stated earlier this is not the first time this has happened.

This is the worst company ever

I used it only once. The program is useless and good for nothing. Then I had trouble cancelling it. In the meantime, they withdrew money from my account. When I finally managed to cancel it, instead of refunding the money, they informed me that I could still use it for another month, which is useless to me and I don’t want it. This is the worst company ever.

G. for Office was GREAT, but G. for Windows is HORRIBLE

Grammarly for Office Pro was GREAT! I used it extensively for several years and was very comfortable with the interface. Recently, I got a new computer and tried to install the same thing on it. Nope, can't do that anymore. Now I'm supposed to use Grammarly for Windows. OK, so I try it.
What a disaster!!!!! It is a TERRIBLE interface. Clunky and slow; I had to restart it several times (I don't know why).
The worst was the pagination. Any suggestion near the top of my page would get suggested next to the bottom of my previous page. I'd have to scroll ahead to find out what the suggestion was referring to.
It also significantly reduced the amount of text that it showed me at a suggestion. G for Office often showed all or most of a sentence with its suggested improvement. Now, it only shows a word or two. That makes it necessary to go into my original to see what it is even talking about. This takes substantially more time. One of the things I loved about G for Office was how much time it saved me. G for Windows slows me down SIGNIFICANTLY.
Basically, G for Windows is a complete piece of shit. Don't buy it. You are better off with nothing than this.

Very bad experience with the support…

Very bad experience with the support team. They told me that they will reply and address my query in 48 hours. I waited them for more than 48 hours, but instead of addressing my query they refunded my subscription plan. Such an improfessional support.

A very helping AI

It is very good. It helps me with my homework and lots of things like grammar, obviously, but sometimes the AI features do not work. In my opinion, I would recommend downloading Grammarly.

DON'T BUY! It’s a SCAM! WARNING!!!

DON'T BUY! It’s a SCAM! WARNING!!!
I am extremely disappointed with my experience using Grammarly. I signed up for what I believed was a trial subscription, but I was unexpectedly charged €144 for an annual plan that I never knowingly selected. This was a very frustrating situation and felt misleading.

To make matters worse, I received no response to my support tickets, which made resolving the issue even more difficult. Because of this lack of communication, I had to contact my bank directly to revoke the payment authorization.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service. I expect a full refund, and if this issue is not resolved, I will consider further action. Especially using social media plattform to WARN MORE PEOPLE since they have advertisement everywhere!

When I'm juggling multiple projects

When I'm juggling multiple projects, I rush emails and pitch decks. that's when mistakes happen. I paste everyything in. skim through the suggestions, and suddenly the document sounds like i took an hour polishing it. stakeholders this im meticulous, but really it's grammarly doing the heavy lifting.

Best Grammar Checker

I've been using Grammarly since February 2025, and it has really helped me in creating my papers correctly, as well as when I need to message someone and need to check my grammar.

Finally switched from ProWritingAid to Grammarly - huge difference! Rating: 5/5

I spent a year trying to make ProWritingAid work because of the price, but I finally switched to Grammarly Premium and the difference is night and day. ProWritingAid gave me way too much data and cluttered reports that actually slowed down my writing process. Grammarly just works. It integrates perfectly into Chrome and Slack without being buggy, and the suggestions feel much more natural and human. PWA is okay if you want to analyze sentence lengths for hours, but if you actually want to get work done and sound professional, Grammarly is the superior tool. Worth every penny for the time saved.

from the ONE himself

My experience, it keeps billing my credit and overcharged my card with overdraft fee.

Also as i tried to use it, it just add itself to my extension and also automitcally made itself able to rewrite all my data and files without my fulll approval.

so my review....
very untrust worthy.

way too many commas

doesnt seem to understand scientific writing, suggests bad sentence structures with excessive commas. Impossible to simply delete, impossible to not have pop ups on emails. Pop ups on emails will highlight entire sentences and make you click out of a subscription option every time you hover over the sentence. Also gives false suggestions on plagarism to encourage people to pay for the service. Predatory, unhelpful and will never download again.
