BEWARE !!!!FRUAD
BEWARE !!!!FRUAD, FRAUD, FRUAD, I rate this bank 1 star only because there is no zero stars. They closed my checking account without any notice and block any access to my cash, They say that it will take 30-60 business days for them to send me my money back. This is not a reasonable amount of time.
Restricted my Apple Cash account
Unable to provide me with any information as to why my Apple Cash account is restricted. They have the worst customer service agents who only read you the same script off of a computer screen when you call. They are unable to give me any estimate when my account’s restriction will be lifted. I only use my Apple Cash account to send my kids money and to collect money for lottery tickets from my coworkers and family. I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and they forwarded my complaint to the Federal Reserve. I would steer clear of this bank and advise Apple to rethink their relationship with Green Dot.
This bank is a total rip-off
This bank is a total rip-off. I can’t believe that Apple would be related to such a low-rated, complete company. I’d given them all the proof/documents from the merchant stating that I do not have an account with them and Greendot still denying giving me my money back. Their go-to is to mail you out the same correspondence letter they mail out to customers for denying their refunds. Instead of allowing customers to speak with the Dispute dept or the agent speaking with their dispute dept on the customer behalf. This way the customer will have a legitimate reason why their claim was denied. I’m going to Android. Apple should’ve known better. This shows a lot about companies. And the sad thing, it wasn’t a huge charge but it still was my money. Greendot are thieves. Shame, shame, shame on this company
Green Dot Doesn't have a Fraud Dept.
September 2 Someone Cash App the remainder of the money in my Quickbooks online payments through Green Dot. I filled out their complaint form only to have them tell me that I did the cash apps. I do not know who this person is. Also at the same time that this happened I tried to instantly transfer funds to my bank account only to find it never made it to my bank. The cash app made 8 transactions in different denominations to the same person on the same day. I have spent several days trying to get my money back with no avail just being bounced around by Quickbooks, then Green Dot. I asked Green Dot for their fraud department and they said we do not have one. What legitimate bank doesn't have a fraud department? This is thousands of dollars just missing! I also tried to fill out a police report and they said they do not handle this. It is now a Federal Trade Commission Issue. Maybe we should file a class action lawsuit.
ZERO STARS
ZERO STARS: I noticed multiple unauthorized charges on my Green Dot Visa card for over $9,965 over the span of a year! I promptly reported these transactions according to Regulation E and submitted formal disputes and the bank’s response was slow and did not resolve my issue. I hope Green Dot improves its fraud investigation and customer service processes. This is ridiculous. Arbitration.
Predatory scam company
Predatory scam company! $50 disappeared into the stratosphere. Now that corporate dishonesty is encouraged and rewarded, and consumer protection has been eliminated, there will be no resolution. Welcome to the new normal.
…Don't do it
I dont know how they did it and I dont understand why Walmart is a partner. I live in Maryland someone in New Jersey was able to make 2 ATM withdrawals without the card and some how knew the pin to my card. Im here in Maryland at work the customer service is terrible you cant understand them they are in another country and cant speak English. You how to print out a dispute form then mail it to Ohio. Best advice dont do business with Green Dot or Walmart when it comes to a bank account and debit card. And they had the nerves to ask me if I wanted a new card. 🫣
customer service
Useless people for customer service, both the representative and even the manager. I had to be transferred to Apple Support to get an actual person with ethics to listen to my concern.

Scam and Fraudster Central
Scam and Fraudster Central. I do not use this bank, yet they continue to allow people to register cards with my email address under fraudulent identities. I have previously called them about this issue, warned them, unsubscribed multiple times, and have just about had enough. Since I'm not a customer, they refuse to take my calls or allow me to file support requests anymore. As a result, they now get my voice publicly. Stop using my email for fraud. Otherwise, you are a willing participant.
Wish I could give them a negative 5…
Wish I could give them a negative 5 this place is a joke someone stole 100 off my card used it in Florida I was in Maryland said they found no fraud so I showed them I purchased another one because I needed the card with the money on it still denied the claim even though I showed proof they never planned on giving me anything back
They are crooks
Rip offs
I wish I could give this place zero stars because one star is too much… transferred money from Apple Pay and never received it, after a week I contacted them to find out where my money went and they say don’t know they have to investigate and it could take 10-45 days. NEVER use Apple Pay or green dot bank. This is my first time using it, I wish I would have read reviews first because apparently this happens a lot.
They stole my money
They added monthly fees 3 years after I bought the card without telling me and drained all the money from the card. I checked the original documentation that came with the card and this was in no way allowed by the agreement and was illegal.
It will also no longer allow me to make an account with the card because it is "too old" and when I try tried to extract the funds from it since it was expired, the page does nothing when i hit submit.
This company is a scam.
I have a green dot for 3 years but when…
I have a green dot for 3 years but when you really need it,this bank is horrible system and worse customer services, first send me mynew card to the old address second the new one is 10 days business day and when I tried to get my money using there barcode are useless,When I get my money I going to close the account.
Avoid Green Dot
As a business owner, I trusted Green Dot in conjunction with QuickBooks with my company’s finances. That trust was catastrophically misplaced. When I became the victim of over $20,000 in criminal fraud, Green Dot not only failed to protect my account but actively worked against me during the worst financial crisis of my business.
Despite months of obvious fraudulent activity - dozens of unauthorized transactions ranging from $129 to $529 to the same unknown merchant - Green Dot’s fraud detection was completely silent. No alerts. No phone calls. No emails. No account protections. Nothing. While criminals drained my business account, Green Dot’s “advanced security” was apparently taking a vacation.
After I reported the fraud and filed a police report for criminal activity, Green Dot’s response was appalling. Rather than investigate properly, they sent form letter denials claiming I “authorized” transactions to merchants I’d never heard of. When I provided police reports, sworn fraud statements, and detailed evidence, they doubled down on blaming the victim.
When I tried to discuss my federal rights under Regulation E, their representative literally hung up on me mid-conversation. Apparently discussing consumer protection laws is too much for their “customer service” team to handle. Professional? Hardly.
The most shocking failure: while my fraud dispute was supposedly being “investigated,” criminals called pretending to be Green Dot dispute team members. During this call, they executed an additional $5,000 theft from my account. Green Dot’s response? They denied that fraud too, claiming I authorized it. Unbelievable.
Even when presented with police reports for criminal fraud, sworn fraud statements under penalty of perjury, federal regulatory complaint documentation, and clear patterns of unauthorized activity, Green Dot’s solution is always the same: deny everything and blame the victim. They seem to operate under the theory that if they deny fraud claims long enough, victims will just give up.
I’ve had to file complaints with federal regulators because Green Dot refuses to follow basic consumer protection laws. No customer should have to involve federal agencies to get a bank to reverse documented criminal fraud, but here we are.
As a small business owner, this experience has been devastating. Green Dot’s failures didn’t just cost me money - they damaged my business operations, consumed countless hours of time, and created massive stress during an already difficult situation. When your business banking partner abandons you during a crisis, it affects every aspect of your operations.
Green Dot talks a big game about security and customer protection, but when criminals actually target your account, you’re on your own. Their fraud detection doesn’t work, their investigations are inadequate, their customer service is unprofessional, and their response to documented criminal activity is victim blaming.
If you’re considering Green Dot for business banking, ask yourself: when criminals inevitably target your account, do you want a bank that will fight for you or against you? Based on my experience, Green Dot will fight against you every step of the way.
There are many banks that actually protect their customers and handle fraud professionally. Green Dot is not one of them. Save yourself the heartache and find a financial institution that treats fraud victims like customers deserving help, not obstacles to be dismissed.
The bank perpetuates fraud online
The bank perpetuates fraud online. There is no fraud department. Fraudulent tranactions with the names 000000000000000000 0000 are completed including foreign tranaction fees, no reply to reports of the fraudulent transactions, the account remains open despite closure online and charges on the closed cards
