Green Retreats have been absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The customer service, the building teams, the electrics and blinds teams all amazing. We couldn't be happier with our garden office and choosing to go with them.

We visited Green Retreats last week at their main showroom and had a superb experience. From very warm welcome through to coffee and through to being shown around the Garden Room displays, the entire experience was insightful, inspiring and exciting. Harrison whom we met last year was as always very knowledgeable, patient and ensuring around the various options that we are considering. All in all a wonderful experience and very excited to purchase our new Green Retreats Garden Room. Highly recommended to make a visit on site. Every size, type and layout of Garden Room and design is available. The quality is also exceptional.

Sam was excellent in working with us on the design. The showroom was large and open. It was really good to see the buildings.

From the start to the end of the project for our new office, we have been extremely impressed with the efficiency of the team involved, especially Louisa and Nicole on the sales side. The build was absolutely pain free, all teams involved in the base lay, build and electrics were superb - knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, and respectful ensuring that disruption was minimal.
We will definitely recommend Green Retreats.

Great company, office installed professionally and all according to agreement. The only thing that would make it a bit easier for us is if the company had gardeners who prepare the surface. But we managed to find someone so all ok.

Can't fault the base installation or the exterior of building itself, and both teams of workers for those were lovely, but it is utterly useless to us because Green Retreats did not connect the power as agreed, so there is no electricity or heat in it. It is essentially a super expensive shed right now. Looks nice, but cannot be used as the office and gym space we had intended to use it for when it is without electricity.

The customer service was interestingly bad, but I'm still waiting for someone willing to chat with me and my husband over the phone. They seem afraid to speak and only want to liaise via email which is another red flag. Surely conversations can be followed up with "as discussed" email if that was their concern? Or even recorded, I wouldn't have minded the conversation being recorded actually because I have nothing to hide!
Presumably they are unable to respond on the spot verbally to concerns so prefer to hide behind an email to try twist words in their favour in an attempt to discredit the customer.

Beware and Be Prepared is my advice.
Our experience summarised below:

Ordered a G3 build which totaled over £37K once our spec was finalised. At its most basic, this was to include the base, the build itself, and the electricial connection. Fine, big investment, but something we are hoping will last a very long time.

The team conducted multiple site visits to advise on suitable groundwork but also to gauge the length of cable required for electricity. They advised a 15m cable.

Base + Build eventually goes as planned. However they do not send out the electricians on the date agreed. Luckily I was home anyway but it wasn't ideal as my husband had already arranged to work from home or partially book that day off so he could be around,and I focus on our 6 month old baby and 2 dogs. They make a big deal of agreeing to the scheduled dates but then don't follow it and deliver to it themselves.

Turns out that the electrician they sent on the wrong date advises a much longer cable, 50m - not 15! Lo and behold, he came equipped with 15m as recommended by the Green Retreats team. Mistakes happen, annoying but whatever - everyone is human. It's GR's response to this that is infuriating though.

Reader; there is a Screwfix a 10 min drive from our home. The cable at the required length was available at this store. The electrician on site was willing and had enough time to complete the job the same day or come back the next day instead (the date we actually agreed to), once he had this cable. He has to notify the GR team. You would like to think that this isn't overly complicated but alas, GR take this opportunity to avoid the common sense route of authorising the purchase of the correct length cable and carrying on with the work to completion. We were even happy to cover the cost of the longer cable ourselves. But oh no, this was too much of an opportunity for GR to sit on their decision on what they could do in this conundrum, (it wasn't a conundrum at all), and spin a way to charge us far more than the cost of the cable and while doing this, announce delayed completion of the project for another 8 days.

We needed a 3-Core 6mm Armoured Cable (SWA) in a 50m length. This is currently £175.99 on Screwfix, of which there is one not far from our house. I'm assuming it can also be purchased for cheaper than this as a tradesperson wholesale.

Now, I understand that companies need to make a profit but we had already paid for the build to include labour and materials and were willing to cover the cost of the extra cable at cost. Even though that wasn't our mistake.

Green Retreats believed it was reasonable to try and charge £1,225 to provide this cable and install it! While also claiming that they're not charging for a return visit, lucky us! Please make this make sense.

They claim this is reasonable because they offer a 'Managed Service'. The same service that was unable to send out the electrician on the date agreed and the same premium managed service that was unwilling to have the project completed with a simple purchase of an additional cable on the day the workers were onsite.

Apparently they're worth it, because they would have had to arrange the purchase of the cable? and also schedule the return visit? so that's extra skill we must pay for. They will also make sure their electricians are fully compliant, I kid you not! We should pay extra for them to choose someone qualified in the trade. Please note, we could have purchased the cable quickly and the electrician was onsite with time on his hands. Please also note, we are now getting our own electrician to finish the job!

Be wary of anyone trying to take advantage like this and particularly watch out for vulnerable relatives who may not know any better or have the confidence to push back. They offered us a measly £100 John Lewis voucher. Avoid.

Having made the Aftercare Team aware of an issue with the paint finish on the roof of our building last August, it was immediately identified as a warranty case. Understandably, it therefore took a few months to be resolved and yesterday, the rectification technicians James and Aaron battled howling winds and driving rain to install new roofing sheets over the existing roof panels. As a result, the roof looks as good as the day it was installed in 2018. I also took the opportunity to pay to upgrade the external lights and the front roof fascia. There was a slight mix up with the lights but it was immediately resolved whilst the team were on site and with no inconvenience to me. Throughout the process, the communication was exceptional with James and Tracey delivering a level of customer service that is rarely seen elsewhere. I would not hesitate to recommend Green Retreats to anyone considering purchasing a garden building.

We had our Green Retreats garden room installed in 2017, it has been a real asset and provided additional space to work and study. We had some minor cosmetic issues with the roof, and the Green Retreats office engaged with us quickly and positively to find a solution. The work was carried out courteously and professionally by the onsite team, and the garden room looks like new. Thank you Green Retreats we are delighted.

The Green Retreats team were helpful from start to finish; every tradesperson polite, friendly, very hardworking in some awful weathers, and forgiving of us forgetting to bring enough mince pies out!
My office is lovely, I’m delighted to be working in it and can attest that in the very recent cold weather it is very toasty! My WIFI is excellent, and the garden room has changed my working practices for the better exactly as I dreamed it would. Thank you to the whole team, they were great

We were recommended Garden Retreats by Golf Swing Systems - to provide a building for a golf simulator. We happened to be passing and called into the Aylesbury showroom at Westcott. Excellent staff and impressively high quality buildings. Highly recommended to visit .

Premium products! They have done all the thinking so you don't have to.

We had an ongoing issue with one of the doors not locking properly, which understandably caused some concern from a security point of view. I want to give genuine credit to the Green Retreats aftercare team for how they handled things overall.

Communication was consistent and professional throughout, with the team taking the time to review videos, explain the root cause, and coordinate both temporary and permanent fixes. In particular, James and the aftercare team were responsive, calm, and solution-oriented, even when the issue resurfaced and required further visits.

What stood out was their willingness to engage, keep me updated, and ultimately see the issue through to resolution rather than deflecting responsibility. These things matter, especially post-installation.

No process is ever perfect, but good aftercare is about how issues are handled, and on that front Green Retreats delivered. I appreciate the support and would be happy to recommend them based on the overall experience.

We have had the basebox+ installed. The quality is exceptional and took less than 2 days.

With projects such as this things can go wrong. What is most impressive is the reaction to any issues; Green Retreats listened to our concerns and provided an acceptable solution.

Fantastic customer service from start to finish. Green Retreats designed a beautiful outdoor space and were very responsive to all of our queries from the start. The installation team were professional and super efficient. Thank you Green Retreats - we love our outside garden gym.

Visiting show ground is well worth a visit as staff, coffee and free ice cream are on offer. Young informed staff can show you around and tempt you to spend but not pushy. It is important to visualize the space and adjust your needs.
Your allotted coordinator is constantly reminding you about dates for payment stages and delivery.
The builders are excellent and obviously know the team and what is expected. Fast ,neat and tidy. Overall a positive experience and just shows you what a well managed company can achieve.Why we put up with less in this country is a mystery.
