What has happened to this company. I spoke to an obnoxious young lady on their customer service line. I bet she loses them more customers than anything else. I’ve waited six weeks for two pairs of tights . No update email nothing . So when I phone the customer service line I’m told by this person that my payment has expired ??? and she couldn’t deal with that anyway I was told I should go onto the website and acquire the articles that way. I told her just cancel the whole thing. I now don’t trust Gudren Sjödén so I have to check my bank because for all I know they have deducted the payment. It’s really appalling customer service and looking on Trustpilot I am not the only person who is unhappy with them. Buyer beware.

Really bad customer service that ignore customer's emails. I ordered an item and money was taken, I never heard anything from them despite my emails, over a week later the money appeared back in my bank, no explanation, nothing.

Gudrun Sjödén have the most complicated returns service. One return was never acknowledged months ago- I've lost my opportunity to sort that out- and my latest seems to have gone missing! I sent it via UPS and it came back to my house, about 12 days later. Where had it been for 12 days? After emailing, customer services and being told I had placed the correct forms on the front of the packet, I was told to take it to the post office, and Gudrun, wouldn't charge me the postage when making the refund. Victoria in the customer care team replied to my email, in October. I had to email her again, earlier this week, to find out where my refund was. She asked if I had sent the packet to the London shop. I have, and sent a photo of the packet. So far it's taken her 4 days to locate the packet- I will be emailing again after the weekend to see if it's been located- I don't think it can be that hard to search a shop for a packet, with my invoices attached. They are great designers, but terrible when it comes to returns and running an office. They should have a better returns system. I've got an outstanding voucher to spend with them, but after that, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle- I may have to find another company to deal with. I do like Celtic and Co- but they only have a limited variety of clothing- any ideas readers. Also while on the subject, I bought 4 pairs of striped tights, and this year two of the pairs don't stay up the elasticity has 'gone'- two pairs are fine- I've got other company winter tights, that I've had a lot longer and they are still fit for purpose.

Very disappointed with the quality of the jumpers I ordered. I decided to return them and did so, dropping them off at the returns locker on the 18th of October 2025. I packed the parcel as per the instructions but apparently something went wrong in transit. It is now the 14th of November 2025 and still no sign of my refund! I have exchanged emails with customer services and had an apology for the delay but I think waiting this long is unacceptable. I don't trust their returns process at all and will no longer shop with them.
Well, it's now the 25th of November and still no refund despite tracking confirmation that they received my return (poor quality, scratchy jumpers) on the 31st of October. Customer services have responded to my emails with nothing other than pathetic requests for me to be patient. I wonder if there is more they might like to share on the financial status of the company? Don't trust them, do not buy from them!!

The woman on the phone at customer service was appalling: she was rude, unhelpful, sarcastic and waffled all of her answers on purpose. It was a byzantine experience. The clothes needed to be returned cos they were bad too.
It has cost me over £20 to return the items after two failed sendings… i think they refused the return twice.

Updated 7/01/2026: I have still not recieved a full refund .
Updated:
It is now 2/12/25 and I have still not recieved the full refund . £92.20 has been paid back to me, however I am still owed £90.20 plus £5.09 for the postage I paid for returning it to the London store . Customer Service told me to send the parcel there and to send a picture of my receipt which I did on 4/11/25 , that I would be reimbursed for postage paid
I have again rang the London store regarding this. I understand that the London store is being overwhelmed by the reversal of the returns system and do sympathise, however both coatigan and dress were returned together in the same packaging thst I recieved them in, so why refund only part of the original order. I have been told by the London store that refunds are made from Sweden. GS is making money from holding on to our money and GS needs to get herself working harder to refund what is owed to the loyal customers who have supported her business over the years .
I really feel that a review is justified. Having ordered 2 items early September 2025. The delivery started the 1st of so many problems for me. The order was delivered by UPS to a local locker system. I recieved an email saying the order was ready to collect from the Locker. After entering the tracking numbers and other details that were requested., none of these were recognised by the machine. 2 Passersby tried to help me also without success.
Back at home I telephoned UPS and I was given a code to use back at the lockers . This finally released the order.
One item, a coatigan which on line shows an attractive floral leaf pattern appeared to be a faint print on the garment . The other item a dress didn't suit, so I decided to return them both. G S policy is to accept returns. However if a refund is required a % is retained for the initial p & p . So I decided to order other items in place of the ones being returned to the same value . Returning is not easy either as they have to be returned to GS in Sweden. I filled in the 3 lots of paperwork , applied 2 lots to the outer packaging as instructed and went to the original set of lockers to post it. I entered all that was required and a locker opened for me to place the return parcel. Once I closed the locker the display told me the parcel had been received and that I would recieve an email and sms messages confirming this. I didn't recieve either . So with no proof of leaving it in the locker. The following day I contacted UPS and was told without proof of posting nothing could be done . I telephoned GS and was given the original tracking details of the package and the tracking details for Returning it to GS.
I contacted UPS again giving them the details and was told there was no parcel with these details on their system.
Later that night a lady from UPS rang me to say that she was going to ask the courier to check the lockers for a parcel that wasn't showing on the system. I was so grateful to her. 3 weeks later the parcel was re delivered to me and it was in a right state of rips and tears which had been secured with sellotape. Also UPS had placed a huge lable on the front of the parcel with RETURN TO GUDRUN SJODEN and the Swedish address... So why return it to me ????
I contacted GS customer service and was told that a new lable would be sent via email to me as to post one out to me would take too long. I was to copy the lable , I do not have a photo copier...
Today 3/11/25 i spent 4 hours trying to find somewhere get a lable printed. Eventually I did at a cost of of £1.20 . I then took the parcel to the post office, there i was told I couldn't leave it as it was a UPS lable ' scream' I was directed to a shop the other side of town who take UPS parcels. Arrived at the shop to be told they no longer deal with UPS . From my car i again rang GS customer service and was told that i could telephone UPS and ask if they would collect the parcel from my home, which means i will have to wait all day at an address for them to collect or , GS could send me yet another email with an address to copy & place on the parcel covering all the other lables including the one ive just paid £1.20 for ( the lady at customer services told me that i shouldnt have paid anything for the lable !!!!!) then take it to the post office where i will pay up to £7. 90 to post it to G S London. However I can claim this back if I email a photo of the proof of postage.. The parcel is Still with me in my home almost 2 months later. I have gone into such detail over these ridiculous events as a warning of what could happen if you too place an order with GS and decide to return the items. Customer service now tell me that returns must be sent to their London store. Hurrah . I posted it to the London store but refunds come via Sweden . Eventually I am refunded for I item not 2 and GS will not refund the cost of postage which is contrary to what customer service told me.

The clothes are really expensive so I thought they would be great quality and also great length. When they finally arrived..it took quite a while I found the quality quite poor and the lenghth really small. I won't be buying from this company again.

Reply from Gudrun Sjödén
Like so many women I relied on this company for good quality imaginative clothes. OK, sometimes items were expensive but they were worth it for their originality and reliable good quality. Visited the shop today and, frankly, it is a parody of it’s former incarnation. Fabrics feel cheap, designs are boring and unimaginative and the staff, who used to be so cool and friendly, I found irritable and, frankly, not an attractive model for the merchandise. The beautiful woman with the amazing dreads who used to work there modelled the clothes to perfection. I did buy something today but, when I was charged £1.50 for a bag which used to be given for free I knew that was the end for me. Greed - the disease that is destroying anything good, has taken hold of this company which has now lost whatever soul it possessed. Do not be taken in by all the claims and promises.

I love my navy blue boots! Very high quality, thick, soft leather! The customer service was very helpful when I was trying to purchase this item using my discount, and the website didn't recognize it, I called customer service and they were so helpful, and handled it there on the phone. Thanks!

I love the designs and I always buy cotton or linen clothes so I have not had the experience of other customers. Occasionally the sizing is a bit imaginative but I have only had to return one item.

I have been a customer for more than 20 years, and whenever I wear Gudrun's clothes,I always get compliments.I am asked, where did you get this? And I happily tell them

Update: Despite Gudrun's publicity team below leaving an apologetic message saying they would take action, no refund materialised and I've had to go via my bank. The bank have refunded me, not Gudrun. The customer run Facebook group is full of long time customers having exactly the same issues as I did. Although some of those customers were offered discounts or gift cards, I have not been offered anything to recover the losses I got on my credit card waiting 3 months for the return or as a sorry for their mistakes. I repeat, do not buy from this company.
My daughter spends a lot of money every year with Gudrun and I've always wanted to own my own Gudrun wardrobe. With a big birthday and event to celebrate it coming up my daughter kindly gifted me a large voucher amount and helped me order over the website.
From the moment we tried to open an account we had problems. I had to use two emails as there was a discount and didn't want to miss out but although I received emails the account when logging in had no account number assigned.
We had to call customer services in the end and I was made to feel stupid by the person on the phone saying no account had been made and it was my issue. Now I have 2 catalogues being delivered so it wasn't my issue but theirs.
I ordered many garments to make a whole mini collection as my daughter suggested layering and styling. I spent well over £500 which to me is a huge purchase.
It takes about a week for delivery which I expected as the items leave from Sweden and I left good time for any delay or potential exchanges before my event but on arrival my parcel had two items missing and so was my paper work. The bag wasn't sealed at the top and items could fall out easily.
There was a delay in getting customer support and then I had to wait for the replacements. Shannon did sort out that issue. Sadly both items were the wrong fit for me. My daughter had warned me how the sizing varies and the given bust measurements don't always help the over all fit.
I now had only 6 days until the big event and decided that I'd keep one item and send back the rest of the order without exchanging because the event meant us going away and the whole family not being home on possible redeliveries. I'd been relying on my son in law to collect and drop off due to my health needs.
I got my daughter to help me manage the very odd returns system and on my daughters advice kept track of the parcel after it was dropped off at the parcel shop because apparently they have a known history of not responding to UPS about releasing custom requirements.
I swiftly emailed Shannon when on the first day of collection the tracking showed customs release was needed only to get an odd email about separate order proformas and no actual help with customs release. UPS had seemingly messed up the postcode and rectified it but that wasn't the issue. Customs needed releasing by Gudrun Sjorden to UPS.
I reemailed the order@ asking again for the UPS customs request to be sorted. I got no response for over 3 days. On the Friday before the family all left for my Birthday event I called the company and the CS refused to believe me that UPS needed custom support. I went round in circles asking and got told there was nothing needed to be done.
Tracking then updated to returning to sender. It would be returned to my daughters home address who would be away with us and for the whole birthday event I was worrying about £300 and feeling very upset towards the CS team. More infuriating is another CS agent emailed saying the hold had been rectified after it was on the way back to me so there was an issue.
When I got home and the parcel was back in my lap I contacted customer services expressing my upset and got a very basic 'send to London store' response and CS putting the blame on UPS.
My son helped me look into sending to London but the high amount of the parcel requires over £14 postage to cover insurance on event of lost parcel. Gudrun will only reimburse £7. I've contacted trading standards and they have advised to request they send me prepaid returns or a reimbursement of any over payment on the postage and if not to involve my credit card provider.
I'm pretty disgusted about how a beautiful gift has turned into a CS team acting like I'm lying or stupid and all I want now is my full refund and never to order again. It shouldn't be like this and the company in London who are more of a concession I believe shouldn't have to manage these returns and their brand being sullied.
Take it from an old hat, don't bother with Gudrun Sjödén.

Fell in love with the fun prints of this brand. Replaced most of my wardrobe over a couple of years but their pre-orders (6 months in advance) are awful. Dozens of marketing emails a week and print advertising coming in floods and a single email in the mix requiring you to call to re-charge your card. No notice of cancellation no second attempt to email or call. One email in the mix and items never arrive after months of waiting. The last 4 orders have had incorrect items shipped (correct ones no longer in stock when I called to fix). This company needs to take a step back and figure out how to do fulfillment before they continue. The fabrics are thinner now than they were even a year ago and the prices are steeper. Just a shame that a company this old has gone down the toilet so fast.

Very disappointed in Gudrun sjoden company lately.
I have been a customer fir many years while the design is great the quality is gone down and the customer service is terrible. I have received items with stains lately, also ordered items twice to tell me that they are not in stock and make me wait a month to finally send. If not in stock don’t put them on your website. Very greedy company. And let’s not mentionned their courier service UPS which is completely useless. It is a shame but unfortunately I will not order anymore at Gudrun Sjoden fir those reasons.

I am absolutely not interested in clothes that include rayon. My favorite fabrics are the cotton/linen blends, and modal/cotton blends as well as 100% cotton. I do miss having multiple Lycra leggings to chose from, not just a few prints...miss the option to by solid since they do not cling to the cotton and linen fabrics. Love tees, dresses and tops that extend to the elbow or slightly below. Drop sleeves just look frumpy. Would love to have a bigger selection of lightweight woven cotton shirts to choose from and layer with.

I feel like i have been dealing with a whole other company compared to what i have experienced at Gudrun...
I've been a customer for about 7 years. I've enjoyed all that i purchased. There were a couple of times where there was a problem with fit, or the making of the garment, but i had no problems in returning the items. I've received refunds in a timely manner. I adore the designs of this company, and am very sorry to hear that there has been so much dissatisfaction.

Appalling service. I asked for an exchange. (Because their sizing is wrong). After 10 days I emailed them and asked where my exchange order was. They had an excuse about a courier issue and said the item was in its way back to me!!!! They expected me to print another label ;(involving a trip to the library copier/printer) and do it all again! At this point I was not prepared to wait for an exchange and asked for a full refund instead. They say they charge £7 for returns/refunds. This is unfair because they failed to action the exchange in a reasonable time.
I see that other customers have had their parcels sent back to them. I will never buy from them again.
