It was very easy and fast to pick-up and return the car. It was also very comfortable and easy to use the shuttle that drives very regularly between the terminal and the office location. A small det... See more

Easy to use
Easy to use. Adapted to our needs with a pick up near to our hotel in Porto, and allowing us to drop the car back at the airport at the end of our trip.
Faro Airport
Hired a Minibus for four adults and four children. Arrived 20:30 27/12, it was wet & windy. The girl at the check in desk was great, professional and efficient and she took less than five minutes to fill out the necassaries on a large digital screen and point us in the direction of our Minibus. As recommened by the girl, my son took a video of the whole of the vehicle while we loaded it up and I familiarised myself with the controls. Within fifteen minutes we were on our way. On return, 01/26 New Years Day, I drove into the compound and was greeted by a gentleman who checked the Minibus over while we unloaded it. We agreed everything was in order and I signed the Tablet accordingly. Within ten minutes we were making our way to the Terminal. The desposit was returned to my Bank Account the following day.
The whole process was efficient, professional and friendly. I don't know what I was worried about.
Well done all
Never again
We rented a car here. Initially, everything went well, until the car broke down. The office was unavailable for a long time. We ended up waiting a long time for someone to come and look at the car. He couldn't get it started; it was parked in a garage. Nothing else was arranged or resolved. The next day, we received a call saying another repairman would be coming. We had to come to the garage after breakfast. They still didn't look for a solution for us. Eventually, these guys managed to get the car running, so we could go to the office at the airport. We had to pay our parking ticket first. The service there, again, wasn't great. We spent a lot of time waiting for various mechanics and driving back and forth, incurred costs for rides and taxis, and only received a voucher. For a company that claims to be there for its customers and prioritize mobility, they're doing a pretty bad job. Never again.
Don’t go when it’s close to lunch
Pick up went well! Drop off was problematic. Office was open but the staff “suggested “ coming back after lunch! Never been refused to drop off a car as it was coming up to lunch. It took more time arguing than it would’ve taken to receive the car. With 2 members of staff and no other clients.
The car needed oil
The car needed oil, so I had to buy that and fill at the car. I’ve been writing them over a week ago for a refund and I haven’t heard from anything .
GREAT SERVICE ONLINE AND ON SITE ALWAYS
Car Hire at Faro Airport
Very quick, great value and great location and staff.
The final confirmation did not mention…
The final confirmation did not mention the type of car. The email didn't either. Can you contact me to confirm the type of car?
Avoid Guerin in Madeira
Avoid Guerin in Madeira. The car broke down during the rental and Guerin demands that I pay over 1500 euros to repair the internal damage to their car, even though this is not included in the rental terms.
By far the worst experience with Guerin…
By far the worst experience with Guerin car rental in lesbian Portugal , where 1 star is actually too much.
Dear people. If you end up at this company to pick up a rental car, try to get another Our rental car was vandalized and we were charged $830 in repairs broken window , We’ve spent 2 weeks trying every possible way to reach Guerin for the documentation our insurance needs, and they have not responded once. No customer service, no support, no resolution. Extremely disappointing—avoid this company at all costs.
Guerin incharging abuse
My problem is how can Guerin incharge my credit card without any authorisation after 8 days since car was droped?
Yes IT is posibile, they have an agreement directly with Mastercard.
So be careful and avoid this by keeping your data card secure.
Good service by the employees
Good and quick service by the employees and online check-in is good
I was charged twice for an additional…
I was charged twice for an additional driver because I had forgotten my driving licence when collecting the car in coimbra. Your customer service informed me that this is stated in the small print and therefore I am not entitled to a refund. However, this condition is not mentioned anywhere, yet I have still lost my money.
*Later on, the money I had overpaid was refunded to me after all.
half the car for double the price
We booked a car for 8 days from Lisbon Airport ahead of time with Enterprise. Full cost was £177.53 for "Hyundai Kauai or similar" (which has a RRP of £30k). We included ALL options for cover - there was nothing we did not opt for. There was no mention that more costs would be due at airport, or that this service would be provided by anyone other than Enterprise.
On arrival..
* the service provider is actually a local firm called Guerin (NOT enterprise).
* the car was a Seat Arona (RRP £20k). So the car we were promised is 50% more expensive than the one provided. This is NOT "or similar", any more than Ronnie Corbett is a "similar height" to John Cleese.
* We are presented for the first time with the news that we have no insurance, and must pay extra for this. The cost of insurance for 8 days was pretty much the same cost as already paid: Euro192 - roughly £170.
At this point we had no option but to pay.
So you get half the car for double the price. Avoid at all costs. Hertz were onsite at Lisbon airport, and I doubt would pull such a stunt.
Rip off merchants
Absolute sharks. I returned my hire car to Lisbon airport. There was a tiny mark on the sidewall of the tyre, and they said the whole tyre had to be replaced. The charge for a single tyre? €475! What an absolute farce. It's clear that Guerin/Enterprise don't value their customers and just want to take any opportunity to rip them off. I asked the manager on duty to how they could justify such rip off prices, knowing full well a replacement tyre wouldn't cost anything near this price and she just shrugged it off and said 'claim on your insurance', as if it didn't matter I was being ripped off because my insurance would cover it (I didn't have any insurance to cover it).
I complained and she gave me the customer service email and said contact them. I have sent four emails now and heard absolute nothing back they just won't respond and have ignored every email.
I was regular customer or Enterprise/Guerin and feel badly let down by them being ripped off and now being ignored. I will never hire from them again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If you do have to use them, make sure you have cover to reduce the excess to €0, because the will fleece you hundreds of Euros for the tinniest mark/damage.
Absolute worst treatment I have ever…
Absolute worst treatment I have ever received anywhere. The manager at Guerin in Faro was beyond rude. I am handicapped, and my cards were not being accepted, even though they were valid, and had enough credit to cover the costs.
I was sweating, out of breath, and treated poorly. I was offered no assistance, and the person moving me around in a wheelchair was only authorized to take to to the exit of the airport. I was on the verge of a serious medical issue, for which I was presented with a complete lack of empathy, and understanding. A simple ride back to where my wife was waiting would have resolved the situation. Our initial flight was delayed by 4 1/2 hours because of an administrative issue, and as a result we were seriously delayed, exhausted, and treated like dirt when we arrived to retrieve a car. No chair was offered for me to even sit down, while it was clear I was in pain, with an elevated heartrate, sweating, and out of breath because of the long walk to the rental location. Guerin have basically stolen my money.
Booked Alamo through a third party…
Booked Alamo through a third party website and as we were in Portugal, it assigned us a Guerin car. Honestly no complaints, got nervous handing the car back purely because of the reviews (the car was in good condition) but the guy was fab that we handed it back to, only charge after handing back was for tolls as expected. Great experience, no complaints!
Worst car rental ever
Worst car rental ever. Website has wrong info about pickup, they close at 11:30pm with no after hour option (website is a lie). staff doesn’t care. Any number we tried calling, including the emergency number during the day or evening, no-one answered!
By far the worst experience with this…
By far the worst experience with this car rental company in Portugal!!, where 1 star is actually too much.
Dear people. If you end up at this company to pick up a rental car, try to get another company through your booking agent.
We booked our vacation with Eliza was here and got a rental car through this company. It was a Hyundai I20. Check-in went fairly smoothly, but it was very rushed. We had to quickly take photos of the damage to the car, otherwise we would be charged for it upon return. We did so. We had to drive an hour and a half to our holiday destination and after 45 minutes we realized that the car only had a quarter of a tank of gas. It had not been filled up when we picked it up. We called and emailed Guerin, but no one responded. Even the emergency number was not answered. We explained the situation to Sunnycars in the Netherlands and they told me when I returned the car that everything would be fine. Filling up the car cost me €50.01. The day before returning the car, you receive a rather aggressive text message telling you that you must return the vehicle with a full tank, otherwise you will be fined €36.90, which will of course be deducted from your credit card deposit, plus the cost of the fuel, of course. Guerin's rental agreement also states that the fuel policy is that you receive the car with a full tank and must return it with a full tank. So, I returned the car with a full tank. Upon return, the car was meticulously inspected for damage and other issues. Strange! Because the car is fully insured through Eliza. I really had a gut feeling that they wanted to deduct the cost of any new damage from your deposit in order to line Guerin's pockets. At the counter, I met Chantal Oliviera. I told her the story and she saw that I had sent an email to Guerin on the day I picked up the car. But as expected, there was nothing she could do for me. I'm not going to get my 50 euros back. I was supposed to receive an email from her manager the next day. I did receive it. It was just an apology and that they regretted how things had gone. And then you get a kind of voucher that allows you to rent a car for one day free of charge with an upgrade within a year, subject to availability at the location. I don't want that at all. I just want my 50.01 back. I am fully entitled to it according to their terms and conditions. Chantal also told me that the person who rented the car before me had been fined 36.90. And then, of course, there are the costs for refueling, which was not done. Just imagine how quickly Guerin tries to rip off their customers in every way possible. Not to mention all the damage to the rental vehicle that was not repaired. But they did keep the deposit and claim it from the insurance company. In short, you have been warned not to rent from these scammers!!!!!!
Two weeks after my review, they responded, saying they were sorry and that this wasn't their normal course of action. They also wrote that if I needed more information, I could contact them directly. But how? They don't have a personal email address, and they don't answer the phone. I JUST WANT MY 50 EUROS BACK!!!!
