Absolute Rip-Off!!!

Terrible experience from start to finish.

When we arrived, the greeters were hard to find, disorganized, and not personable. After already waiting over an hour for our luggage, we were told the shuttle wasn’t even there yet — with no timeline provided and our requests for an updated ETA were ignored.

We also paid extra for beverages, which were not available. When we asked about them, we were told we’d have to wait even longer if we wanted what we already paid for. No apology, no accountability — just told we could take a taxi at our own expense.

The return trip was even worse. When our flight was briefly delayed, we requested pickup at 2:30 instead of 1:30. When the flight time reverted back, they refused to come at 1:30 and said it “wasn’t their problem” that 2:30 left us extremely tight for our flight. We asked for a refund since they couldn’t get us to the airport on time — denied.

Long waits, missing paid amenities, dismissive staff, zero customer service, and refusal to refund despite failing to deliver what was promised.

Would never recommend. Save your money and book literally anything else.

Keep an eye on your belongings

While Happy Shuttle Cancun was relatively on time and transported us to our hotel without issue, the overall experience was disappointing due to how they handled a lost personal item.

After being dropped off, my jacket was missing. Inside the jacket pocket were my Google Pixel Buds and other personal items. I contacted the company multiple times to inquire. They claimed they conducted a “thorough inspection” of the vehicle and stated that another passenger may have taken the jacket.

This explanation does not make sense, as we were the only passengers in the vehicle. There were no other riders who could have taken it.

Despite repeated follow-ups, Happy Shuttle denied responsibility, citing their terms and conditions, and did not offer any meaningful assistance. While I understand policies regarding lost items, the response lacked accountability and transparency, especially given the incorrect assumption about other passengers.

If you choose to use this service, be extremely careful with your belongings. On-time service alone does not make up for poor handling of a legitimate issue and dismissive customer support.

Horrible Company, do not book

After a rough year, things were looking up, so we decided to celebrate with a last minute trip to Playa del Carmen. After doing extensive reviews and research, I settled on booking with Happy Shuttles, for a private transportation to our hotel. On the form, they ask for the usual: flight arrival times, size of party, etc.

I got the instructions to meet their greeter/receptionist after exiting the airport, which again, fine and normal. Happy Shuttle is a popular service, and I wasn't expecting a person with a sign and our name or anything, but this was about the time when everything went off the rails.

I checked in, showed our reservation, and greeter checked us in, and told us to wait, our shuttle would be there in about 10-15 minutes... 20 minutes later, we are still waiting, and a couple groups who arrived after us were taken away. We asked politely how long it would be until our shuttle, and was told the driver was on the way, and it would be another 10 more minutes.

After 15 more minutes of waiting around outside the airport arrivals terminal, he told us (and about 10 other people) to follow him to a parking island, where we were waiting behind about 5 or 6 vans. Everyone else was given a van, but we were told to wait another 10 more minutes.. (we're up to an hour wait now for a private shuttle that was booked and paid for).. 3 more groups came and were sent off... when we asked again, where the shuttle was 15 minutes later, we were told "If you want better service, you should have paid more..."

These guys aren't cheap, and the private hotel shuttle would have only been 20USD more.. I'll know for next time... I contacted their customer service, but was told the wait times are within expectations, and there is no refund possibility

The absolute worst cab company in…

The absolute worst cab company in history. The positive reviews must be fake. Over 30 minutes late on arrival with no apologies whatsoever (we were standing in the rain outside airport) and after waiting 30 minutes for collection to the airport no shows!!! No answer on the phone for ages and eventually told 5-10 more minutes (we got into another taxi!) - look elsewhere!

BE CAREFUL!

BE CAREFUL!! BE CAREFUL!! dishonest company, I made a reservation for a Van from the airport to the hotel, arriving at the airport they had not made the reservation. They apologized in the email and simply did not return the amount charged. CAUTION are not correct. 22 Dez 2025.

Pickup they said would be 10 minutes they made us wait 40 minutes.

Pickup from resort back. Never showed up. Told us they would be 10 minutes late. Instead they never showed up at all. We called and called they kept hanging up on us and putting us on hold for 20 plus minutes and then would disconnect. After about 30 minutes or so of is calling finally they say hey find a ride were not coming. Had to book a taxi and pay additional $200.00 for just a 1 way to the airport. Barely made it to the airport with a sick mother and 3 kids and 5 adults. Just absolutely terrible company failed us from start to finish. Stressed and abused us financially,mentally,physically and emotionally.

I booked a private transfer

I booked a private transfer, waited 20+ mins. with many others waiting and no Happy Shuttles in site. You could tell the Happy Shuttle guys were getting stressed out. Then I saw some Happy Shuttle guy together talking away from everyone.

The Happy Shuttle guy told me to follow him and handed me off to a driver, a driver that didn't have a Happy Shuttle shirt on, etc. This man looked awful, dirty, sweaty, etc. and the shuttle was filthy inside. When I said "Hola" he said nothing and not one word during my horrible transfer. I think they handed me off to a driver that didn't even work for Happy Shuttle just to get people out of there since none of their shuttles were showing up.

This guy kept slamming on the gas and brake non-stop, jerking me back and forth AND drove past my resort. My neck was killing me during the transfer and throughout my whole trip. I was taking ibuprofen trying to ease the pain to no avail. When I arrived home and saw a doctor, my doctor said I had whiplash.
This was my first time using Happy Shuttle and will never use them again. They ruined my trip due to being in so much pain.
When I called their phone number to let them know, each time I called I got a recording and then disconnected. There was no option to leave a message or reach anyone at Happy Shuttle.

Paid to be dropped at my hotel NOT 2…

Paid to be dropped at my hotel NOT 2 blocks away in the pouring rain with luggage. Not to mention waiting hour an half in the van ,because I was ask to pay if the driver got a ticket. The street was blocked i get it, which happens all the time so I was told. The young man coordinating the shuttles. VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!! Please know I have used this company several other times that why I've gone back over the years. THIS TRIP WAS THE WORST!! No compensate for my inconvenience at all! So please be mindful when booking you might be walking to be dropped off.

Nadya (Airport Rep) was amazing

Nadya (Airport Rep) was amazing. Flight issues from London to Cancun caused a delay in arrival of almost 24 hours.
She was brilliant and showed epathy and understanding and kindly arranged an immediate transfer even though we were a day late. Very helpful and service given with a smile. We were all very tired and worried about the transfer but she made it seem like it was not an issue, and we finally enjoyed the holiday. Totally unexpected and she restored trust in an overseas company (having read reviews) I'd never used.

Really well done - I would happily use again if ever fortunate enough to return to Cancun. Highly recommended for peace of mind. Nadya is an asset and exceeded my expectations.

We used Happy Shuttle service on our trip to Cancun. The drivers were very nice, although we purchased our round trip tickets for the shuttle to Isla Mujeras, and they said that since our kid was 16, we needed to purchase a “child” ticket. When we went to use the ticket at the shuttle location, they refused to let us use the ticket because they said they went by height, not age. We were forced to go back to the ticket area to purchase an adult ticket. I tried to explain to the shuttle service about the issue, but they just kept saying that Happy Shuttle gave us the wrong ticket. We had to leave our luggage, which was uncomfortable and almost missed our shuttle to the island. Not the best way to start a vacation, but in the end, we were able to get to our destination.

Booked online for Airport to Hotel

Booked online for Airport to Hotel and return for 4 of us.
Explained in detail where they would be waiting for us at the airport, and there they were. Friendly and good driver, supplied cold bottled water and took us quickly to hotel, Driver was Pinky.
Pickup at Hotel was early, 5:00 am. They arrived early and were outside when we got to reception. Dropped us by check-in.
Good clean vehicles, cannot fault them, highly recommended

Waited and waited

Waited about 35 minutes for the shuttle, the hostess told us it was due to construction , yet when we did get a driver he told us he was there all the time, seemed very disorganised, we have used happy before and where very happy, not this time sorry, the driver when we got going was very good and got us there in good time, just the waiting and waiting with no answers.

Loved our driver, Israel. He was very professional and informative. We enjoyed our trip and he even let us stop for tacos. He suggested a great place that was fantastic!

It was late... I needed my prearranged/paid ride

It was late. My car was deployed with another passenger- despite I had told them my flight #. After 35 minutes- paid for another taxi. Even though I prepaid HG. And I was informed I would not get a refund...
However, the most important was having a ride late at night in unfamiliar surroundings.

We had a great experience with Happy…

We had a great experience with Happy Shuttle on time from Airport to hotel and back and included all our pre paid drinks and snacks....
Pur holiday to Mexico has been cancelled and even got a refund ok minus a charge but will definitely use again...

Terrible company with terrible customer…

Terrible company with terrible customer service. I prepayed for them to take us to a hotel near Tulum but when we arrived at the airport the prepared private shuttle I had ordered was going to be 40 minutes late. So I canceled that portion and took a taxi. They assured me they would be on time on the way back. I did confirm with them that they would be there on Sunday to pick me up at 11:30 Am. I even called at 11:15 to double check. However I received no email from them confirming and no one ever showed up. After being left on the line for 15 minutes I was told there was no driver available to take us. So fearing that we would miss our flight we had to call a cab and wait. Luckily this driver in this company actually knew what they were doing and a taxi took us there in time for our flight. What a disaster. No apology or refund yet. DO NOT USE!!!

NOT HAPPY WITH HAPPY SHUTTLE!

Jet Blue cancelled our flight the night before our departure time. They rescheduled our departure 1 1/2 hours earlier. I contacted Happy Shuttle right away and asked Victor if we could be picked up earlier. He proceeded to tell me that they needed 24h notice for a change of pick up. I explained that this was not our fault and that I had been a customer of Happy Shuttle probably for 10 years. He refused. Luckily, airport check in was very quickly and the flight was delayed. Happy Scuttle has lost us a customer. Also, since we own property on Isla Mujeres, I have been recommending them to our guests. But now I will steer my guests to other transfer companies. They will probably lose over 100 bookings this year alone. Not a very smart move by Happy Shuttle!
