Rachel Reeves couldn't do any worse !
Whilst their policy prices are reasonable, especially for the multi-car policy, the extra charges for alterations are "daylight robbery", on par with dealing with Easy-jet or Ryan-Air. That is where they make their profit ! Also, the call centre is in South Africa. That brings it's own challenges. The trouble is, so many businesses outsource their call centres, I guess I should be thankful that it wasn't in India !

"The proof of the pudding is in the eating"
I have been with Hastings for absolutely years.
Called them to get temporary insurance to drive a new car that I have bought my eldest son. He is so busy at work with different shifts etc that he finds it difficult to fit in time to get new car.His car was 13 years old.
I only needed cover for less than 3 miles from garage to home.
After waiting forever to speak with a human being, I gave them all the info. They then tell me that they cannot actually insure me at all temporary because the new car is in my name!
I have fully comp on my jag and can drive any other car with the permission of the owner.
After all the years with Hastings, I cannot now wait for my present insurance renewal from Hastings to finish so I can move to another company.
I will now own 4 cars. My own, my wife and 2 sons.
I will definitely be doing a family insurance from now on in hopefully, a much better company than Hastings.
MESSAGE TO HASTINGS:- DO NOT BOTHER TO REPLY AS YOU HAVE SHOWN YOUR TRUE COLOURS!

After getting a truly atrocious renewal quote from Tesco's Insurance I looked around a comparison site and found Hastings. Although not the very cheapest, Hastings gave me a far better quote than Tesco's which included a few more built in protections like courtesy car and windscreen cover, and was nearly £100 cheaper. You must shop around. Staying loyal is a mugs game. It seems that most of us safe drivers, I haven't had a claim in 40yrs, are subsidising crazy and careless drivers. Hopefully in a years time Hastings won't act like Tesco's who I had been with for 4yrs. As I said SHOP AROUND AND SAVE HUNDREDS.

Painful to deal.with if you end up with…
Painful to deal.with if you end up with an online policy. Chat Messages are slow. Not been very helpful, have to keep logging back in, as the app logs you out all the time and they obviously have a very very small insurance offering as unable to quote a new policy yet comparison sites give me plenty of quotes instantly with a plethora of insurers. Hastings are obviously not in touch with companies such as Admiral, diamond or ford insure.. or they cant be bothered to respond to messages asking them to quote me a new policy. Now i have to cancel the policy with them and making sure i dont deal through them on a new policy as they cant quote any other leading insurers.
