What a team! The guys at Hawkes are so approachable and easy to deal with. Nothings to much trouble, their professionalism and attention to detail sets them apart from other garages.

They offer a highly personalised customer focused approach, totally moulded to their needs, and are transparent and honest.

In a sense they provide the 'old fashioned' service with a 'capital S' we often only wish was available in so many other companies.

On completion of my purchase I left with total peace of mind, knowing I had bought a good car at a very fair price.

Turned up out of the blue as my car had broken down a few days previously! Was greeted plesently and politely Already had a car in mind as it had been posted on website the previous evening! Was allowed to look around on my own and take a test drive on my own! Was given all the info I requested and more,took care home and hour after arriving I had to sort insurance so that's why that long! Very knowledgeable and helpful even had a years breakdown cover thrown in overall a very pleasant experience

This is the second car I have bought from this dealership and what a service they provide.
Mr Defew took me through all I need to know. I bought the Peugeot from the garage and the whole thing from start to finish was simple.

My daughter was incredibly disappointed following her visit today. Was advised only if she knew she wanted a car was she able to test drive it! Salesman whinged he would need to move the vehicles and it would cost them to clean if they are taken for a test drive!

From start to finish a fantastic job, John was very helpful as were any other staff we came across, Son delighted with his car. I'm relaxed knowing he in a safe fantastic vehicle which he had saved hard for.

We were referred them by another dealer as we only wanted a cheap first car for teenage daughter. They were polite and very honest in pointing out a couple of minor faults (which we hadn't noticed). Sale went through smoothly and contact with them after the sale was very pleasant indeed. Daughter is thrilled with the vehicle. Would highly recommend them.

I bought a used car from this company. I liked the way that they presented themselves on their website with promises of care and support and they had a choice of cars in my price range. We chose a Peugeot 307 5 door hatchback.

After two weeks I noticed a clicking noise from the engine. On their instructions we returned the car to their appointed repairers in Bury St Edmunds. The problem was a leaking injector that from the state of the pipes and cables adjacent to the injectors had been leaking for some time. There was a lot of coke in evidence. The repairs were carried out at their expense.

Two weeks later I broke down on the motorway. The AA uplifted the car again to Hawkes appointed repairer but this time they initially refused to take any responsibility for the repair. We had had the car for around six weeks driven less than 1000 miles and had broken down twice. This time the car was in the garage for a week and i was presented with a bill for over £1100 for repairs. In addition I had to bear some car hire costs whilst the car was off the road.

I subscribed to AA breakdown repair which contributed to £475 of the costs and some costs towards car hire.

In addition Hawkes did finally agree to contribute £300 towards the cost of the repair.

They are a well established family run dealership concerned about their reputation and clearly have many contented customers. But I think they did get this one wrong.
