From our home in Norway, Helly Hansen has been making professional grade gear to help people stay and feel alive for more than 140 years. It all started in 1877 when sea captain Helly Juell Hansen found a better way to stay protected from the harsh Norwegian elements. Soon thereafter, Captain Hansen and his wife Margrethe launched a business producing waterproof oilskin jackets, trousers, sou’westers and tarpaulins made from coarse linen soaked in linseed oil – and the legend was born! Helly Hansen gear is worn and trusted by professionals on oceans, mountains and worksites. As the #1 apparel brand for Ski Professionals, you’ll find HH at more than 200 ski resort and guiding operations around the world, and worn by more than 55,000 ski professionals. Our sailing gear is worn by world-class sailors across all five oceans, and we’re proud to partner with and participate in some of the sport’s most iconic regattas and sailing associations. As a leading Scandinavian workwear brand, you’ll see us at work-sites where performance, protection and safety matter most. We continue to support Captain Hansen’s legacy through a long list of first-to-market innovations developed through insights from those working and recreating in the world’s harshest environments.

Incredible customer service
Incredible customer service! The person who responded to my email about a warranty issue was super helpful and very fair! Appreciate good customer service so much

Had issue with pro account and customer service was great, fixed issue promptly
The gold standard for standing behind your gear!
It seems like people only write reviews when something goes wrong, but I firmly believe in calling out brands when they absolutely crush it. I had the main zipper fail on my premium ski jacket after some heavy use on the mountain. I reached out to their warranty team, and a rep named Ellen handled my case. Almost immediately, with zero hassle or endless questions, she issued a full account credit so I could replace it.
To put this in perspective, I recently had a proprietary belt clasp break on pants from a different high-end ski brand, and their only advice was to go find a local tailor to slap a generic button on it.
As a first responder, I rely heavily on my gear, and knowing a company actually stands behind its products means everything. Plus, as a guy with the initials HH, I’ve always loved sharing the 'HH' initials! Top-tier gear and world-class customer service. You've got a loyal customer for life.
The best warranty support process for warranty is…
The support process for warranty is simple, quick and effective.
My gortex bib that I got in 2019 were still under the warranty for a broken zapper and I received a store crédit of 390$ in my credit store HH account the same day . Thank you HH
Quality Company!
Great company that backs their products. Very good service, quality, and excellent customer service. No hesitation in ordering with this company…
Christmas gift-
I bought my husband a jacket for Christmas. He loves it, it fits well, and he wears it everyday and I also bought for a great sale price before the holidays.
The back tore - the stuffing was coming out. I reached out to HH and requested to purchase a new jacket at my original price. HH went one step farther, they gave me a store credit! I am a loyal HH customer!! Great products! New jacket is on the way and my husband is thrilled.
Exceptional Warranty Support – They Stand by Their Gear!
Huge shoutout to Helly Hansen for their amazing customer service! Had a broken zipper on my duffle bag and they handled the warranty claim perfectly. Libby was fast, fair, and incredibly helpful. If you’re on the fence about the price tag, know that you’re paying for quality and a company that actually stands behind what they sell.
Poor quality
Stitching on a £30 - plus £4 shipping- beanie fell off after a week. Cust Serv offered me £29 store credit? Informed them of actual, so they - as a 'goodwill gesture' - made it £34 store credit. Great. Can't use store credit for delivery. So now having to return and refund. Another review to let you know how that goes in a bit. Shame, it was a lovely hat for a day.
Partial Refund received... still out of pocket on delivery charges. Look elsewhere for free delivery etc.
Great customer service.
I purchased a pair of waterproof sneakers which ripped within 4 months. I contacted customer service and they asked a few questions and asked for photos to prove the sneakers were defective and got a credit for the sneakers applied to my account. I was disappointed in the quality of the sneakers but it could have been a flaw. The customer service was excellent so I would definitely purchase Helly Hansen products again.
Terrible customer service
Very poor experience with this company.
I purchased a sailing jacket (£160) online and long story short changed the delivery date with DHL and received confirmation of this. Jacket was dumped in my garden days before the agrwed and cogirmed date and the courier faked my signature ( I was away ) HH not interested in assisting and blamed DHL
I've now returned the jacket as its unsuitable it has been delivered however HH customer service nit interested in telling me when I will receive a refund and cut me off mid chat on the Web chat
I do not rate them despite their well known name and will not be buying any further sailing gear from them I suggest you buy from someone reputable also
Warranty claim
Purchased a pair of HH hiking boots and the top lace hook broke off. Was unable to find receipt from retailer who suggested we contact HH. Libby from customer service responded and with a few questions and photos submitted we received a credit to purchase new boots from HH. Excellent service and company. Thank you
Very responsive customer service
Very responsive customer service. Products are excellent quality, but expensive. Then again, you get what you pay for.

Team very responsive and process very smooth to get my jacket replaced !
Grwat Customer service !
Quality is top notch, customer service is responsive
Their quality is top notch. I’m on the snow as a coach most winter days and everything I have gotten from them has been great quality and I get compliments and questions all the time about there gear. On the rare occasion I have had to email support, like I did yesterday, they have responded within 24 hours to make things right.
They did a wrong right easily.
I bought thermals from Helly Hansen…
I bought thermals from Helly Hansen last year. I've used them for 1 winter and all the bottoms are worn away and useless now best part of £200 wasted. I won't be buying them again
I have only positive things to say…
I have only positive things to say about customer service. I didn’t get the help I needed at the store where I shopped ( not an HH store). I contacted customer service through the HH website in Norway, and they were extremely helpful and understanding.
Front Line “Pro” account needs work
Good quality. On the expensive side.
I am a front-line worker and my account was designated “Pro.” At first, I appreciated the designation.
I usually buy things at HH on sale because… you’re on the expensive side… and I don’t care if it’s last season’s fashion.
Being a “Pro” doesn’t do anything for me for sale items, apparently.
Beyond that, HH usually offers free shipping for purchases over $99 (sometimes over $50). Not so for Pro accounts. Why is that? Why would you penalize people who work on the front-lines?
Other than getting 15%off full price items (who is paying full price?), I don’t see any advantage… only harm.
Outstanding Performance
I have been working with Helly Hansen for several years and my experience has consistently been excellent.
The quality of their products is outstanding. They are clearly designed for real professional use, not just for appearance. Reliable, durable and well thought-out technical gear that performs when conditions are demanding.
I would also like to highlight the customer service. The response has always been fast, efficient and, most importantly, human. You feel you are dealing with people who understand both the product and the needs of professionals, not an automated system.
A brand with a strong heritage, true to what it promises and a benchmark in technical and maritime equipment. Highly recommended.
