TJR Bathrooms Ilford unfriendly and dishonest

TJR bathrooms in Ilford is a Heritage Bathrooms showroom. I have had the most awful experience with them. They promised delivery in a couple of days. Once payment made, they delivery time was delayed. They then claim that any refunds would be less 25% even though no T&Cs made clear at the start. They sell you fittings you don't need and then make every excuse not to refund. Customer service is unfriendly and in my view, also very dishonest.

Beware unhelpful customer service

I purchased a very expensive roll top bath from Heritage in 2017 which I loved. Unfortunately we started to have problems with the spring plug in about 2021. We didn’t contact Heritage immediately as my partner put WD40 on and it seemed to work better. However a little earlier this year it stopped working completely so I contacted Heritage under what I thought was a 25 year guarantee asking for a replacement. I was told that as the plug only has a 5 yr guarantee there was nothing they could do unless I was prepared to pay almost £60 for a new one, as it was past the five years! They said the 5 yr guarantee was clearly stated on the back of the fitting instructions 🤷🏼‍♀️ As I did not fit my bath I did not read these instructions!

Toilet seat hinges rusting.

We bought a new toilet seat through a store which has been very disappointing. Having been only fitted for two weeks the chrome hinges are rusting as is the heritage label. The store have been contacted but seem to be having no luck with getting us a replacement seat from heritage. We seem to be stuck in the middle with no progress. We paid for an expensive toilet seat which has not lasted 5 minutes unlike a previous seat which we have had at least 20 years and shows no sign of rust. Very disappointing as we have always thought Heritage were a reputable brand.

First class after sales service

After six months we had a problem with the screws on our Heritage toilet seat coming loose and not gripping. The response from Heritage was first class, they listened and decided to sent us out within 24 hours a complete new replaced seat.21

Not sure I would order Heritage Bathrooms again.

Ordered & fitted 5 Heritage bathrooms comprising the Granley wc, basins, taps etc. a few years ago. Have had so many problems with the white soft closing toilet seats. All 5 had to be replaced within warranty. Warping and hinges moving. They just do not seem to fit the wc very well and are poor quality. I contacted Heritage who were very helpful and sent me new toilet seats but Heritage advised me that the new toilet seats they sent me would not be covered under the warranty so I am now in the process of replacing all 5 toilet seats again. I do feel that there is an issue with the seats and the Granley wc. I lived in my main house for over 10 years which has a different brand of bathroom and never had to replace any toilet seats.

A few years ago I had some new taps…

A few years ago I had some new taps fitted and the plug connection kept coming apart. Finally a plumber suggested I went back to Bristans to ask what to do. In spite of it being 4 years later they sent me a whole new plug with its fittings so I am very happy!

Poor quality wooden toilet seats

I purchased 3 walnut toilet seats from Heritage 3 years ago and out of these two have broken/degraded. On one the seat split and gives us splinters and on the other the Heritage metal plate has rusted. I have applied for replacement/refund through the seller but have been advised this is now outside the warranty even though the first toilet seat actually split within a year. I'm really not impressed as these products should last well beyond this.
