Car rejection not fit for purpose
Purchased a car had it 4/5 months, couldn’t use it for a few weeks after purchase due to a recall,(airbags) this was not a recall issue at the time of purchase, a few days after the recall all the alarms and lights started going off I contacted dealership and explained was asked to take car back a week later, at this time the lights had reset and was told there was no codes stored, however before the car returned to dealer I had the onboard system read by the main dealer they gave me a report which I sent over, I contacted my finance company to explain, I then got a text from the garage saying because I had made a complaint was not willing to do any work and that no lights or codes where on or in the system, I don’t get how codes disappear, I also did not make a complaint, after passing my test I was driving home and alarms lights everything started going off I text dealer and he collected car the next day, wet belt was replaced after getting the car back around a week later again alarms lights the lot took car back again and was told oil sensor fault, left car with garage again, after getting car back around 2 weeks later same again !! I called my finance company and requested permission to take this to an independent garage, my first thought was maybe the onboard computer had not been told work had been done so took it to a auto electrician they read the fault codes and said it was a mechanical issue but from there experience the engine looked knackered, took the car to a mechanic they put cameras down and the VVT value had shredded contacted finance to make them aware and send both garages reports after lots of back and fourth finance company booked there own inspection, the report stated due to previous repairs on the car it had severely effected the engine durability and was advised by mechanic to not drive report was sent to finance company who upheld this and I have rejected the car, the car has now been collected and all money refunded from finance company, I felt my first impressions of Holly tree was great however when things started to go wrong communication was lacking when asked after the 3rd visit what work had been carried out never got a straight reply, the car had only covered 800 miles in the time I had it however 267 of these miles was from when the garage had it I appreciate they needed to road test however upon checking my app/telematics the car was being driven around at 10pm at night when it was supposed to have been in a garage I am glad this few months horror is now over and I can move on this has massively made me a nervous driver now due to these issues however we live a learn from our mistakes and probably should not have brought the first car I saw because it looked pretty
