I was successfully connected with a capable technician in a reasonable time frame. The request was posted late in the evening but initially there was not any response and then received two calls in a matter of minutes in mid-morning.
I would have liked better feedback on who actually was looking at my service request to confirm the process was effective.
Ben was very understanding of my concern about my furnace. Easy to talk to. Professional. Knew what
Home Advisor gathered enough information to recommend companies well equipped to solve my problem. I got my repairs quickly, for a competitive price.
We were in a bind and needed the work done so our life could get back to normal again. We were very pleased with the promptness and the honesty.
I woke up to no hot water. I searched on Angi for a plumber. Kyle called me right away and had me send pictures. He got right back to me. He came to fix it within a few hours. He checked and the water heater was still under warranty so the parts didn't cost me anything. He fixed it and let me know exactly what he was doing and only charged me for the labor. I am very pleased with his work and work ethic. It's good to know of a plumber that I can count on!😀
Mir diagnosed the problem, gave a quote, came back and fixed the problem and the price did not change.
Not good for appliance repair AT ALL! I specifically, with A LOT of detail, put in my issue with my 9 year old LG Washing machine - including the error code as well as the ten steps, in detail, that I did to try to clear it! I asked for someone to come REPAIR my washing machine ( I don't have the license to order appliance parts) - I was ordering a repair person who could come with the appropriate parts on their REPAIR TRUCK or could order them. The "LE" error code clearly states on line at the LG site that it has to do with the drum being stuck, the belts are broken or the motor is no good. Well I already determined that the drum wasn't stuck - because I spun it by hand. I put this detail in my write-up to the technician that the drum moved so its therefore the belts or the motor. The person that Angi sent had no truck only a personal car! Once he was done he said I NEEDED to order the parts!! He didn't even have a part number for me to order!! OMG WHAT a complete waste of my time and $402 for nothing!! I called and the customer service rep for Home Advisor- Angie who stated that she reversed the charges with and no crazy "late cancelation fee" - we'll see, but I just rescheduled my whole morning (I have businesses) for nothing! He even re-hooked up my water lines wrong crossing and mixing up the cold an the hot! Who Angie hooked me up with was NOT a repair technician of any sort - my 5th grader knows which side is hot and cold (note there is a clear "H" and "C" on the machine). :(
A good range of qualified contractors was provided
I joined Angi's membership program in order to get the discounted rate on a project. They lead you to believe that the
Angi quoted price in the total rate that will be charged. They specify the time allotted and when the pro shows up and says that the estimate isn't correct, they want more. It seems that the amount paid to the pro is half or less than the Angi quote. So, the pro doesn't want to do the project for the amount coming his way. So, it seems that Angi want's too much for their end and the pro wants more. It appears that the pro may be using Angi to get the lead and then renegotiates the job for the amount quoted. It's an all round PITA. Angi should be transparent as to the fee break down and why do they skim so much off the top?
I had logged into the Angi website to write a review and was apparently directed to the HomeAdvisor website to write the review. I completed the review but wasn't allowed to post the review because I hadn't logged into HomeAdvisor. I had to log into HomeAdvisor and rewrite my review. This process could be better.
I place my request early hours of the morning and I got a call back by 10 a.m.
Made my research in finding upstanding businesses a breeze, I found someone within 30 minutes with a very fare quote
I was able to compare different companies and see their rating and prices. Home advisor made the experience much easier. Thank you
Home Advisor did little to ACTUALLY help me when I had bad service from the pro I hired through them. They protected only themselves in the end. I asked for many things but at minimum they could have provided a reliable trustworthy person to come inspect the damage done to my home. This should have been done at no additional cost to me. When my contractor ghosted me, they said their hands were tied and I should take comfort in the fact that they wont be used anymore. There are all around shady practice in requiring that I post an negative review before they would even open a complaint. I fail to see what they or the recommended party did at all to help me recover my losses. I could have become a long term customer but instead I would not recommend them to anyone who wants a safe place to hire contractors. It is a real shame how they walked me right into the very trap I was trying to avoid and then left me hanging out to dry.
