I had ordered a couple of items from HD on line as well as a product from the Newmarket store. The online products arrived without incident, although the communications on the delivery was abse... See more

Watch the Self Check-Out Screen when you start scanning your stuff
A Display on Self Serving Check-out was hiding someone else's unfinished transaction with a "Start Scanning" Screen. I was concentrated on scanning my stuff and did not notice this first. They issued a refund but this looks like intentional computer set up to cover someone else's theft in hope the next customer would not notice. A store customer service associate did not have a clue how to address this. Pay attention what's on the display before you start scanning your stuff.

We bought a dishwasher over two months…
We bought a dishwasher over two months ago ?(today is the 26th May 2026). We paid for delivery, installation and removal of the old dishwasher. The dishwasher came two weeks later and the installer one week after that.During removal of the old dishwasher the installer scratched the cabinet door to the left. On bringing in the new dishwasher the installer damaged the wood floor and then scratched the face of the same cabinet door. I have made at 20 phone calls to Home Depot and and written many more emails with photo's and full description of what happened to Home Depot, their claims adjuster and the installers claims adjuster. They have never called me unless I called them its now over two months and they say I should be patient. Today I am going to small claims court to file a claim. I am disgusted as a customer of some 22 years having bought thousands of dollars of appliances and goods from them with never a complaint from me.

DIY Bedroom Project
I was considering getting blackout curtains for my bedroom and found a wrap around rod at Home Depot from the Home Decorators Collection. Wanted to see the instruction manual before purchasing so I checked the website and it said to call 1-800-628-0525 for a pdf version as it was no where to be found on Home Depot.ca or anywhere on the internet. After waiting almost 1 HOUR on hold trying to get the manual I gave up. THEIR SERVICE IS THE WORST!
INCOMPETENT STAFF and ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE
This is regarding the store at 130th ave se calgary. It is filled with unknowledgable staff who are absolutely clueless. There are many of them just hanging out that know NOTHING about ANYTHING in the store. So, I ordered a part online because I cant stand dealing with their incompetence in store. The part was late, so I called the store to find out why it wasnt in yet. The phone rang 148 times before someone answered - this was on a weekday morning. When they answered you could hear people laughing and talking amongst themselves?! Do they just hang out and ignore customer calls? Anyways, they could not give me a reason why the part was not in, so I cancelled the order. Went onto AMAZON and ordered the exact part for almost half the price and it was delivered to my door the following day - FREE. OMG - I will never purchase anything from Home Depot that I can get from Amazon going forward.
Ordered a gazebo online but NEVER delivered
Ordered a gazebo online and it was supposed to arrive over a week ago. After multiple follow-ups with customer service, I was told the “inventory number” is showing an error — which honestly should not be the customer’s problem to deal with.
I requested a refund since they seem to have lost track of the order, but apparently that’s not an option either, so the customer has to share the pain. Extremely disappointing experience overall.
I was planning to place several more orders with them, but after this experience, I will likely stay away if possible. Very poor customer service and a frustrating experience from start to finish.
Extremely poor online order performance
I chose to order a bbq from Home Depot online as the identified delivery date provided during the ordering process was relatively quick and it allowed me to forego hauling a heavy item from a store. The delivery ended up taking twice as long as indicated (missing the date I ultimately needed the bbq for) and when it finally showed up, the handle of the bbq was broken with pieces in the bottom of the box, and it was missing hardware needed for attaching the wheels.
Therefore, in the end, I waited over a week for the item, it was defective, and I ended up having to haul the bbq back to a store to return it, and then spend the time picking up the same bbq from a competitor's store and hauling that home.
I wasted 5-7 hours of my time altering my schedule to be present at the late delivery date, unpackaging, examining the defective bbq, re-packaging, returning the bbq to a local store, and then traveling to a competitor store to purchase a working bbq.
I'm very unimpressed with Home Depot's online ordering system and will not be using it again. I am posting this review here, as there are no options for submitting an online review/complaint on the Home Depot website. I suspect I know why.
Bad experience at home depot
I rented an sugar for drilling to fix my fence on May18, 2026 at 6 pm. One of the employees had recommended a small size augor but later I realized I needed a bigger one. Next day at 9:40, I returned the equipment explaining to the supervisor that I was unable to finish the job because of the size but she said to "me this is your problem " and charged me for 24 hours rental because I was few minutes late.
I ended up paying $129. When I told them since you charged me for 24 hours please give me a bigger one because I already paid for 24 hours while I used only 15.5 hours.
They refused and asked me to pay $75 extra!!!
My advise is that when you deal with home depot make sure exactly what you need instead of trusting emplyees' recmmendation.

We received a damaged air conditioner…
We received a damaged air conditioner with a missing third prong on the plug. It looks like we received a used, returned item. It was also cracked at the side and the bottom wheel was damaged. We were missing the warranty and instructions and the remote. A missing third prong is dangerous.
It continues to be a total nightmare. After they sent us a new air conditioner to replace the damaged one, the delivery service would not take back the damaged one at the same time. A separate delivery service had to be scheduled to pick up the damaged one. It is impossible to contact anyone at customer service as well. We have been inconvenienced for two days so far. Management doesn’t seem to respond either. Nightmare!!!!!!!
I ordered one dishwasher online through…
I ordered one dishwasher online through Home Depot including installation. I later cancelled the order and notified Home Depot of the cancellation. After this, Home Depot attempted to take additional money from my account even though the full amount for the original dishwasher and installation had already been charged.
Days & Ross advised me there were two dishwashers under my name, both of which were being returned to Calgary. I checked my bank account and confirmed that Home Depot refunded the original order amount. However, Home Depot also withdrew an additional unauthorized amount relating to a second dishwasher that I did not order or approve.
I have phoned many times to try and speak with anyone but it is very hard to get a person and when i called the 1800 online customer service when i got through the women transfered me to a other line i couldn't get throughy to speak with anyone so i called back and the second time the women couldnt find my accout information or help me in anyway.
What went wrong no contact on delivery. Material dropped on the side of the street in the rain
What went wrong? Now that's hilarious. First the location. Home Depot Shawnessy. Date is today the 15 May 2026. I ordered 5 sheets of material for delivery. I was patiently waiting at home. Lunch time came around and I went downstairs to make lunch. This is when I noticed that the home depot delivery service (Sub Contractor) had dropped the material on my front lawn in the rain. No phone call. No knock on the door. Nothing. When I called customer service it was like what do you want us to fo about it. They didn't actually say that, it was the impression given when I was talking to whoever on the phone. It is the last time I will order from this store. If you're not picking it up yourself buy somewhere else.
Being a 22 year consumer card holder
Being a 22 year consumer card holder, I when to use card like always have , didnt work, weird, after jumping through multiple hoops to talk to someone they said my card got canceled, I asked why and said missed payment, ive always paid my home depot as it is $0 , right now after 22 years they say i gotta re apply, so stupid thinking Lowes be a better place to shop now , thx home depot
We are extremely disappointed with the…
We are extremely disappointed with the service at Home Depot. A few months ago, we ordered a full set of appliances: a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and an over-the-range microwave. Due to a mistake made by the company installing our kitchen, we had to replace the microwave.
We called the phone number listed on the paperwork for order changes and clearly requested to cancel only the microwave. We were assured that the rest of the appliances would still be delivered on May 9. After that, we went to the store in person and ordered a different microwave for the same delivery date.
On May 9, only the new microwave was delivered. When we called the same number again, we were told that the operator who canceled the microwave had somehow canceled the delivery for the entire order. Nobody informed us about this.
The most frustrating part was the attitude of the operator. Instead of trying to help, showing any understanding, or even apologizing for the situation, we were made to feel like this was our fault for changing the microwave. The operator showed absolutely no concern about the problem. There was not even an attempt to arrange a new delivery date quickly — we were simply told to “wait for a call.”
This level of customer service is completely unacceptable for a company of this size. We have wasted a huge amount of time, energy, and stress dealing with this situation, and we are extremely disappointed.
Do not order online
Do not order online, I repeat do not order online. I recently made an online purchase with homedepot.ca and what followed was truly a nightmare. After missing the delivery date I reached out to approximately 6 home depot reps and their credit card services, no one knew anything? Their online order support team did not even recognize their own order numbers? Not one of them could do anything to find my order? When I simply asked for a refund for an item I did not receive they said 60-90 days? Pending inspection of the item? (Which I never received?)
They posted this amount to my card? Unbelievable. This is a discretionary story for everyone. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE at homedepot.ca
Thank you
Poor Receipts
You typically have poor ink and/or printing quality of receipts. Products are good and service is good but I cannot complete the survey as I cannot read the code on the receipt due to poor printing.
Pro Desk "Expert" Advice Caused Thousands in Damage
I am writing this to warn any local homeowners or DIYers relying on the "Pro Desk" at this Niagara Falls location.
I went to this store specifically to seek professional guidance on the correct fasteners for a pressure-treated fence project. I relied on the expertise of a Pro Desk representative who personally selected and recommended a specific box of nails for my project. A year later, those nails have oxidized and rusted, causing severe "bleeding" and permanent staining across the entire fence.
When I contacted Home Depot Resolutions with a professional restoration quote and a witness who was present for the transaction, their official "Final Position" was that their "associates are not certified trade professionals" and that the responsibility was mine for trusting their staff’s verbal recommendation over the fine print on the box.
Essentially, Home Depot is admitting that the "Pro Desk" title is marketing only and that you should not trust the advice given by their staff.
Because they have refused to take responsibility for the property damage caused by their own employee’s misdirection—offering a mere $30 gift card for a restoration project worth significantly more—I am now left pursuing this matter through:
The Better Business Bureau (BBB)
Consumer Protection Ontario (Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery)
If you are building a fence or deck, do yourself a favour: go to a dedicated lumber yard or fastener specialist where the "Pro" advice is actually professional. Otherwise, you may end up like me—spending your summer fighting for a resolution instead of enjoying your backyard.
One Star I guess is okay for today
One Star I guess is okay for today
went shopping at home depot today at south key Ottawa and it seem to me that have Very poor customer service and it took 30 minutes to find someone to help and the manger also was Rude and disrespectful and he did not try to help an any way and at the end I told him I will take my business somewhere else ( he did not Care ) and this is after going to that store for the past 25 years .
Very poor customer service experience
Very poor customer service experience. my husband has a Pro Xtra membership, and he is supposed to earn rewards on every purchase he make, but total rewards haven’t even exceeded $40. However, in 2025 alone, we spent over $15,000 — he built a basement and purchased almost everything from Home Depot. The same applies to 2024, yet only a few of my invoices appear in the system. We even sent them just one invoice from October 2025, and its total alone is $1,995.
They are unable to find a solution and don’t seem willing to either. We’ve contacted them multiple times. Truly terrible customer service.
No carts available for lumbr
Went to grap some fence boards Sunday morning, not a lumber cart in sight. Went inside ,asked employee for a cart , she went outside to get me one and came back empty handed. They called other employee and still no cart. I wasn't going to carry 30 boards out on my shoulder so off to home hardware I went. I think they have new manager and the store is going downhill quickly.
