Thanks to Antwone - A Customer Service Hero
I walked into a nearly empty Home Depot at 751 AM. I needed some help. I was looking for a very specific item in a huge store. Fortunately, I ran into Antwone. He was there - demonstrating his willingness to help - purely from his body language and attitude. I knew I could ask him and he would give me the help. He did - I got the best product of its kind in the store at the best price. Price was $2.13 - including tax. Point is that I was NOT someone coming in to buy a $1000 piece of equipment - and Antwone treated me with the level of professionalism and service as if I was. I noticed that on his Home Depot jacket there were multiple badges - like a Boy Scout or a NASCAR Driver. Turns out they were for exceptional job performance and great customer service. No surprise to me. Antwone, and others like him - are the foundations for a great business. Home Depot should be both proud and grateful to have him. He represents Home Depot with complete professionalism. Little things make a big difference. Thanks Antwone!
The Woodhaven Michigan branch is decent…
The Woodhaven Michigan branch is decent as long as you don't have to interact with staff, otherwise "customer service" desk is pretty awful!! I was looking at replacing gutters on a flip home I just bought and needed help picking up a matching color. The young lady at the service desk was lazy, short and plain rude. The manager was no help either.
Great sale on name brand tools bought…
Great sale on name brand tools bought some dewalt batteries got 2 free tools also purchased 2 power stack batteries twice as much for half the price
Arbitrary limit on order
I purchased lumber in order to build a 100+ foot fence. The order included posts, concrete and cross members and pickets. I paid 79.00 for the delivery. I was limited to fifty pickets in the order. This amounts to approximately 25 feet of pickets for a 100+ foot fence. I ended up having to make several trips to pick up the other 145 pickets. The people at the local Home Depot did not believe me when I told them of the limit as they had tons of pickets available. There was no shortage, it was just an arbitrary limit. Ridiculous. In the future I will Order elsewhere.
Do NOT order cabinets from here
Do NOT order cabinets from here! They have messed up my order several times pushing my project back several weeks. They deliver half of my order then miss the other half. Put in a ticket and they never respond. The call center for customer service is useless. I had to reorder cabinets to complete my project and the SECOND TIME they were missing half of the cabinets delivering the top and not bottom BOTH times marking the delivery as complete. Worst experience ever and will not use them again. Going into 3 weeks and several calls to get the other half of a oven wall cabinet.
Home Depot run around
I ordered window blinds on-line from Home Depot. When the order arrived one item was damaged. One item was missing. The rest of the blinds were not the correct size that were ordered. I contacted Home Depot (1 hr on the phone) and they told me to put them outside and they would be picked up and credit me for the order. After multiple phone calls 3 weeks later they never picked up the returns. Still trying to resolve and I have a large charge on my credit card bill with no resolution.
Why does the score not surprise me
Why does the score not surprise me. My landlord bought carpet, asked for quick installation. I had to juggle MY work schedule to accommodate them, move everything in my tiny apartment, and they said nevermind. They said they could do another day, which i can't, but the landlord will be here. Do they want minimal supervision? Are they bonded? Can I trust them? Or do they just not give a crap about working people. Judging by their practices, they don't understand the concept of working people who need to show up for jobs.
Bad Install--basement flooding--3 days…
Bad Install--basement flooding--3 days of begging for help and they say, "We are closed for the Holiday weekend".
I have 2 feet of water in my basement--flooding ongoing. I can't turn off the water because it feeds my whole resort and I have 50 guests here.
I ask if I can just call a plumber.
Their supervisor says, yes, but we won't pay for that.
So just keep flooding until we get around to calling you.
I am on Day 3 and my other appliances are sitting in a foot of water. My $20K boiler too.
DISGUSTING.
I Waited 2 Weeks to be Disappointed
I waited almost 10 days to find out when I'd receive a delivery of $3K worth of flooring. When I did get the call, I arranged for it between 8:00am and 8:00pm on May 23. As of 7:30pm, I still hadn't heard anything. I called the store in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia to see what was up. I was told they couldn't tell me because they can't contact the driver (really?) and that hopefully the delivery showed up before 8:00pm. I asked what happened if it didn't and they said I should call back to see when it would be scheduled again. Seriously? Was also told I "should" get a call for rescheduling after the truck returned around 8:30pm. 36 hours later and nothing. I have no idea where my flooring is and a contractor booked for install. Pathetic.
we wengreat peoplet to home depot because our water…
we went to home depot because our water heater was on it's last leg. first let me tell you about custermer service, what a wonderfull staff. this is store #4640 roosevelt blvd. phila.p.a. we were attended by KAT/&Dajour they helped us out emensly!!!!!
Same old wine in a brand new bottle.
I bought a dishwasher.
I live in Texas.
There is sales tax discount in effect this weekend (memorial weekend).
Home depot would not acknowledge it.
Lowes gave me the discount plus free shipping.
Then the depot said they were not aware of the discount, ìThen flip flopped.
The home depot's new slogan should be " Anything to screw the customer."
This happens regularlly.
Praise & Thanks in Bridgeport, WV
My customer service in Home Depot in Bridgeport, WV was superior recently. All the credit goes to long-time employee "Donnie" who went to great "lengths" to help me find a product that could be adapted to my needs for an outdoor project. (He'll understand the "lengths" because I didn't have a hacksaw...if he ever sees this praise review.) Anyway, my simple project completed now thanks to his help and time! Thanks Donnie!

At the Home Depot in Yonkers there is an employee named Arthur who is excellent and very helpful. Very knowledgeable.
Avoid shopping online
I ordered 9 bags of soil and 6 of the 20-inch planter pots. I paid 35 dollars for delivery because the closest Home Depot was 2 towns away. I got the items delivered the next day, and instead of my 20-inch pots, I received 16-inch pots. I went on the website and found out I have to go to the store to return them or get the right items. I went to the store, and the HD associate told me to go get the right pots for an exchange. I couldn’t find them and asked for a refund. I also asked to get refunded for the 35-dollar delivery fee. HD would only refund half of the fee because they said they delivered the soil. My whole point of paying a delivery fee was so I didn’t have to drive 22 miles to the store (I live in CA, and gas prices are ridiculous). Since I still had to do that, what’s the point of Home Depot charging me a delivery fee, but whatever floats HD’s boat, I guess. The associate did say she gave me a discount. So after my experience with online shopping on the Home Depot website, I ended up with a wasted 44 miles round trip, 9 bags of discounted soil I don’t have pots for, a 17 dollar delivery fee, and my poor plants are still sitting in their tiny nursery pots.
It’s not just this time that online orders went wrong. I once ordered stone pavers and paid over 200 dollars but never received them. The low rating is for the online experience. The in-store experience is different. It’s good. When I was shopping in the flooring department, a knowledgeable HD associate explained the difference in MIL between vinyl planks and how it can withstand foot traffic. However, with the world moving more toward online shopping for convenience and buying out-of-stock items in stores, Home Depot’s online shopping experience is not up to today’s standards. I live in a rural area that doesn’t have the big department stores, so I do a lot of online shopping from different stores, and I have to say Home Depot has the worst online service.
Dear Homedepond
Dear Homedepond
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional service we received regarding our recent purchase from Home Depot.
In particular, I would like to thank Brian and Albert for driving to deliver our new refrigerator and washing machine. Their service was truly amazing, and they were incredibly helpful throughout the installation process. The installation was wonderful, quick, and handled with great care. Both Brian and Albert were very polite and professional.
My husband, my children, and I are all very thankful for their hard work. We are very pleased with our Whirlpool appliances and the service provided by Home Depot.
Thank you again for such a positive experience.
Best regards,
Kat and Wojciech Puk
Vile Racist Company
Vile, Disgusting excuse for a business. They should have called themselves Home Deport. They are the most racist company I have ever personally witnessed. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL.
They lie. Home Depot has no honor. AVOID.
I needed a smoke detector for a survey on Friday the 22nd. I ordered what I needed from Home Depot on Wednesday the 20th because it stated next day delivery. Today the 22st I received an email from Home Depot that stated my deliveries very was delayed and “ Delayed deliveries typically arrive within 1–3 days”. I contacted Home Depot to cancel the order. Home Depot refused to cancel the order and told me I would have to return the purchase. I the went to Walmart and bought what I needed. Home Depot lies, does not stand behind its sales so should be considered unreliable. Go anywhere else.
Credit card customer service is an automated nightmare
I recently got talked into getting a Home Depot credit card by a Home Depot employee, approval happened quickly and everything was fine until I went to pay the bill! They (Citibank?) require "tests" to my bank account, I have done these type of security checks for investment accounts but not for credit cards, did what it asked and nothing appeared on my bank account for two day, the bill was due so I sent a check in snail mail and then two days later saw the small credits to my bank account and entered them and got cleared and paid minimum payment but it was one day too late and was charged a late fee, this is where the fun really begins, I called the customer service line and it does not allow you to talk to a person, at one point the AI responses which were not helpful got mad at me because I kept asking for a person. I love technology and change but when it does not work it really sucks and the way this is designed it will just piss people off. I finally got a person but you could tell that she had to deal with very upset people who fought to get to her.
Ordered a multi Nauticdock system and I…
Ordered a multi Nauticdock system and I am missing over half of the components to complete the project. This is just extremely poor quality control and I expected better from a national corporation.
What's the point in lying
What's the point in lying? I ordered a lawnmower blade using Home Depot's website. The site very clearly said that if I selected delivery I would have the part the next day.
I received an email the next day saying the part had shipped and it would deliver that day. The email had a FedEx Ground tracking number that at the moment I received the email was not valid.
I waited several hours and tracked the package again.
FedEx's site said the product would deliver in 3 additional days.
Again... why lie? I had input the zip code for my location before finalizing the order. At every step in the process the site said I'd have it today. I'm in south Texas... the part shipped today, apparently from Georgia. It did not ship by air or via Star Trek transporter.
After tracking said I'd have it today, I called Home Depot's customer service line.
The automated system said I'd have the package today.
I asked to speak to a representative... I'm writing this review while I've been waiting for 11 minutes with no sound for someone to pick up.
So again I ask, why lie? Why set an unrealistic expectation?
Just what is the point?? Has lying become so commonplace that everyone and anyone is just supposed to accept it?
Now up to 14 minutes, certainly no one is going to answer my call, no one ever was.
Honesty from the start could have avoided me having a bad experience.
I'm sure I'm not alone!
