Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 645 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers found customer service unhelpful, difficult to communicate with, and often received bad information or rude treatment. Deliveries were frequently problematic, with items not arriving, being lost, delivered to wrong addresses, or rescheduled multiple times, causing significant inconvenience. Some also encountered defective or poor-quality products, like non-working appliances or dead plants, and faced difficulties with repairs or returns under warranty. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with the staff, praising individual employees for being helpful, kind, professional, and going above and beyond to assist with purchases or returns.

Ordered tile that came broken

Ordered tile that came broken. Driver was pushy and insisting that my crew sign foe the tile. They refused he said some choice words to them and drived off. I called home depot and said they would have to wait for the driver to cancel the order and that my refund would take 10 business days. Never again will I ever go to Home depot. If I have to drive 50 miles to a lowes I will.

CHECK PRODUCT BEFORE LEAVING THE STORE

Returned a light fixture today because the item in the box was clearly used, had paint on the item and the inside of the packaging, was missing instructions, and did not match the finish indicated on the box itself. While my interaction with the customer service agent was pleasant, she seemed unsurprised and unconcerned, and needed me to indicate whether there was a problem with the item. Customer service agents would do well to open the box and check any unsealed return -- ideally on acceptance to prevent fraud, but at the very least before returning items to stock.

Ordered porch swing in store

Ordered porch swing in store. Item was never delivered and sent back to origin. Refund or explanation was never given. Called/text chatted to inquire and was given bad information. Item is still not ordered 6 hours and at least talking to 6 employees later. If a part of it was not refunded to gift card, I would already be filing my charge back. Never again.

im not writing this review for HDepot

im not writing this review for HDs benefit cause they aint going to change!!! im writing it for customers only...where do i begin, there online store is a big joke,
looks good until you go to checkout and thats where the fun begins with "sorry something went wrong or try to refresh the page or try again later", you will go round and round with this nonsense and only waste a whole lot of your valuable time...I just tried to log into my account with their verification code only to be told there is a technical issue and try again later!!! and save yourself a big headache and not try the chat feature cause its a big friggin joke as a well...last time I tried it i spent a good half hour with the chatbot and person going over previous info submitted and then it grinds to a super slow pace...when I revealed my impatience with chatter she apologized and said she was dealing with 10 other customers and that she could resolve my issue but I would have to be patient...Im not so sure she could and not having hours I ended it...BOTTOM LINE: there IT team and customer service is a disgrace!!! suspect both are offshore, probably south america if my hunch is correct...There #1 home improvement retailer boast doesnt quite match there#99 online site and customer support...you would think they would spend less on ad boasting and more on there webservices but stockholders would not approve esp. since their CEO and other corporate wonks recieve stocks... and forget about signing up for there Pro Account because its a big joke too...I spent over $2500 this and got a whopping $25 reward!!! thats !% !!! Which I would like to use but cannot because of there non functional website plus their store employees who insist that i need the HD app on my phone or a bar code printout which I cannot find on there wonderful website...
Bottom Line: dont reward these incompetent boobs any more than you have too , cause i know I no longer will....

Terrible dishwasher install job

Terrible dishwasher install job! Brought dented dishwasher the first time...ok. No worries. New one came a week later and was 'installed' and instantly the dishwasher drain into the sink leaked. Never mind the mess the installer left in the kitchen. Called them to finish the install properly and they said they'd be there the next day and they were a no-show. Then Saturday AM I got an email that said they would show up in a couple hours. Finally showed up and said they couldn't add caulking to prevent the leak under the sink. Pointless to have them out. Go anywhere else!

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. Sheryl Hermin at the Hudson, WI location hasn’t been great to work with. We paid $30,000 for a kitchen remodel. We had to do all the leg work. Setting up all the appointments. Stuff was getting delayed. The communication between Home Depot and the contractors was awful. The contractors would get to the house and have all these questions as Home Depot never sent the contractors the information. The day before our countertops got installed she finally emailed back about electric and said we needed to have a pop up outlet and Home Depot was out of stock. Then our countertops got installed and now we don’t have electric and it’s our problem and we need to figure it out. I WOULD NEVER recommend doing a home improvement project with Home Depot. Absolutely awful customer service. Not to mention our project took over 4 months to finish.

Return policy is fantastic

Return policy is fantastic. You can return most mdse to any local store. If you don't have the receipt, they can lookup the charge using your credit card. Also, as long as the mdse is in new shape, date purchased doesn't matter either.

Corporate theives

I bought fridge in late Feb. with delivery on 4/1. Paid cash. Had to cancel order when apt fell through. Applied for refund late March and was told to go to store to get refund. Once there, was told since it's an appliance and paid cash, must wait for check. First told 7-10 business days, then 10-14, then 21 days. It's late June and still no refund! WTF!

Bait and switch with one, fraud on another.

Was working on a bathroom remodel project and had serious problems with 2 items. We ordered a vanity and 2-days after it was ordered, Home Depot's vendor called to say that particular model was not available and asked if we wanted a different color or a larger one at the same price. Told him no and was able to cancel the order, yet 2-months later, it is still available on the web site. Definate bait and switch tactic.

The other order was for floor tile. Placed an order for next day delivery. Next day get a phone call that the tile is not in stock and won't be delivered the next day, but later the next week. The order showed shipped and tracked all the way to the local store. After 3-days of no delivery, I called the local store to inquire on the status. After 2 days of working with them, find out the tile is out of stock with no eta on backorder. Cancelled order, took a month to get the refund, and the website still shows>1200 units available to order. This is the definition of consumer fraud. Using my money to refund others.

Home Depot appliance take away service? Don't bother!

I recently bought an LG refrigerator from Home Depot in New Rochelle and it's fine. I love it. This review is about the third party vendor Home Depot uses to haul away old appliances from the customer's home. My old fridge was over 35 years old and deeply stained by rust from our water here in the Bronx. I live on an island and have been told that we are at the end of the line with some of our water pipes being over 150 years old! Therefore we have rust and get red stains everywhere: sinks, toilets and the refrigerator which had a leak for a while, so it was stained. Home Depot sent its third party delivery service to bring my new fridge and take out the old one but they refused when they saw the old one. They barely spoke English but I did catch one of them mumbling about " cucarachas"! I was livid because there has never ever been a roach in my house in the 35 years I've lived here and there certainly weren't any in my refrigerator! I called customer service while they were there and at first they were sympathetic but as I was trying to get them to get a Spanish speaker to communicate with the delivery men the delivery guys got into the elevator and left. Customer service rescheduled me for the following day to try again. On the second try the same thing happened: they refused to take it and walked out. Again I called customer service --and now my blood pressure is probably 450 over 220--but the delivery guys had taken pictures of my rust -streaked fridge and so I was told by Home Depot customer service that they would not return and there was nothing I could do. Oh but they would refund my $50 for the takeaway. Gee thanks. I'm a single senior who has no one to help me get a refrigerator to the back of my building on whenever is NYC Appliance garbage day, after I have removed the doors and shelves and taped it all up and whatever else crazy annoying stuff NYC forces you to do to throw out an appliance. So I ended up calling some very nice folks at LoadUp.com who did haul the thing away yesterday,to the tune of $180 bucks. Home Depot, do better! Either get rid of those pompous ass delivery people of yours or instruct customers clearly that their ancient appliances, that are going in the trash, must first pass the white glove Martha Stewart test!!

Customers be Aware of Home Depot's Return Denials thru a Third Party

I tried to return a product that was completely sealed (not opened) with a receipt and had been paid by my valid credit card. It was denied with no justification. They pointed me to their third party, Retail Equation (TRE). I contacted TRE thru their web site. Again, no justification. They claimed I had no receipt - a total lie. I have been a loyal customer of Home Depot for years and have spent tens of thousands of dollars as a Pro customer in the last 10 years. No more. The returns now are treated like the Insurance companies: Deny, deny, deny, for no legit reason. Shame on you Home Depot for contracting with a party that has sold you their cool aid. My return was not a fraud.

TOTAL CREEPS

The creepiest creeps of all creeps. Way overpriced. They have cameras all over everywhere stalking customers with that very creepy beeping noise whenever someone walks by their cameras. Very hateful hostile attitudes towards customers. The self checkout registers invade customers privacy with that camera. They're all slimy creeps with their monopolistic abusive over priced crappy products designed to break and fall apart. The store has illegal aliens with fake or stolen identities.

Home Depot not holding Vendor accountable for not honoring warranty

I bought a Badger weed eater unit last November but did not open it until June. After opening and filling with gas and oil I noticed a leak coming from the engine. Smelled like a combination of gas and oil. Unit fell outside of the 90 day return policy, so I contacted the vendor to get the unit serviced at a "Local authorized service dealer" as stated in the warranty document that came with the unit. After providing proof of purchase and pictures of the broken, never used badger, I received a gas tank in the mail for me to replace. This was not the problem, I asked via email for a local service location where I could take the unit, the vendor responded by asking me to send the unit to them at my expense. I refused and repeated my request for a local service dealer. The vender stopped communication at this point. I called Home Depot customer care and asked them to advocate for the fulfillment of the warranty directly to their vendor. Customer Care wrote an email to the vendor and told me that they would call me back in 24 to 48 hours. I heard nothing back from Home Depot customer care in 8 days so I called them back. The customer care rep told me that the vendor never replied and that Home Depot could doing nothing more to hold their vendor accountable for not upholding the warranty.

Horrible delivery service - no consequences for multiple failures

Like many others experienced. Home Depot delivery of appliances is worse than horrible. Three times they said they were delivering my refrigerator from their Suitland, Maryland warehouse. First time they claimed their truck was too big to get onto the street. Second time delivery was supposed to be 7-11:30AM. They called between 5-6 AM. Shortly after 7AM they left because they didn't reach the unit's owner. He gave them my number and they never called me. Third time they again were delivering between 7-11:30. I called multiple times during the morning and they confirmed it was set for delivery. Around 10 AM they said I was #7 in delivery order and they were delivering #5 at that time. No word by 11:30. Called and they now said it would be delivered the next morning, without any explanation. Who ever is contracted to do delivery for Home Depot must have an iron clad contract or be related to an owner. They clearly know they can do anything they want without consequences. Otherwise the company would have been fired by now.

Horrible delivery serbice

Hello, Our delivery person was rude, lazy not cooperative. The service was downright horrible. We asked and paid for a delivery of a rug 12ftx21ft... he said he needed a forklift to get it off the truck bed. My husband literally came out took it off the truck bed by himself. That’s all we wanted him to do was take it off the truck ; he was rude and literally stood there as my husband took the carpet off the truck. Horrible horrible way to start off a morning and his attitude was just as bad. A very disappointed regular customer of home depot sadly disappointed .
