I usually love shopping here. Today however, I had a different experience. The staff who were stocking the shelves were so rude, barging around, pushing past customers and never once apologising for... See more

Found a product on the shelf however it was broken. Asked a member of staff if there were any more. She was very kind but didn’t have any more. She advised buying the item and repairing it at home. Also to ask for a discount at the till as the item was clearly broken.
Cashier was dismissive a and rude - I was obviously an inconvenience. First refused to discount. Then when asked again, sucked her teeth and made a silly offer. I asked to speak to the manager (cashier offered this as an option). Manager basically needlessly misleading & then lied and was very passive/aggressive. Basically dishonest and rude.

Solihull sears retail park purchased a sofa oct 2020 and didn’t last 16months as it collapsed on one side and was making creaking noises so I returned this week and was given gift card for the amount even though online customer service stated if manufacturers fault it would be refund, exchange or gift card. I also paid £50 to have it returned . I wanted a refund as I do not want another sofa from homesense as although they look beautiful they are not great quality.
I went in again yesterday and used my gift card for large Calvin Klein rush ck952 rug that was £199 and red label reduced to £145. Bargain you would think 🤦🏻♀️. But NO I have seen it for sale with free delivery on Woven site for £110 !!! This is the standard price. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS GREAT STORE .. it was great one time . I WANT MY MONEY BACK FOR THE SOFA AND WANT TO RETURN THE RUG TOO !!!

Homesense never disappointed me. Every time I needed anything, they always were my first choice. You can find anything there, literally. This place is like small piece of heaven. Endless kitchen supplies, living room accessories, PET SECTION! An easy 5 ⭐️ from me!

I purchased a heavy duty iron Casserole Dish from HomeSense in Chelmsford for a Dinner Party we were having. All went well until we took off the lid off the dish to find it was completely full of red rust. I took it back to Chelmsford Homesense and spoke to the Manager of the store who advised it was completely normal for this to occur. I asked him if he would wish to eat his dinner out of it but just got silence. He advised that he would not be refunding or exchanging as he didn't believe the product was faulty. I am totally miffed at his attitude. I very rarely complain and spend quite alot throughout the year with Homesense and TKMAXX. I am Very Disappointed having been an advocate of the Brand for a number of years. Really not happy.

I have bought all my home stuff in this store until today when after years coming with my dogs ( handbag size) I was thrown out saying they didn’t allow dogs in the store. First time I’m hearing this I’ve been coming with my pups all this time even staff and security have been taking pictures of them and sending to their kids. Must mention that one of the dogs was in the bag and other I was carrying.
What do you think a dog is going to do in your store? Eat a plant pot?? Your excuse as we sell food. You sell ocasional biscuit and for your information even restaurants allow dogs and they actually serve food.
Utter disappointment and not just for me. This store is often visited by pet owners I seen hundreds also because they have a pet section.
I’m going to take my business elsewhere now and never come back along with hundreds of dog owners. Maybe they just employed new people as the store staff were super grumpy and unhappy with life.
We are 21st century and LONDON. If anything more places should become dog friendly not oposite. HOME SENSE FAIL!!! ( bugsby way, Greenwich store)

Incrediably disappointed with HomeSense.
I purchased a glass topped dining table and arranged with a mover they recommended to get it home. The tabletop was scratched and chipped in over 20 spots when I received it. HomeSense admits it was damaged in their care.
I wanted either a substantial discount, in the 50% range, so that I could have the top replaced or to return it and have my delivery and return costs reimbursed.
The Homesense offer? A trivial15% off for a situation they created though their negligence and no offer of compensation for the substantial delivery and return costs I incurred.
Shop Homesense with caution.

Connor at the homesense store in birstall leeds is a credit to the company. His customer service was 11/10 was very helpful in my decision leading to purchase. Please praise him as company as he presented by far the best customer service I have recieved recently. I never usually have time to leave reviews, but I genuinely felt the need to this time around as he went beyond expected. Very happy customer :). Thanks Connor

Shocking customer service
We have frayed towels, obviously ones bought in the shop as they are on the shelves
We have a bank transaction to show that we bought the items, Lee in the store wasn’t interested. He said that the bank transactions could have been for anything!! I’m not a liar!!
We are slightly out of the 30 days as we have had covid after Xmas and I have NHS emails and texts to prove this.
I’ve never found staff as unhelpful and dismissive in my life.
Hi Olivia, the team on site said there was no point as you would say the same thing, as I will not be getting a credit note without a receipt!! It’s a very very poor policy when someone can show the purchase on their bank statement abs yes I bought other things on the day, so the price isn’t specifically related to the price of the towels, but on your purchasing system am sure you can see the date of the purchase and value and good purchase, which will tie up with my bank statement!!
Your staff in the stores need “ customer care” training course for me!’

Prefer to come here slightly over TK Maxx as it's more house bits than clothes (which I think I have enough of).
Pros:
- Great variety of brands and goods.
- Prices can be pretty fair - especially the red sale sticker items!
- Like that my local store has a good selection of food and skincare.
- The trolley basket things are convenient to wheel around.
- I sometimes forget I have the Treasure card, but it's good that I can input a receipt on at a later date. I've had some good little freebies from time to time.
- Love coming here to shop for Halloween stuff! There's usually a decent selection of quality goods. One of the best things I bought was a big skull blanket that we still use everyday.
- While both stores are next to each other, I prefer going into HomeSense. It seems to be cleaner and more well kept than TK.
Cons:
- As there's no real order to the stock, you'll need extra time if you want to forage. While I quite like the explore element, I can't deny that I can be in there for ages!
- Many of the items are the only one in the store, so once it's gone or broken that's it! Buy it or regret it type of thing.
- Some broken items are still around the main shelves instead of the sale corner, but maybe the staff just haven't found them yet?
- While the store is quite big, it is packed to the brim with goods. This can make it a squeeze to get past people (which is harder with those trolley baskets). It makes me wary in case I accidentally knock into someone or a shelf full of ornaments or something.
- The Halloween stuff isn't on sale long enough! They started selling a few months before the actual date last time and we bought a few goodies. However, the closer it got, the less Halloween stuff was there. And I mean like barely anything. Like there was some golden week to buy them and that's it. As with most shops, it gets overtaken by early Xmas stock. Boo!

Brought a bath Matt on Monday 10th January, washed as per instructions as was malting. The colours ran and ruined the matt. Took back to the store (10 miles from home). Has the proof of purchase via banking and shop checked on the system to confirm purchase. They told me I had to ring customer services, so sat in the car park talking to customers services and they began requesting pictures. Totally ridiculous as their staff in the shop could see the damage.
The manager was shocking and did not want to help, assistance my manager a lot better. Still walked away with no refund or not Matt. Do not shop here customers service are disgraceful. Awful.

Purchased a £699 Sofa in the Farnborough branch and was told the usual and very helpful delivery driver was no longer available and I had to use Anyvan.
So I booked anyvan, took the day off work and waited... and waited.. got a 4 hour late afternoon slot as opposed to the advertised 2 hour for Homesense customers, then had to dash out for the school run and contacted the driver. This was the first I heard that they had refused to collect as it was larger than they thought so despite the app showing it on route it was still in store.
I had to contact anyvan myself to complain, they blamed me on the size issue, I said it was a 2.5 seater, their driver said it was a 4 seater, the customer representative said it was a 3 seater but the person whom took the booking put it as a 2 seater.
Therefore they claimed I had to pay an addditional £27 on top of the £55 delivery charge already paid or I will loose my monies.
I refused as I have already paid for the delivery service, Anyvan is in breach of contract and the provisions of service contract under the Consumer protection Act 2015
I refuse to be left our of pocket because anyvans representative`s "opinion" on size as they could have asked for exact measurements!
I will now have to travel back 24 miles for a refund!

Bought a velvet sofa for £500 in May and it has threads coming loose on the seat so has split. Homesense ‘customer service’ have offered me £50 as a discount as it’s 1 day over the 6 months (although if they really want to be pendants I didn’t collect it until 2 days after I bought it so it hasn’t been in my possession or home for 6 months)
So they expect their £500 sofas only to last for 6 months then fall apart? - ludicrous.

Extremely poor service!! Belittled and embarrassed by a employee who refused to sale me nail clippers because I didn't have ID. I am almost 30. You have to be 18 to buy a set of knifes but over 25 to buy nail clippers 🤔
The employee was rude and edging for confrontation was over all the weirdest experience I have ever had shopping! Will not be going back!!

I wrote a review on trust pilot some time ago and homesense responded stating that someone will responded to my emails within 3 weeks. And did they.... it's a resounding NO....!
They respond by saying they will deal with it to look good to other customers but they never do. Just look at there reviews on cases.

4 nov Just been in Manchester store and served by trainee.( no one with him) Who put my item thru then said it didn’t go thru. Swiped again was assured I wasn’t charged twice I was not convinced so rang my bank who informed me it had charged me twice. Rang store to be told wait 48 hours see if it bounces back 🙄 not really on when I told them in store I’d been charged twice. Guy on phone blamed it on the till. Said it happens a lot🤔. So a huge company like this has a problem with the till charging people twice often ? And if it was someone who needed that money they then have to wait 48 hours just to see if it “ bounces “ back Then eventually wait for a refund if it doesn’t. Not really great service for such a big company. Best of staying away from this place unless you have loads of spare cash. Update… 11 nov. I did speak to customer services on the Saturday after. Who said they couldn’t deal with it until Monday and would call me back. It’s now Friday and I’ve had to ring them. Now been told I have to wait for world pay to investigate then if refunds required could take 10 days to refund me. My bank has stated that two payments went out 4 mins apart. And are sending me a statement to that effect. And I’ve also just been told by a manager it’s unfair of me to put a review on trust pilot ,🤷🏼♀️ maybe it’s unfair of the store to have people on checkouts who have no idea what they are doing. Either way I’m the one who’s out of pocket and I just have to wait for gods knows how long. Really poor service from a huge outlet, wouldn’t mind the shop wasn’t even busy. God knows how they’d cope if it was. Watch this space. I’ll prob have to chase this up again next week

Products are great but there’s an odd member of staff that works at the Birstall branch. A man working the tills decided to do some really cringeworthy dancing while serving customers and sang loudly as he scanned through items. Just bizarre, all the customers in the queue were just looking at each other as if to say “what on earth?!”. Even the other staff seemed to find it odd. Just embarrassing and awkward, pretty unprofessional as well.

I just can’t pass this store, the window dressers do a fab job of attracting my attention and getting me inside for a mooch. Always come away with something. I love their extensive candle range, they’re a must have! It’s great for ornaments for all seasons, xmas, halloween, Easter etc and they always have something just a little bit different which makes it extra special and a got to have!
