I usually love shopping here. Today however, I had a different experience. The staff who were stocking the shelves were so rude, barging around, pushing past customers and never once apologising for... See more

We have just had a visit from Erkan. We received absolutely fantastic service from him. From start to finish he was both professional and friendly. He took time to explain what he was doing and gave us advice as well as solving the problem. I cannot recommend this service enough. Definitely 5 star!

Awful experience at Homesense at Staples Corner. The manager and the 2 ladies at the till were rude and had no customer service skills whatsoever.

Tried to return a duplicate gift (in unopened condition) for my grandson’s first birthday but told the receipt was a few days out of date.
I explained about family Covid illness and then being pinged but told a very firm NO to an exchange. I had already chosen another toy which was more expensive and wanted to pay the difference and my grandson was there with me in his buggy getting grisly as it took the lovely young assistant ages to find a manager to speak with me. Eventually an assistant from another till (not the manager) repeated the same returns mantra but included some patronising bits of sweetness calling me “my lovely” and “my darling”. That was not appreciated.
Then the manager appeared and repeated the same mantra and said how sorry she was in a very emotionless manner (like she was being inconvenienced.)
So, wouldn’t it have been possible for the manager to show some compassion and let me return the gift and pay extra for something else? I thought it was a very hard nosed response that lacked empathy and understanding in the current situation, especially as I had a stack of other green Homesense receipts in my purse that shows I’m a regular customer.
Sometimes a little compassion shows that a customer is appreciated but I left the shop feeling patronised and not valued as a customer. It has certainly made me want to shop less at the store.
Update 31/7/21
I contacted Homesense using their email contact form after their message to my review and I’m still waiting for further contact. Seemingly they are very busy……too busy to deal with this genuine complaint from a regular customer. Do I feel valued? The answer is obvious!

I have been a customer of TKMaxx/Homesense for several years. Although the items look nice I end up being disappointed after a few months or even weeks. Last year before the first lockdown I purchased a Himalayan Salt lamp at the Staples corner branch. It started releasing a white substance then the bulb burnt. I took it back and the manager said he couldn't do anything without a receipt. I already own a Himalayan salt lamp from a different supplier and it is working perfectly.
After the first lockdown, I purchased a beautiful wall clock in the Greenford Branch. It stopped working last week. I changed the battery, still not working. The mechanism I think stopped working. Now I have to find someone who repairs clocks. This is not the only problems I have faced with purchases from Homesense. So disappointed because where there was a Homesense I would go in. Defective pots and pans, graters (even the holes in them weren't grating), cushions covers, beautiful wooden coffee table split underneath (saw it in time when they were putting it into my car etc...Sad to say but I can't see myself buying anything from them anymore. I really liked Homesense...

Brilliant service from Paul Dade and Raakhi at Taplow Store. I bought a drinks trolley which was faulty but they fixed it for me in the store. Looks great. Pleased with purchase.

Always get a receipt if you pay cash- you haven’t a chance in hell of being believed that you actually purchased your goods for return .
Would suggest store introduce emailed receipts as a solution to their mistrust.
First visit- never again.

I contacted the Solihull store manger as suggest by the homesense representative on this site. And told him that due to Covid I have not been well and limited to going out. Also i have had to be careful when outside. He told me that he cannot do anything. That the company had allow customers after reopening a month to return goods. However in all the confusion of which retailer where open or not open it was confusing to understand when and who was open.He told me to contact customer services and the phone just rings out. Homesense have been every insensitive to customers who have been trying to be careful through this time and it is a huge effort of their part to feel confident about going out.

Homesense in Yonkers, NY needs management. When it opened it was wonderful. It is now a mess filled with a hodgepodge of misplaced items. Once a great place to shop—now one big messy headache.

I was a first time customer and I will never order from here again, my order got cancelled but I never got a email to say why or that it had been cancelled, I only new because the money never come out. It would not have hurt to say that it had been cancelled like I have with other places i have ordered from.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE IT'S A COMPLETE SCAM!!! I keep getting the same canned response. They don't give you the up to date information on if and when you will receive what you order from them. Even they say they will send you the shipping information they never do. They have no problem taking your money but you never receive what you order from them.

Very happy to take your money but not so happy to honour their own refund policy, despite me pre calling the store to check the return would be ok. Don’t waste your time.

I was at Home Sense Pen Centre location a few days ago with my 3 year old son purchasing some items. We were being served by a man by the name of Christian. We got held up for a couple moments due to a price check. When my son became an impatient 3 year old, Christian started performing magic tricks!!! My son couldn't take his eyes off him. This was by far the best customer service I've experienced. It kept my son still and quiet for the time being and made me thankful for people like Christian.
